Sochan’s been awesome! Much better finishing and incredible off the glass. They’re gonna need more shooting and for Wemby to figure out how to punish undersized wings to make the whole thing work with Sochan long term. Thanks for the breakdown!
Sochan is the perfect example of addition by subtraction. He leveled up significantly by dropping the elements of his game that are not at an NBA level. his rookie year he had star written all over him by playing the defensive ace and essentially only cutting and post playmaking. last year it felt the ball handling/playmaking/shooting was his offensive role and it was a bust. and this year he's back to his original spot and he looks like a star again but he's gotten so much better at finishing against contact.
Pop forcing him to play pg made his ability to see the floor get a lot better, and it helped spurs tank for castle bc they weren’t contenders last year
@@victorw9869 This exactly. Idk why so many people hate on Pop (not that OP was), I feel like he's out here playing 5d chess. Just quietly building a monster.
That pg experiment last year has paid of. There was a game were he dribbled from end to end and finished strong. Playmaking has really improved and guys he is just as young as Wemby and younger than some of this years rookies.
100% And he knows how and when to cut to the basket so much better now because he knows what the point guard is seeing. Plus, as others have mentioned, it helped us tank to get Castle. Pop is a mastermind, just a clinic in how to efficiently build a contender.
Sochan is barely 21 and constantly working to make his shot better. It is crazy to write him off on his 3pt shooting. He is going to be the 3rd leg of the Wemby Vassell Castle core for this squad. (Castle being 4) I would love to see Mamu growing into that last spot if Atlanta doesnt get us that Cooper Flag pick next season.
Jeremy is actually my favorite player on the team! He's exactly a Spur to me: humble, hard-working, quirky, and a little bit of nasty. I honest to God think he's got the capability to be a Kawhi Leonard caliber player without the selfish attitude. If you think back to our heyday, the Spurs were actually an incredibly quirky team: Tim Duncan was an odd superstar, we had a tiny Frenchman at point guard, and we had a Manu. Nobody knew what Manu was except Manu. Jeremy just seems like he fits with that legacy, and I love his game!
AG is who Sochan Phase 1 should be. If he can get a better shot he can be even better offensively, but that will take time. Shooting is all about confidence and I don't think he is there confidence wise, but his shot mechanics aren't horrific or anything, just not perfect right now, but we've seen with Tatum this year and other in other years that its very possible to improve and he is a super hard worker and has Wemby right next to him also with a good mechanics but bad efficiency right now. So they just need time they are both 20 years old
I honestly do believe he will develop some semblance of a jump shot in the coming years. I'm not sure he'll ever be able to punish teams from 3, but a little mid-range jumper seems like it's in the making for him. He's going to be dangerous.
Sochan is a keeper. Why are people so stupid as to not see that Pop’s PG experiment with Sochan was part of the tanking last year. They got Castle as a result and VW-Sochan-Castle-Wesley are the DEFENSIVE juggernaut to build a team around. They just need a #2 scorer beside VW. As for Vassell, who is a #3 scorer, he cannot stay on the court. So he is a trade asset for the all-star SF who will be #2 scorer to put beside VW. (Brandon Ingram?) Spurs should have one or two lottery picks in a deep 2025 Draft. They could find that #2 scorer there.
PATFO looks for two things in a player: 1. Basketball IQ and 2. humility...or as Pop says "a player who is over himself", i.e., not a selfish player who wants to be on ESPN highlights all the time.

Absolutely! Great video. Jeremy hustles. He works hard out there and his stats show it.

Don't you know that PG exp was part of Pop tanking? We got Castle as a result and the "D" is back in San Antonio, pray for us.
They used his growth to tank and prepare him for winning time.

His footwork and patience around the basket is much improved.
sochan has been great this season! he and wemby will feed families for years

It's what made me fall in love with this franchise. Best franchise in sports!
Jeremy BEAST Sochan
Sochan The Destroyer 💪

No vassell yet we gone ha a problem at full strength ones we figure each other out Chris Paul is going to speed up that process
Wannabe Rodman
Sochan is not a championship caliber player. If he were in Boston, he would only play in garbage time. If spurs keep him, they will never win.
such a talent scout you are 🤡 ......
He’s Marcus Smart at 6’9
@@MJU682 when Boston traded Smart, they finally won
@@leonj301 spurs will trade Sochan and win a championship. You will say that you were right anyway
