TNT (Thread Needle Tension) is an abbreviation I learned recently to troubleshoot sewing machine problems, since most people start troubleshooting by adjusting the tension, but most problems are caused by thread type. If you change out your thread and it's still not working, change the needle. If both of those fails, then try adjusting the tension. Hence, TNT
I just bought elastic from you on etsy and was so happy with the quality and how quick it shipped! Thank you!
Very helpful thank you so much I was thinking of leaving rubber for clear elastic cuz of how bulk it is but not anymore 😍
Great advice!!🌸🙌🏻
very informative video, THANK YOU!
Very helpful!!
I love your energy lmaoo
Definitely going to pick up some rubber elastic after this but in the past I have gotten cotton swimwear elastic (Dritz brand) from Jo-Ann's and it's a braided elastic... or at least looks like a normal elastic.
For me I use all 3 but for different purposes. So I use clear elastic for tshirts or just normal ready to wear with stretch, I use braided for bands and I used to use it for swimwear but then I heard you talk about rubber elastic being more dependable if I want to sell and since I want to start selling my pieces, I invested in a pound from the Etsy shop 😉 I never actually used clear elastic on swim because even on tshirts it. Doesn’t have as much give as other elastics
The "steer clear" lol
Thank you.
I have made thousands of outfits over the last 25+ year. I have always used braided elastic.
does it crack? or snap?
@@Georgyridou no. I find the rubber stuff awful.
I hope you can please help. I need to buy the 'sticky' type of material that is sewn along the top of the bust to stop it from slipping down, but I don't know the name of it. Thanks
Katie. Could we see pattern examples of your Leotard style as well as Swimwear ? Usually there's weft versus waft in nylon lycra stetch fabrics, where a preference with Leo's is to make garment with 2-way stretch in the opposite direction so logos stretch vertically instead of horizontal. V
I bought a pretty pricey bikini for this summer, have only worn it a few times and the back area is no longer stretchy, I unpicked it and found rubber elastic - should I re-sew it in and just stretch it out more?
I have a question about the elastic has no more of the powder on it and it doesn't sew can I put baby powder on it?
Where can I buy rubber swimwear elastic in Europe? :)
Do you always use elastic on straps? I was taught not to, but I’ve seen you have sometimes...also some girls in the group but idrk if there’s a benefit... I’ll appreciate your help :)
I always do, with very few exceptions. Straps are especially prone to overstretching so for me it's an essential!
I use chlorine resistant braided elastic
Where do you buy from? Help over here please
