Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos hi
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos the subtitle is wrong “U-Bahn” is not Lou Bond.
there are in fact 2 kinds of Sachertorte ..the socalled "Original" and the "Demel´s version"
the history behind is that the young Franz Sacher who later founded the Hotel Sacher was an apprentice at Demel´s and created there the cake for Demel´s who was the purveyor to the imperial household and got the order by Prince Metternich to create a "new dessert" for a special royal dinner in 1832 ...So therefore Demel had the Sachertorte first for decades because the Hotel Sacher opened in 1876...
After a 7 year law suit in the 20th century they got an out of court settlement = Hotel Sacher got the right for the trade mark "The original" and Demel got the right to sell their own version ...which ment their cake has an extra layer of apricot jam....and from the outside they are distingushed by using a different seal...the Sacher´s seal has got a round shape and Demel´s seal has got a triangular shape...
I personally prefer Demel´s Sachertorte simply because of the extra layer of apricot jam..
So much appreciated the whole video, Thank you for sharing, can't wait for my Viena holiday!
Thanks Marlon! We hope you have a great trip.
I just have to say I love your videos. I've watched a few of them before purely for entertainment, but I'm backpacking Europe next month and your videos on Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw etc are incredibly helpful for planning my trip. Nice shirt Sam! Great stuff from a great place ❤
Great video! I love how you solved the problem of the no-filming policy at Hofburg - "Look at their souvenir shop. You can imagine what the rest of the palace looks like". This was brilliant!
Hahaha...thank you! Would have loved to film inside if possible :)
Audrey, Sam, thoughtful of you to list down the highlighted places showcased here. Not many presenters do that. Thank you very much!
Thank you! We sure enjoyed Vienna.

Thanks guys, a really useful video, especially seeing where we can't film. We are there for a day shortly so will pick what to do from your list :-)
Thank you very much!
Thanks Sam and Audrey. I have been following your videos from Lima, Cape Town, Seoul and Madrid. This is another great video. It will help me to plan my coming trip to Vienna. I always wanted to try the Sachertorte at the Sacher Hotel. Thanks for showing me what to expect. How much fun getting the free limoncello with your friends.....YEAH
Thank you very much! That is wonderful to hear. I have a feeling you'll really enjoy Vienna.
You guess that right. I can already see myself walking along Ringstrasse. LOL. One of the highlights of my trip will be going to the Vienna State Opera House to see Rigoletto. ua-cam.com/video/7tEpUXT3WHw/v-deo.html The tenor, Juan Diego Florez is well known around the world. I have already seen him at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC.
Good thing Sam got that little nap outta the way.....:-)......and Audrey, accentuating each syllable of audio rendered reading menus out there in the foreign, is a treat...:-)
Hehehe...oh, that nap could have lasted a bit longer ;)
Never interrupt a sleeping man......:-)
love this video...well done
Thank yoU!
Great video guys! Glad you are enjoying Vienna!
Another great place to visit in Vienna is the Gustav Klimt first kiss painting located in the Belvedere Museum! It’s a beautiful palace and the painting is a bonus.
Also the Karlskirche Church is amazing too!
Have a great time!
Thank you! We had a great visit. Ah, appreciate you sharing those suggestions. 20 things isn't nearly enough for a city like Vienna.
I love you guys!!
Thank you very much!
I love your video!! Especially the wine tour. And the beautiful pink restaurant.
Thanks Julie!
Actually put a comment in your Glasgow video. my home city now. My friends have just moved to Vienna from Wellington so I went to visit them in early June. Spent 3 whole days there. For me it`s just a stunning beautiful city, I am into photography so it`s a delight just to amble about it with the camera. I discovered it can be done without actually having to spend a lot of money. It`s a city with a special atmosphere, stunning architecture and with a camera, a city you just cannot get enough of. I had just spent 5 days photographing the Cuillins on the isle of Skye then went straight to Vienna and I was dithering whether to go, glad I did as this city just blew me away. One of it`s gems is the fountain in a side street next to St Stephen`s Cathedral anybody going there should make time to visit it, the Soviet War memorial is another. One of my best memories of Vienna was how this city does early Sunday evenings as it was just so relaxed, many cities do it good, Vienna does it with class. I got right into people photography in this city, with so many variants on show here, it would have been an insult not to.
Thank you for sharing your experience and tips. It certainly is a stunning city and fun to photograph.
Awesome Vienna and food!
The food is fantastic in Vienna!

The cats look like Sphinx to me. Nice video!

Great video! My sister and I just did a trip to Vienna! We had a great time... thank you for sharing!!
Thank you! That is great to hear. How is the weather there these days?
Cool video from my home! Thx fellas :-) Wiener Frühstück, Melange, Gulasch, Wiener Schnitzel, Mozarttorte, Apfelstrudel, Topfenstrudel, Käsekrainer, & much more want to see you again !!! :-) :-) :-)
Thank you very much! We sure hope we can come back again soon :)
Hello Sam, Audrey and anyone viewing this post - trying to plan my 10 day summer vacation (wife, and 2 kids ages 11 and 6), and while looking for various travel advice, came across the Sam and Audrey travel videos, and enjoyed the overviews of Poland and Hungary.
We are flying from New York, and the 10 days includes travel time.
We mainly like to tour the old towns, historically significant landscapes, and culturally significant architecture.
Want something for the kids as well; not necessarily an amusement park, but something interesting and fun for them.
Destinations considered are one of the following:
1) Poland - Krakow and Warsaw
2) Austria - Vienna and Salzburg
3) Czech Republic - Prague and Cesky Krumlov
4) Hungary - Budapest and Eger
Any recommendations, especially what would be fun for the kids, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I loved the video! It reminded the time I have been in Wien, more than 10 years ago. Have you been to a waltz concert? I remember to have gone to a place named Kursalon, where we could listen to great music, dance waltz and drink some good champagne!
Oh, that sounds like a great memory! We didn't have a chance to do that but would love to if we have a chance to return again soon.
Cake for breakfast 👌🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽yesss hahah
Cake for breakfast club :)
Awesome Thanks for sharing this adventure 📸👍👍👍👍📸
Thank you! We sure had a good time meeting up with friends :)
This place already in my bucket list to travel someday!!♡
That is great to hear!

Vienna is a lovely town!!
Totally agree!
It’s a City!
Love the video. So many beautiful buildings. Pity about not been able to film in the Museums😩 The cats on the menu are called Sphynx's.🐱
Thank you! The city has some incredible architecture. I'm glad we got to film from the outside at least. Oh, thanks for letting us know :)
Great video. In Austria, what do you do to arrange for mobile phone service?
Nice video ~ makes me want to fly home soon again! A bit of info that not many foreigners know is that the origional chocolate cake creation known as Sacher Torte is found at Café Demel ~ Sacher was an apprentice there, he stole the recipee made a minor adjustment and won the annual imperial baking competion of that time ~ thus naming the cake Sacher cake (torte).....Demel's is tastier...and old family recipees are also better!
i visite Viena it is a nice place whith a lot turist atraction. Greating from Romania
How fun guys!!! I would lover to eat my way across Vienna. Super yum I'm a huge fan of German apple strudel. European deserts are so different from American. Cheers from California!!!
Thanks Jack! The food was absolutely delicious. We had to do a lot of walking in between meals.
yeah guys crack me up!!!! Sam waking up hahah
Hahaha...thank you! That was a good wine nap ;)

Nice vid, love the commentary with it - makes it very lively and entertaining - keep the vid coming!
3:58: You are on the North Tower of the cathedral, which has never been finished, therefore shorter and has an elevator outside. The south Tower on the other side is higher, therefore the view is better, but u have to climbf a few hundred stairs. In the middle of the North Tower u have the Pummerin, the 2nd biggest free swinging bell in the world, you walked right past it. Its still active.
6:45 Ok so u went into ONE of the several museums and places u can visit at the Hofburg. And the most touristy one aswell^^ If u visit 4ex the National Library or the Treasure Chambers there is much more peace there (and lower ticket prices).
14:11 WIR means "us" and WIRR means "weird, exstranged, chaothic -> its mostly used in a mental sense"
18:03 Ok ur are in Schweizerhaus and there is one thing and ONE thing only u should order there - and thats Stelze and some beer. That Gulasch is a "Herrngulasch" its not the traditional Hungarian one. If u want to know what Stelze is just look at their website www.schweizerhaus.at/
19:42 Wiener Schnitzel = Cotoletta Milanese, thats where it comes from.
22:22 MQ is part of the Hofburg Palace
24:08 To be precise a Melange is a double Espresso + milk + whipped cream + (those a usually the secret touches that make it unique) some milk foam or a touch of warm water.
25:37 Topfen in english should be something along the line of curd cheese.
26:30 Alright, lets talk about tickets. 2,20 is a sinlge adult ticket in one DIRECTION -> meaning u can use multiple transports with it asa u go one way. Apart of that u have 24h 7,60€, 48h 13,30€, 72h 16,50€, weekly 16,20€. Children under 6 don need one, aswell as under 15 during school holidays and under 24 if u are scholar at an austrian public school. Senior citizens from 62 onwards have cheaper versions also.
Apart of that there are special tickets like the wien-Karte and Vienna-Card (sound similar but are different things) which cost more than the usual but have either reduced entry frees to many attractions or free entry at all.
In many museums there is no fee for children under 19y. Most museums close on mondays.
U have missed: Belvedere Palace, Charles Church, Parliament, Town Hall, modern Vienna (Danube Tower).
PS: My favourite sausage in Vienna?...hmmmm...well, the best Ive eaten came straight from a butcher, freshly handmade a hours before.
Thank you very much! Would love to especially visit Belvedere Palace next time.
Tyramde Whisperwind thank you so much. we are visiting vienna and that was really helpful x
You are welcome, if there are any other tipps I can give u just let me know.
wow! i need all the help i can get... upcoming family vacation this christmas!
oo.. i like.. it was like a recap :-)
Thankk you!

Thank you very much Juan!
I would like to say thanks for making videos such like this! The very first video i watched of you guys was your trip to Brazil; Sao Paolo and Rio De Janeiro.... i travellled to those wonderful cities on August, with the help of your youtube blog! I saw many wonderful things and experienced a lot after all the recommendations from your youtube vid!....and now next to the list is Vienna!😍🥰 This video really helps a lot for young travellers like me! 😄😄😄 thanks for the great travelling blog! God bless you guys! ❤
Thank you very much Vergel! Really appreciate hearing that. Where would you like to go next?
Vienna April/May 2020...may I ask which hotel did u stayed? Is it near the tourist attractions? 😊
Audrey was looking like a movie star when you guys were at Wirr.
What's the general opinion on the confectionery called Mozartkugeln (also the Sisi one). Are these commercial tripe or quality stuff? I found them quite good.
Hey very nice video. How much approximately costs a trip like this?
For the 2018 centenary year of Vienna Modernism, I found that photography was allowed in the Leopold Museum (MuseumQuartier Wien) and the Upper Belvedere, respectively, for the Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt art collections. The same allowance also goes for the Otto Wagner exhibitions at the Wien Museum. Might just be this special year, though.
To purchase a daypass for the Wiener Linien (bus, tram, U-, S-Bahn), I went to a Tabak (tobacco store), but they are many and everywhere in the city, including the Hauptbahnhof (central station).
I LOVE VIENNA 😳
Cool to hear! We miss it.
I'm from vienna and while vienna has lots of nice things to do, you HAVE to visit some of the smaller cities, salzburg for example. I've been around the world and there are only few cities which can compare. generally, try to go for some rural areas, you can find lord of the ring style of regions.....with lots of great wine and beer :D anyhow, great video!
Thank you very much! We'd love to explore more of Austria.
Loved the video. Have been to Vienna three times and, most recently, in May where I did the sights from the film Before Sunrise. You pretty much captured the essence of Vienna. I also would recommend a tour of the parliament building. Stunning infrastructure And, if you are into that sort of thing, very interesting
Thank you! The themed tour sounds really cool. Ah, we regretted not budgeting a bit more time to visit inside more buildings. Hope we can check it out on our next visit.
NICE VIEWS/ LIKE
Thank you!
Lol I was thinking before you said it that looks like the Ferris from the third man with Orson wells :)
Ah, that is cool to hear! :)
thnx
Definitely visit Rathaus, and Schottentor Votivkirche. They are actually quite near to each other.
Thanks! Really appreciate the suggestions.
Molt bon vídeo! Ens heu donat una vista molt bona de la ciutat i el vostre anglès és perfecte.
perquè són parlants anglesos nadius😊
I love my little, town Vienna.
Thanks Astrid! Vienna is beautiful.
VIenna is the most beautiful city I've ever visited. Bar none. Every building is resplendent in beauty. Every corner of the city has a different feel and atmosphee. The cakes were delicious. lovd the Arabic market. I had the best halal gyro int he muslim part of the city. It's got a fully european feel with an Islamic fliar. Just an absolutely beautiful place. So, what was he eating at 24 minutes? I see it was 3 slabs of kielbasi with looks like rice and brown beans. Looks delicious. I'd love to revisit Austria.
Thanks Kenneth! Couldn't agree with you more. What a fantastic city to visit.
I think there is some Turkish influence.
Vienna!!!*_* one of the most beautiful towns!♡ so good memories:)
Thanks! Indeed :) Ah, we had a great time because of our meetups with friends :)
Vienna is THE DREAM
When u come here next time visit also seegrotte, yah sachertorte should also tasted in Demel cafe just in front Hofburg

LOVED this video! I'm planning a trip to Vienna soon so this was very helpful. Was the restaurant you ate goulash and strudel at called Austrian Food? If you can remember the name of that place I'd love to know!
April Frank did you go?

How many days did you spend in Vienna to accomplish all the sights. We have a trip there in June. And what month were you there just curious about the temperature.
Thanks! A solid 3-4 busy days would be enough time to cover what we did in this guide. We visited in late September so the weather will be considerably warmer when you're there :)
Nice work please what is the name of the song ?
Never knew Austrians and Czechs ate goulash as well. I liked Hungarian goulash canned as a kid.
Having been to Wien 4 times with a 5th coming this October and being a retired photographer the only thing I hate about Vienna is not being able to take pictures in so many of the beautiful buildings. Thankfully most churches do allow photography and I do remember taking pictures once in the National Library. Don't know if that has changed or not. Liked your video BTW.
Can totally relate. Such strict photography laws.
I live in Vienna and I think nothing would happen if you take a few photos. They just don't want people standing around all the time
Was there 4 years ago. Was allowed to take photos in these locations: Kunsthistorisches museum (all exhibits), Neue Burg (armoury), library, Kaisergruft, Albertina. Not allowed: Hofburg interior, Belvedere interior, Secession interior. No idea if these have changed policies.
Hi, going next week, but I'm a little bit worrie about the weather,
