I think Elias needs to be formally in the org as well. Dillon probably never imagined he'd he as loved by a fanbase as much as the Devils fans already do. The exact piece this team needed, same goes for Marky.

Dillon hit was payback for Clifton hit on Hischier last year . Finally we have a puck blocking machine. Pesce too blocks a lot. I am actually scared for Dillon's willingness to block that much. Can someone tell him relax a bit in that department. We need him healthy and his puck blocking ability for Playoffs
@ValS781 Do you think Dillon was briefed on that situation?!? It was awesome that in the first game vs. Sabres after that, the dearly departed BRENDAN SMITH went after him and gave him the business. Brenden Dillon is an ABSOLUTE MONSTER. I love this man. He is a leader and will do anything to win. I am realllllly high on this team right now and think we may FINALLY have the right pieces in place to do special things. Keefe has been working his magic since the day he got here. @@frednimzowi9852I thought he balanced out the penalties with good defense at some very useful times blocking shots or shutting down a play. I'd like to see him keep his style of play without getting in the box too often though obviously

Loving this team so far! We need to keep up the momentum, and I’m hoping we can build a cushion early, (but want us to continue winning of course as well.) If I were a member on the team from the last 2 seasons I’d be pissed with my results from last season, and would be playing with a huge chip on my shoulder to prove that 22-23 wasn’t a fluke. Grateful we have the big names, but I’ll continue saying it’s the role players that are the foundation in championship runs!

A couple days ago I was bit down on the Devils. After watching the 2 games from Europe. I like what I saw. Their. "D" was tough and the new guys stood up for our key players. Let's keep it going.

It has come together B-E-A-utifully through the first two games. I cannot wait to see how this team improves more and more every week.
Personally I want Tatar off the second line though. He has hustle, but I definitely don't think he has the offense anymore, but whatever. I would rather have Palat in his place. And if Keefe wants Palat on the 3rd line, I'd happily take Cotter or Noesen next to Nico and Mercer. I think one of them rounds out that line with some gritensity.
As for our goaltending, they've been extremely solid so far. I don't expect perfection, but I think they'll be consistent, which is all I can ask.
And the defense has been a revelation compared to last year. Team efforts up and down the lineup. If the Devils can play like this more often than not, this team will go far. Bring the truculence boys!!
@MrZeek1519 Couldn't ask for a better two games. I could see Tatar getting shuffled. However, I do think he becomes less effective as he slides down. We have many possibilities with the line combos. Markstrom is going to have a big year. The defense is a whole new world. Bahl and Marino sent out, Pesce and Dillon brought in! And we haven't even seen Dillon yet! Kovacevic has looked great. The defensive depth is absolutely unreal. I cannot wait for Thursday. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
We played like a real team in both games and i have a feeling if we keep this up and play like we did in Prague and if we can keep this coordination going this team will go places and as Patrik Elias said "This team is due for some great things this year" and i agree with him we are due for some great things this year. And I like the fact we now have some players who are willing to drop the gloves with other teams, because this shows the league and other teams that we are no longer gonna be pushed around and that we will fight back and stand our ground. LGD!!!!

Yeah, the tempo/intensity thing is also a slight concern i have as well.They're definitely riding a bit of "high" at the moment.. new season, .new coach, players, system, etc. Everbody seems pretty pumped, players and fans alike lol . But, in all honesty, you kinda have to expect a little bit of a plateau or leveling off... it's only natural. The key is how they handle the adverse situations that are bound to arise at different points throughout the season. The difference this year is they have a lot more assets and are just a more rounded, more confident team. Like you mentioned already, we're doing all this and we don't even have two of our top D men playing yet! The depth of this team is a real saving Grave and will be an answer to a lot of issues that have plagued us in the past. General Keefe is pushing all the right buttons, I love this damn team!! 😂 LET'S GO DEVILS !!!

This team could be top 5 in goals for and goals against. It will be interesting on Thursday to see the Devils shove there new coach’s system down his former team’s throat.

Dillon threw a bigger hit in the 2nd game of this season than we saw all last season, and the physicality is rubbing off on the rest of the team which is incredible to see! As for the decision the coaching staff has to make, as well as Casey is playing, he still has to be at the top of the list for who is the odd man out. If GMTF can hold off on burning a year of Casey's ELC, I think he does whatever he can to make that happen. Plus, the skillset Casey has is similar to that which Luke has, so Casey can hone his abilities against men in Utica. All that being said, having to balance the financials of Luke, Nemo, and Casey is a great problem to have, but with the cap projected to go up, I think we'll be fine. Those 3 could be as influential and essential as Niedermayer, Stevens, and Rafalski. Thursday can't come soon enough!
@salvatoredibrita1028 Dillon is immediately one of my favorites. He brings so many elements that the team was sorely lacking before his arrival. I think Casey really may force Siegs out. I think Keefe loves the kid and is very high on him. It is going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. Casey signed his deal when he was 20, so his contract is not slide eligible. The first year of his deal has kicked in regardless of where he plays. The D-core of the future is going to be incredible. We should be very well set up for years to come. 4 days till the home opener! Send me your address man, I have the banner ready to ship out. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
tbf, I personally don't think it will be Siegs that would be out. we need like defensive Def guys in all pairs. I think it would be something between Casey and Luke (coming back from inj.)
Not much to complain about. I thought the Timo, Hughes, and Bratt line was doing too much., especially the first game. But glad they finally got rewarded with Timo's goal in game 2. Bratt needs to been more selfish sometimes, a lot of extra unnecessary passes that led to turnovers from that line. But the team looks good! Tatar looked fantastic I thought, he just looks like a different guy on the Devils. And I love Noesen. I remember his first stint with us, and he has developed into a fantastic player. He does it all and glad he started off the season with a goal, an absolute rocket with a quick release too.
@ITzCw4dE The top dogs definitely looked better in Game 2. And whatttt a playyyyyy on the Timo goal. Beautiful play for all 3 of them. Everyone is reenergized by this new and improved lineup. Tatar definitely has chemistry with Nico and Mercer. Hopefully he can have a big rebound year personally. Noesen is a beast! What a goal to start the season for us. I have high, high hopes for this group. I think the boys are going to take us on a magical ride this season. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!

Great show, Ace!! It's fun talking hockey ( Devils in particular), when your team has their sh*t together and are playing exactly the way they should be...it's a beatiful thing ( said while holding back tears..lol jk 😂). We now have multiple weapons and aspects of our game that have been absent for far too long! It's great to see the vision finally coming to fruition. Im not trying to jinx anything or find fault in the team. But, am i the only one who sometimes thinks that this may all be too good to be true!? Like at some point, the other shoe is gonna drop? This may be just a result of being jaded in the past with all the bad luck over the seasons. I hope that Im completely wrong though. If they can keep it up and buy in for the season....playoffs are a lock!! Then, it-ll be how far...if not all the way!? I feel like this team is that good, it's going to be a memorable season...can't wait!!! LET'S FCKN GO DEVILS!!!

My biggest concern is if we can keep up this tempo/intensity level all year and into the playoffs. They are a young group overall and should be ready for war. I am jacked up for this season. Not gonna lie...I was very skeptic about the Keefe hiring, and how this season was gonna go. But I agree, I think we are in a ride this season. Hopefully we can win a cup...Thursday will be a real test against Toronto.

Well devils need to get down to 23 guys (might see luke go on ir). Casey is the only one thats waiver exempt, so unless foote or macdermid are waived and risked being claimed, it seems casey has to go down

So if luke goes on IR thats possible for a while, but when he gets activated who gets waived for casey to stay with the big club? It's def not going to be siegs or kovacevic, would be foote or macdermid, both of whom have to clear waivers. Casey is only one waiver exempt, he is def going to get sent down to Utica until a spot opens back up

Casey 100% looks the part so far, but with Luuuuke n Joe Pesce comin back we just don’t have room. Maybe we can keep him with the big club on a rotational D corps but is that worth it to burn a year off his ELC?

The thought of turnover Luke playing over a guy like kovacevic really bugs me. Seigs and Luke are clearly going to be the odd guys out but will definitely get played over better players. Disturbing.
@michaelmcmahan2101 It will be interesting to see how the D plays out. I think Luke is guaranteed to come back in. I think he will be forced to play a somewhat different game under General Keefe. I do not think we will see him making some of the high stakes gambles he made last year. I wouldn't be shocked if the emergence of Casey leads to Siegs being forced out for a bit, or even potentially traded. If they believe in Casey to be fulltime, Siegs becomes expendable. Him being shipped out would open up a spot for Casey and give the team some nice cap relief/flexibility. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
