    Put the bars in my place without any bolts and loosely install the small bolt that joins the two halves first!! Otherwise, if you do this last as the video says, you’ll be removing the starter motor to fish out the nut that you dropped that falls down behind the starter motor. Also, hardware is crap. For the price, all hardware should be torx!!

    I found a solution to the center bolt problem! I went to the store and found a "cross dowel" and used that. A cross dowel is a barrel shaped nut that has a hole in the side that is threaded. You insert into the crast bar tube, assemble, and then you thread a bolt into the cross dowel. So much easier and really simple. Touratech should have just supplied one from the start!

    When installing these, make sure that the left side M10 bolt ear is on the outside of the kickstand. If it's on the inside, the parts will not line up together. There is an error in the video where it shows it on the inside and then on the outside in another shot.

    Why do you deliver the crash bars with alan screws and not with torx? bmw uses torx only... It would be handy, since you don't need to bring alan keys with your tools on a trip.

      I know Touratech Germany has been looking at incorporating more Torx bolts into kits lately. In some markets those tools are less common so it can make installing simple parts more complicated.

    Bonjour, j'ai une F750GS 2021. Est-ce que le crash bar se monte dessus ?! Par rapport à la sonde euro 5. Cdlt Julien.

      Thanks for the question. The fit is a little tighter on the euro 5 bikes but the bars do still fit.

    bro, how are you, I have the BMW f850 2021 40th anniversary and also the same touratech crashbars, highs and lows, as in this video, I followed your instructions to the letter but it is impossible for me to place the M6X35 screw, I have no space to be able to put the washers and the M6 Nylock nut, how can I install it please ... thank you very much

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  3 роки тому +1

      Make sure that ALL the bolts are very loose when you try installing the M6 bolt. You should be able to move the bars around enough to gain access to the holes and line them up. The most common issue with this installation is tightening an M8 bolts before you have ALL of the bolts installed.

      @@TouratechUSA Many Thanks, please, another question, I followed the steps to the letter, put Vistony EP-2 LITHIUM grease on the two large long screws, and tightened them to the specified torque
      I just started the motorcycle and it started to smoke and smell burned, this is normal due to the grease on the bolts or the loctite ?

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  3 роки тому +1

      It's likely that you simply got some grease on the exhaust header while installing the bolts. Keep an eye on it but the smoking should resolve in less than a minute.

    • @andreszanotti12
      @andreszanotti12 3 роки тому +1

      @@TouratechUSA Yes, happily it was the same grease that was used in the large screws that caused that smoke, after a few seconds it stopped smelling of burning, thank you very much for the prompt response, the tutorial videos and for the great touratech products!

    the M6 screw that goes in the center, as it does to fasten the interior screw hole to which you hardly have access (it should come already welded or with another less complex system) in the video they do not explain it

      The 2021+ bikes had some changes to the exhaust and engine sensors that make it harder to install that crossbar bolt than the older one shown in this video. It's still possible but as you say, is difficult to access.

    • @Inthewind24
      @Inthewind24 Рік тому

      This took me 3 times longer to install this one bolt than it did the rest of the bars. Then I find out that the cutout on the male end is way bigger than the M6 washer. So it basically does nothing.

      Difficult is an understatement, you will throw the allen wrench across the garage when the 10mm nut falls between the starter and engine block. And it will, don’t be surprised.
