Platinum was hard as a 8 year old. I was too impatient to train a team i blazed through the game with only an extremely overpowered infernape. Now i realize how badass of a feat it was.
I had a level 50 infernape before the 4th gym. As a curious kid, I wanted to see how the GTS worked. So I traded my overpowered infernape for a wingull. A wingull. Looking back, I facepalmed.

But I didn't get to the Elite Four with my piplup on my first playthrough, because as I said, I was a little kid. On the attack on Team Galactic at Valley Windworks (before the second gym), I battled a cascoon and my prinplup got poisoned. I thought it was the end of the world, and I literally ran around screaming that he was poisoned and I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! So I restarted the game. Because my pokemon was poisoned for the first time. That was another facepalm moment for me.
once, when platinum hasn't been released yet in my country, it told my cousin that there's still another awesome pokemon legendary from sinnoh, but i forgot the name and told him "In Platinum, there's a legendary pokemon called Zeusu(Arceus) and Zygarde(i meant Giratina, but my brain is an idiot)!" And somehow now today, we have a manga character called Zeusu( from Tokyo ESP), and a legendary pokemon called Zygarde. Seriously though, this does happen in my life.

SKnight8046 In my opinion gen 2 is the most difficult one since red is really hard when you are underleveled and gen 4 has something that gen 2 does not have like a good place to grind your pokemon. Gen 4 is my favorite gen but I still think the most difficult is gen 2 if I would make a list it would go something like this from difficult to less difficult 1. gen 2 2. gen 4 3. b&w 2 4. gen 1 5. gen 3 6. b&w 1 7. gen 6
The Diamond and Pearl remakes are in Gen 7. Soon I get to relive Diamond and make sure that everyone gets rekt by my Infernape. I still remember my first team for beating Cynthia: Infernape lv 60, Starly lv 3, Fineon lv 28, Dialga lv 51, Geodude lv 10, and Bronzor lv 41. I wasn't all that good back then and thought that HM Slaves were a good way to go. That final battle was as clutch as ever. Infernape with no other Pokemon and 23 HP. Cynthia just had Garchomp left and it was in the orange. Infernape used Struggle. Critical hit! Garchomp fainted. I had no idea how lucky I fucking was to get a crit with Struggle which ended up dealing just enough damage to knock out Garchomp and drop Infernape's HP to 1. Infernape's HP dropped to 1. Most memorable day of my life. I will never forget that moment.
My all time favorite region in terms of anime, Pokemon designs, gym leaders/ characters and of course Cynthia. The battles were the only thing I hated to critique because they were SOOOOO DAMN SLOOOOOOW!

I've always sort-of hated the theme, mostly just because it was used for both the Leaders and the Elite Four (C'mon Masuda...this is ALL you have to give us?). I like everything you make though, so it may just be your touch on the song that makes it bearable. Anyway, great work. I unintentionally did solo runs with my starter for Kanto, Hoeen, and Sinnoh. Naturally this is quite hard for Sinnoh, with Cynthia's team. Aaron was quite easy, as I started with Chimchar. Bertha was harder, but somehow I managed to beat her without too much trouble. Flint was even harder, as most of his Pokemon (that took a hit) knew Earthquake. Lucian was pretty easy, although the Bronzong took a couple hits. Cynthia was the hardest, mainly because of her Gastrodon and Milotic. The Garchomp wasn't too bad, and of course Lucario and Roserade have type weakness to Infernape.
Yeah..for me it was his Tentacruel. After my first Sceptile solo run, I realized that you could teach Sceptile Earthquake and sweep his entire team with grass+ground, but the first play through took a few tries.
The ghost type one was very hard for me. Before you meet her, you fight barry at pastoria. He was underleveled, so i couldn't get much farm. And by this time you had fly, so you could fly by Hearthome to check on the gym. The gym was easy since it was full of math. When I got there, here pokemon were 2 to 4 levels higher than mine. Although Ghost types are my fav type, i didn't really like the sinnoh ghosts. Her mismagius and misdreavus have dick moves like confuse ray. The only pokemon I had to counter her were Crobat(had bite and inner focus) and Girafarig(normal type that can do support and defensive damage with psybeam against mismagius). My girafarig was the lowest lvl on my team, and crobat died by curse. I got rekt later on.
Fuck yeah, and the similarities don't even end there. What Pokemon type does Volkner mainly use? Electric. In the Naruto universe, what type of chakra most commenly used to increase speed? Electric. Coincidence? I THINK NOT

Sinnoh had the craziest gym leaders. Roark: Obsessed with fossils, constantly hanging around in caves and spent his childhood playing on Iron island. Gardenia: Just watch the anime she's crazy. Maylene + Candice: Thinks being lightly dressed in cold areas makes them stronger. Wake + Fantina: Do I really have to say anything here? Byron: Has some kind of Dilemma about how to treat his son. Volkner: Rebuilt his gym and then most of Sunnyshore City just out of boredom. I just love them all!
Say what you want about D/P/Pt, but the gym leader theme from this region gets me more pumped than a lot of other gym themes. Diamond and Pearl weren't really that good, but Platinum made up for it BIG TIME. Platinum was amazing. It was like D/P were just a test, and Pt was the perfected result.

Gardenia: Just watch the anime she's crazy.
Maylene + Candice: Thinks being lightly dressed in cold areas makes them stronger.
Wake + Fantina: Do I really have to say anything here?
Byron: Has some kind of Dilemma about how to treat his son.
Volkner: Rebuilt his gym and then most of Sunnyshore City just out of boredom.

Say what you want about D/P/Pt, but the gym leader theme from this region gets me more pumped than a lot of other gym themes. Diamond and Pearl weren't really that good, but Platinum made up for it BIG TIME. Platinum was amazing. It was like D/P were just a test, and Pt was the perfected result.

It actually IS liking a kind of music. The music is different across generations and conforms to the area of the world it takes place in. Needless to say, they're all unique.
Cant wait to try my pokemon platinum character challenge in the future sinnoh remakes. We all know they're coming sooner or later
