Great videos! I am going on the American Serenade on the Upper Mississippi next month. I am looking forward to seeing your review of the boat and any cabin recommendations.
Thank you so much for another wonderful entry, Jim! We have spent a lot of time in Nashville, and now, being able to consider doing the river cruise from there, thanks to you! :)
Just happened on this video and noticed it was from Nashville. What was interesting was that the Cheatham Dam and Lock was my first look at it. My Son works there. I’ll have to ask him if he was working when you all locked through.
Thank you. I really enjoy your river cruise videos of cool places in the US. I love ocean cruising, but these videos get me excited about trying river cruising. It looks like a neat way to see the US.
It really is a great way to explore the USA. It gives you a little taste of lots of different places. Some of them, a little taste is all you'll ever need... and others, you'll realize that you really need to return for a longer visit. For example, my short visit to Nashville convinced me that I really need to go back there for a much longer visit. The other places on the itinerary... I enjoyed visiting, but that short visit was enough. All things considered, though... it was so enjoyable, and I loved seeing what Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama were like.
@@JimZim I'm moving back home to Illinois from Florida, and I really enjoyed the videos on the greats lakes cruising you did as well. It makes me excited to explore some areas of the Midwest I have yet to see. Mackinaw island looks amazing, and I adore lilacs and I heard they have a lot on the island.
I love the seven day cruise on the rivers of Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama on the newest cruise ship of American Cruise Lines: American Serenade! This is the first of the new videos about the seven day river cruise on the Rivers of Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama on American Serenade of American Cruise Lines! This is the sixth river cruise with American Cruise Lines! You will get back to making videos of your collection of G scale model trains soon!
Thanks for the initiation into US mainland cruises! You model train videos got us started on your channel and the quality content and care of message have kept us coming back. This really got me interested in hopping on one of these boats. If you arent sponsored yet, boy, you should be...
I've been to both Nashville and Chatanooga but never by river, it looks like a great trip and a little different than the usual Mississippi trips. I'd be tempted to take this one myself! I agree, the river scenery is as good as the day stops, what things can be seen on the river are amazing! I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, I enjoy all your cruise videos!
❤❤ Thank you so much for this BEAUTIFUL video and will be watching for your other ones. I have wondered what it would be like to go on them now I see what it looks like. It looks fun. Glad you had a GREAT TIME. Thank you again for letting me see what's it's like.❤❤.
Hi Jim - looking forward to your videos of this cruise. I’ve done 9 ACL cruises and typically do a photo book & slideshow from the photos I take along the way. I’m curious, what source do you use for the music you include on your videos? My source in Photopia is far too limited.
Thanks for the video, Jim. A river cruise is better than no cruise, but the scenery does not seem all that exciting to me compared to ocean cruises. Perhaps, the one river cruise I'd like to experience in my lifetime would be in the Pacific Northwest. I hope you do one of those. Another option would be a cruise in France or in Russia, on the Volga. In my view, river cruises are very expensive and the cost is not justified by what the ships offer. You may change my mind though. :)
I've done two cruises in the Pacific Northwest with American cruise lines. Here's a video about a cruise down the Snake & Columbia Rivers: ua-cam.com/video/OW12wN7EKNU/v-deo.html Here's one about a Puget Sound cruise: ua-cam.com/video/91LOt5omRn4/v-deo.html
@@JimZim Thanks, Jim. I will actually look into this. I have followed you religiously on the ocean cruises front and may need to broaden my horizons on the river cruises one.
I think that would be the wrong cruise line for me. I've watched lots of videos about VV and there's just things about it that turn me off. Lately, American Cruise Lines have kept me plenty busy sending me from one ship to the another... all at their expense. It doesn't leave me a lot of time to do other cruises. I don't expect the free cruises to last forever, and when they finally have run out I suspect I will make my way back to Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival which have been the ones that match my personal tastes in cruising the best.
Wow! I'll see a new river journey! This is very good. Jim, what camera model do you use for time lapse photography? At what interval in seconds do you take pictures?
No, it's very calm and stable when you are on a river cruise. The cruise I did about a month ago was on the Great Lakes, and that was also very stable... until we got to Lake Erie and the wind picked up. There was some rolling motion on the ship for about a day. But that was a cruise on a really big LAKE, not a river. On rivers and small lakes, or on a big lake with no wind, a ship like that is super stable.
I’m going on my first ever cruise on American Serenade doing the lower Mississippi. I love this video and I’m looking forward to watching many more.
Thanks for this awesome video!
I'm looking forward to this series. I live about 5 miles from the TN river in West TN and love to see other people's view of the river.
Hi from Puerto Rico. Your videos are good, fun and relaxing to watch. Keep the good work up. God bless You allá.
Thank you very much!

Your videos are always entertaining and informative! That time-lapse was amazing and a terrific way to promote this cruise.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

UA-cam creators have access to a library of royalty-free music that UA-cam calls "creator music".
Yet another grate video.

@@JimZim I also see MSC is coming out with a Luxury Brand called Explora Journeys. We want to try that and the Ritz Carlton Yacht experience!
Wow! I'll see a new river journey! This is very good.
Jim, what camera model do you use for time lapse photography? At what interval in seconds do you take pictures?
The time lapse videos were done with a GoPro 9. I think for what you saw in this video, the interval was set to 2 seconds.
Can you get seasick on a river cruise??
No, it's very calm and stable when you are on a river cruise.

They don't seem to offer this cruise anymore. Was it a special trip?
I see that. I just look at ACL's web site and I don't see it offered anymore. I don't know what that's about.
Did anyone mention how much it cost?
