He totally couldnt take his eyes off her in the bar though.
Eddie didnt understand their lawyer jargon but i love their little stories.
I also love how eddie knows more about jamie than dana with the whole olives thing :P
And who doesnt love a supportive friend with benefits trying to push you and your partner together - love it.

marialaura armellino I believe you are correct, even though he is in denial with everyone, especially himself. Both ladies are tough to dislike: Intelligent, lively, fun to be with, well spoken, know how to look their best. One brunette, one blonde. The guys in the cop bar ARE jealous; Jamie's got one in each hand, and both are absolute knockouts. Choices, choices. He rides with one during the day, and then takes the other one to a fancy dance at night, and also takes her home for a "nightcap" and a "coverscap".: How lucky can one guy get? No wonder he got razzed when he walked in to the cop bar. I guess someone's got to sacrifice himself for the team, right?
I mean this guy literally has TWO gorgeous, intelligent, and very outspoken women fighting over him, he's got the best of both words, and I'm going to tell you something, when Eddie was talking about that scene, I sensed an awkwardness there because for one moment, I realized dang Eddie knows Jamie better than Dana does. I mean look at the situation? But that's going to happen when you are riding with somebody for 8-12 hours every day. You are going to find out what makes them tick, and what doesn't make them tick. Jamie and Eddie know each other very well, and of course those guys were jealous. They didn't have what Jamie had which was two women, one who was in love with him, the other who possibly could be in love with him.

Ladies, the writers have done it on purpose. It keeps you coming back to watch the show, hoping against hope that they will progress. There's no fun in that for them. The adv revenues end if the story ends; they keep the "sexual tension" high, hoping to hook you. They said as much on the "Special Features" section of Season 4 on my 1-6 DVD set.
BTW, on that same Special Features section, they discussed the Reagan brothers' new partners, Marissa and Vanessa. Marissa was spotted during her short appearance on the TV version of Spartacus. They were impressed by both her acting ability and her natural beauty, and Danny needed a new partner (he had gone through about 6, and so they tested her and offered her one EP at the end of one of the Seasons. They were so impressed by her performance, considering she knew nothing about being a cop;, the second thing they noticed, was that she and Donnie had great chemistry on scene; the third thing was, Jim Nuciforo, their NYPD Advisor, told LG she had "gotten what a cop needed to do" after only 3 or 4 hours on the set; the fourth thing was, she had taught kickboxing in a gym in Los Angeles, so manhandling a perp and putting on the cuffs was no problem for her to handle. They offered her a full Season assignment, and she has been there since.
As for Vanessa, Jamie's partner, Vinnie, had been killed in the line of duty at the end of the previous Season, so he needed another partner AQAP. She had been spotted during her previous work (Pretty Little Liars), and they liked what they saw. They called her in for a test, and she did very well. So they offered her the next Season. She moved from LA to NYC to be close to the Studio. She worked very hard to figure out what it was like to be a cop, and what her character's background was. Will helped her tremendously, and they became fast friends off-camera. Will said the biggest issue was her hair; Eastern USA Coast dampness was wreaking havoc with her hair, and her hair has a natural tendency to frizz anyway. She considered having it cut back real short for a variety of reasons, most job-related. But Will told her, he thought very short hair would detract from her beauty while in civilian clothing, and the CBS people agreed. Because of what Will said, she decided to leave it long, and she had to agree it was much better for when she played off-duty scenes. The big key, however, was that she and Will were great friends both on and off camera, so it was very easy to be themselves, to a great degree, when in-character for BB's. CBS also decided to make their off-screen banter about her hair length an actual scene in the Series, which they did.
Joseph K I'm curious about the DVD commentary. Who's featured on them? Is it mostly show creators, or is it cast too?
C W Every one I have listened to has been a team of (1) one or more actors and (2) an Asst Producer or Director. The actor(s) is usually one not heavily involved in the Ep, whereas the Producer/Director has usually been the one directly involved in making that Ep. So far I have not encountered a repeat actor. Unfortunately I have not kept good notes on which Seasons/Eps have had Commentaried versions; one has to go through each DVD (there are usually 4 Episodes on each DVD; they average approx 45 mins of screen time per Ep) to see which ones have Commentaried versions. Each Episode has its own Menu: 1) the Ep itself ; 2) Any Deleted scene or scenes; and 3 ) The Commentaried version (if any).
That scene is great. I mean, come on. Even Dana sees there is something between them!

Oh, the "what do I do now?" look from Eddie as they walked off to get Jamie fitted for a tux. Did Eddie say, "Girlfriend here orders a chopped salad ..."? Subtle she is not.

Lori Lee Oates Did Eddie ask, "Where did you park the wedding cake?" when she brought Dana and Jamie beers? SUBTLE she is not. Between that and the "Girlfriend here orders a chopped salad" comment, it sounded like she was trying to tell Dana something to the effect that "Jamie's dance card was full".
I think she was just trying to check Dana out.
Lori Lee Oates Indeed. It was one thing to see Dana in slacks, and to assess the attractiveness of her face, business makeup and hairdo; it was another to see what real competition she had by seeing Dana in an evening dress, legs, hosiery and shoes, with hairdo and makeup to match. Add in all the whistles and razzing from the male cops, and Eddie knew they had arrived from the lawyer shindig. Remembering her own night after liquor and laughs with Jamie, I'm sure she was anxious to see just how "chummy" the two were.
Look, that's what women now and days do to each other, even if it was acting. They were basically sizing each other up, and everything. From what she was wearing, the makeup, hair, legs shaven, and everything. The whistles, and razzing she got when she walked up in the bar. Eddie NEVER got that, which says a lot. They were basically in competition a WHOLE LOT, that's all.
Oh yeah because men never do that and Jamie never gets jealous of Eddie's boyfriends. Because only women do that. Men get more jealous than women.

Per the full EP in my 1-6 Season DVD set, Jamie and Dana are "old friends"; the next morning, he leaves her place to go to work. Dana gives him a goodbye kiss with the sheets wrapped loosely around her superstructure, and was probing Jamie while they hugged under the covers, trying to find out just how close he was to his "work partner". Must be tough to keep two women happy, but I guess someone has to do it. (ha!) I couldn't even handle one, but then she was a lost cause anyway.
Dana is a much better choice than Eddie any day! Dana has beauty and brains💓💕💎

I'm thinking Jamie is "three sheets to the wind" before he even got to the bar. Why do I see green all over the screen, from the nostrils of both women? But then, there was a certain look from Jamie, that seemed a tad like green on his part, that Eddie was at the bar talking to some other guy. Tough, fighting off all these Pretty Women! (I think my green is showing)! Ah, but then there's always one guy who has to do the job! Right?
And later, he asked Dana to call him if she needed any help, after she mentioned Joe's name and his career change in the same sentence. Not a smart move, ma'am. You don't put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot, and never when the gun is pointed at your own foot.
