They are great knives all around. I enjoy both my USMC full length and USN MK1. Great fixed blades and could get you through some tough spots if you need them for it.

Excellent. I need to carry a short fixed blade knife. My folder now seems to not be cutting it. Good video, man. BTW, i have the same Remington cleaning mat, lol.

Andy Prariedog My folders have seemed to not 'cut it' anymore either my Storm Chaser 3 is not what it was when I got it three years ago. I carry a folding knife too on top of my USN Ka-Bar and it seems to be of good quality I got it at a fall festival back in September or October. But you can't beat a short fixed blade knife though, they stay sharper for a longer time. You also never have to worry about them failing. I like the Remington mat too. I need to get an M14 one for my computer desk. Thanks for watching.

The USN looks like it would have better edge geometry to aid in slicing over the larger mk2

When I touch it up on the sharpening stone it gets razor sharp. A very good knife indeed.

I have the 1250, and really love it. I thought to get the full size, but I personally feel the 1250 like yours would be more nimble in my hands: since I love the look of the 2 gen it's like having the best of both worlds. I too carry mine every day; also a benchmade bugout mini, a German made swiss army type of knife: lastly my trusty cz75b lol. My edc, what a loadout!

I also used abother knife to cut lines into the black rubber handle of my mk 1 just to make it a little more grippy it almost seemed to want to move around on me when wet and that's a no no but it has still served me good

They are great knives. I love them both. All thought I think the USN Mk1 is handier in some situations.

You can get the short version of the Kabar utility/fighting knife, it’s about 5.25 inch blade as compared to the full size 7inch, fits in same leather sheath as the Mark 1, it’s about $15 to $20 cheaper too. Other than flat grind vs Sabre grind its pretty much same knife, similar capabilities etc.
      mark1 and short utility/fighting knife.

Carried it for a year? It still looks practically brand new. It hasn't been used much evidently.
