Which cutscenes do you like more? Original or Remake?
Remake! Very good🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Both are good but the remake cutscenes are much better.
Remake!
Obviously the original nothing beats the original as it’s challenging and way entertaining!
Classic! I love the MIDI Sequence style
I’m so disappointed that the remake didn’t kept any of the voice lines from the original, this would have been the closest we see Charles martinet voicing mario in animated scenes.
I think Charles is in some of them just not the newer ones
Agreed
@@Mr_TheJaymannah it's all Charles it seems they used his lines from other games he did.
@@ClassicSonicSatAm Isn't the true boss ending the new guy? Sounds like him.
Especially when he calls DK a big monkey 😂

@@59orJimmy 2:52 Come Back Here! You Big Monkey!

Mario talks more on the original.
"Come back here, you big monkey."
"Hey, Donkey Kong? Are you ok?"
"It's OK. Don't cry. You like? It's-a-mini Mario."
“Oh you Mama Mia (Italian gibberish)!”
I'm surprised they managed to re-use some of those, notably bits of the 3rd one ya mentioned.
And Donkey Kong had a mix of stock sounds and Grant Kirkhope’s voiceclips for him from Donkey Kong 64 in the original

3:01 Yes Laugh 😂
3:37 No Laugh 🙁
I’d argue the remake is better.
I guess they thought it was too mean.
2:20 Yes, Toad, they're 40 dollars.
Lol
I kind of miss how much of a lil (shit) troll Mario used to be like c'mon you can't tell me you didn't laugh your ass off at 5:13
Which is strange, because Mario still acts like it in the SMRPG remake.
The cutscenes in the remake made him out too nice.
@@robbiewalker2831Square Enix probably didn't want many changes
"Im-a-love you :D" god i love the mini mario toys voices
Reminds me of Baby Mario
Speaking of I wonder what they will sound like now
And the mini Mario’s are cute also
While I do appreciate the animated cutscenes which is a big improvement of just having slide show images, the remake sadly lost its charm the original had
Not to mention making all the music into jazz. So generic.
Original mario in just one scene: WhAtta YOU DOin? WHATsa Goin ON a here?! oh you MAmma mia tortolamibotolat oh
Mario in the entirety of the remake: oh no stop come back
In original Donkey Kong is sad, put in remake Donkey Kong is not sad.
yea in the remake he is just mildly annoyed
And yet he still gets a happy ending and the toy he wanted.
And Mario doesn't scold him.
Man, I really wish Nintendo would've made those Mini Marios real toys as merch
They did but they are plushies
What about the Mini-Mario's we saw in those stop-motion clips
That would’ve been genius
Oh-ho, man... If Jakks Pacific made that real, folks would be doing what Donkey Kong did to get those things.
It still sounds like one of the Toads in the second cutscene was saying “They’re $40.”
Now they’re 50
@@Bakedbeans780 probably changed it after the Mini Mario’s we’re stolen.
Gibberish can sometimes sound more coherent than expected, but that's it.
I do like the voice lines of the original game, but the animation of the remake is very crisp and fun to watch. Great remake in so many ways 😎
good way to balance a missing stuff improving another one
@@zanok7796Adding improvements doesn't make up for intentionally removing things.
@@SchwarzornYeah it makes me kinda sad.
And bad remake in so many other ways.
bro kidnaps the toads for no reason in the remake
If the Toads laughed at DK, it would've made sense, haha.
The only sense of logic is that DK got mad and acted on instinct.
That would be cruel.
Donkey Kong is way less sympathetic in the remake. He's just immediately antagonistic for little reason and it comes off way worse now that Mario/Toads were made nicer. Donkey Kong being forgiven in the end is also way less earned since he comes off as less remorseful, and in turn makes Mario's act of kindness less impactful.
@@zynux8252 I agree, the past made more sense for the story, whereas in the remake it's just, idk. Lmao
2:51 I had a habit of saying this to people when I was a 4th grader to be funny. Said it once without any knowledge of how it can be used as a slur, said it to a black kid. Kid told on me and the teacher chewed me out. I was confused afterwards cause I was like “monkey ain’t a bad word”. Spoke bout it to my mom asking “why did I get in trouble” and she asked “was he black” and that’s how I was accidentally racist because of this game series.
LOL I feel bad for you
Nice story, gave me a quick chuckle tonight.
Cutscene 1 - Both are the same but since the remake is the better quality. Point goes to the remake.
Cutscene 2 - gba version is more horror-like. The remake is more cartoony-like. 2:04 Mario's "No you don't. No-no you don't" is iconic. Mario writing makes the game. Not having them makes it basic. Besides being in hd, the remake is more boring. Original wins.
Cutscene 3 - Again, the gba version sounds more horror-like while the remake sounds more cartoony. The remake is shorter. The original has the toads screaming which makes you feel more sorry for them. I also like Mario and Toads laughing at dk in the beginning. The gba version cutscene is longer. Also, why does the gba version have better sound and music? gba wins again.
Cutscene 4 - ...Just Donkey Kong falling from a building. Both versions are the same but since the remake is more HD, I'll be fair and give that one the point.
Cutscene 5 - After that intense fight, Donkey Kong just won't give up. The gba version gives the player a twist by showing it's not over yet. Mario's "Hey Donkey Kong Are you ok?" "Here we go again! Wahoo!" add to the hype of the plus worlds. Showing there's more to this game. The remake although animated well just feels rushed. Also, why is it shorter than the original? Both are good but point slightly goes to the gba.
Cutscene 6 - How can you beat "Come back here you big monkey!" This cutscene is supposed to subvert the players' expectations by making them think this is going to be a remade version of cutscene 3 but then it turns out there actually were still mini marios in the bag. Mario's "Here we go again.. Again!" is said because this is literally happening again.. again. The music once again adds to the hype. The remake feels more basic because of the lack of Mario's personality shining through. It just feels like a rehash of the previous cutscenes without any subverting. Point goes to the gba.
Cutscene 7 - Mario's anger towards Donkey Kong before switching to a happy tone subverts the player's expectations again and once again allows Mario's personality to shine through. I like the baby's mario "Papa" "I'm a love with you!" "Monkey Man!" Great heartwarming ending. The remake still kept the "Papa" and "I'm in love with you" but not "Monkey Man!". I don't like how Donkey Kong is angry as opposed to crying but it's still somewhat good. The fireworks at the end do add slightly more conclusion to this ending. Since both are different, point goes to both.
How can a remake of a game from 20 years ago take a step forward but several steps back?
Personally I think this game is more of a ReBREAK instead of a ReMAKE overall. Because it's like the characters have no charm, most voicelines were cut and just replaced with generic voicelines, the soundtrack was mostly cut and replaced with new and uninspiring and unnecessarily extended ones, and the cutscenes are practically a failure compared to the original, apart from the 2 scenes they used from the trailer to upsell the game. And even then, you can just notice the generics and candy-coated design of the game just by noticing how they play out and what the characters speak like compared to the original and it doesn't have the action and epic aggression feel to it. But more of a toddler-esque appeal to target younger audiences. If anything they cut more than they actually added and now i'm a bit worried that this will make future remakes just plain awful compared to their original counterparts and will sullify the legacy of past games. This game certainly to me felt like it was more destroyed and rushed of a port they just slapped onto the switch for a cash grab than a real game.
And to answer your question at the bottom, they can easily ruin all games the way they did with this one by upselling them with fancy cutscenes, and gimmicky modes, and candy coat them with these cutesy designs and blend them in with their original content, so it appeals to everyone to want to buy it, when in reality it really isn't that great. And I believe this will only begin a string of bad games to be ported to switch. If this game is a flop and fans are mad, they will have a right to be because this is just unexcusable. And Nintendo can only blame themselves for this because they're the ones signing off on this content and relesing it as is, nobody else.
yappatron
Plus the death animations are similar to the Super Mario bros series deaths... The GBA version is more original, and the remake, falling damage/death is removed
One thing I didn't like in the original cutscene 7 is DK crying. I'm glad he wasn't crying (just looked pissed off) in the remake.
@@gerarddomene5063Yeah I’m currently playing the GBA version on Wii U and it’s still got charm and more voicing from Mario which makes me laugh and score attack and stuff.
Okay, DK kidnapping the Toads makes literally zero sense now. He just looks at them like fucking EDP445 and is like "you little shits are mine now" when him kidnapping them was actually provoked in the original because everyone laughed at him
DK kidnapping the mini Marios results in DK getting called papa and even said "I'm-a-love you". I'm dying, DK became daddy of the mini Marios.
I wanted to understand why change things from the original instead of keeping and leaving the extra content that the new game has. In the past, Nintendo used to make remakes only with improvements, not with most of it being downgraded. In the old one he has a reason to kidnap the Toads.

3:56 Cutscene 4
4:37 Cutscene 5

6:25 Cutscene 7 Ending
They ruined these cutscenes, I don't care if the original game had just slideshow images and the remake has high-quality HD animation.
Mario spoke more in the original cutscenes, the original game was the time Charles Martinet proved that Mario could speak longer sentences and sound great, it's a shame we never got a Mario cartoon with Charles Martinet in it, it was also funny to hear Mario speaking gibberish.
In the original, Mario, the Minis and the Toads laughing at Donkey Kong was funny, this gave Mario some personality, and no, Mario is not evil for laughing at Donkey Kong, he stole his toys, and in the remake, DK kidnaps the Toads for no reason, in the original, he was angry that the Toads laughed at him.
And most importantly, Donkey Kong crying in the ending was very funny, so much that I keep remembering the original ending for how simple it was, but also so memorable, why change that? Just because Donkey Kong is supposed to be badass and crying goes against his personality?
Remember that they had the original voice recordings of the game in high uncompressed quality, but they still refused to use much of the original voices and likely not because they were lost, only because they didn't want them.
@@silverdamascus2023I’ll gladly pay a DLC for modifications or something cause I’m currently playing the GBA version on Wii U and My 3DS has as well

His face is so unintentionally funny. He’s falling to his death, and he doesn’t care.
Original cutscenes: DK crying
Remastered cutscene: Dk is upset
It’s nice that they kept in Mario giving DK a toy. In the end, they both get a happy ending!🥰
Worst part about the remake is they removed the “monkey man” line
so it's where these funny Mario voicelines come from 😂
I definitely picking original FOR SURE🤣🤣🤣
0:07 Shy Guy gibberish?
I wish they kept DK sad, seems like a more complete defeat than a pout
I'd argue the pouting fits better with his character than just straight up crying
I think he should be angry at first but when Mario looks at him angrily that’s when he cries.
The original cause it was funny
OG: Mario and Toads being a dick and straight up laughs at the poor DK
Remake: Mario and Toads got confused at the empty bag.
1:57 hey cool
4:24 Hey Donkey Kong, are you ok?
E E E H
Original:Toads laugh at Donkey Kong,so it kidnaps them
Remake:*Kindly Kidnaps Toads for no reason*
Mini Mario: papa? Imma love-a you! Monkey man!

Why didn’t they make the city look like New Donk City? Seems like a missed opportunity…
A city doesn't have only one aesthetic, this can still be in New Donk City. In fact, I believe it is. Also they made enough bad changes to this game already. I wouldn't want them to change the area's aesthetic too.
6:08 donkey kong cried cute😊
Mario didn't say the full sentence in switch version, Like, He said, Stop, not again! Here we go again! Woo-hoo!
6:11, it made my day ❤
Judging by that expression as DK was falling at 4:38 makes me believe he was thinking about the bananas that he should've taken in the first place instead.
Its a shame the "come back here! You big-a monkey!" line didn't return, that pretty much goes for all of Mario's lines
Yeah Ugh where’s the charm and giggles at? Well Atleast I’m currently playing the original on Wii U and my 3DS also has it.
They made mario less serious and childish in remake 🥲
I wouldn’t say less serious, in fact in the original, Mario kinda acted a bit a like a jerk towards DK, while here in the Remake, he was more confused and all he was trying to do was defuse the the situation calmly and try to stop him
@colburnrescores6654 Someone in a different video sees the remake as how Mario remembered it while the original is a exaggeration of what DK remembered it
@@dreademperor2094Great, now I got that thought stuck in my head.
@@KasdenW1995 huh?
@@colburnrescores6654The original is more realist.
In my opinion, I feel that the reason why Nintendo changed the cutscenes was because the original portrayed Mario as unlikable and unsympathetic, while yes it is wrong for Donkey Kong to be stealing all the Mini-Mario’s, Mario was being kind of a dick for laughing at him, I also feel this was done in order to better portray Mario and Donkey Kong’s relationship in the movie, where they were frenemies, as they would feel that it would be odd for the kids who would be questioning on why they are fighting after the movie.
Though I do have to agree that it does get rid of a bit of the charm that the original game had, and does make Mario feel more like a bland hero, in the same vain as Mickey Mouse.
Good point. That means whenever new Mario game came, the portray of all characters will be all same, right?
@user-wo6zu2vh8f Yes, it's called all inclusive.
Dang missed opportunity to show some tears on Donkey Kong which would have made it a tad more impactful on the end
I'm gonna say now that comparing these two, the original cutscenes are acutally better and for a few reasons:
1) The characters speak more voicelines.
2) The emotions of characters are better well presented and feel more action packed.
3) The story makes more sense.
4) The game doesn't cut anything out for random censorship or without reason like the remake.
Also: Another thing. For cutscene #6 for the remake, what on earth were they thinking showing us the Mario toy company was where the final battle was going to take place when it's clear that BOTH final bosses take place on a Riveted Girder Building near Twilight City, not the Toy Company. Did they not expect us to notice that? (Original Players know what I'm talking about here.)
The original is too funny 🤣 bro
Ikr?
In the remake, they seem to make Mario more friendly and less cocky which may suit his character.
Man I miss a Cartoon Sound...
You already know it's not as good when they remove Mario saying "Oh you mama mia, *italian gibberish*!"
IKR? Man the fun and charm is gone and the laughs like “Come back here you big Monkey!”
For me I like the original much better I like how the new one is animated but It does feel like it has a similar problem with mario strikers battle league win/lose animations. it is very well animated but the personality of mario got sucked out.
They kept the one button tv remote 💀
0:52 This is how the kindergarteners sound in Leo.
It was much better when Mario, the mini Mario’s and the Toads were laughing at DK
I love the Mario kart Wii DK voice
Lol someone else spotted it.
Very nice upload!
Fun fact: at minute 0:03 you hear some words in Spanish that say "2 0 3 88"detail that was removed in the nintendo switch version
0:07 Shy guy gibberish
0:57 Shy guy with normal sound
Mario: hey Donkey Kong are you ok
Donkey Kong: yeah " pretends to kidnapping mini marios
Why isn't Mario making fun of DK in the new one?
Who knows but i am playing the original on Wii U though.
I enjoy how they specify that it both walks and talks, and it says "Mama-Mia" as well. The talking is cool, but it saying "Mama-Mia" is the selling point.
Why did they take out the laughing parts? those funny in the original. Its a shame the remake removed them.
6:05 Aww, that’s so selfless of Mario to forgive him after stealing his toy brand.
The cutscense 3 original where mario said come back here you big monkey was hilarious 😂
Oh mamma mia jjgjfvkfufitstj£££#####
They got rid of the best line, wtf Nintendo.
😂😂😂😂 Oh....Well I have a Modded Wii U and 3DS but currently playing the Original the on Wii U for these many charms and the movement is about the same to but I like scores!
Thanks! The game was a great honor to the og🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Why did they change the ending from Donkey Kong crying to him getting mad
I don't feel like he's mad. I feel like he is sad, but he doesn't wanna show it to Mario so he just hangs in a corner looking upset, which I feel like it makes sense since they didn't like each other a lot back then.
But in my opinion, you can see from his face expressions that he's repressing his sadness and acts like he's angry to hide it. Probably the only cutscene change I kinda like.
Cus Nintendo hates emotions
He took his defeat like a man instead of being a crybaby.
