How is it anytime im in the process of making any deck, you come right along and ALWAYS put the right video as im building it!? Get out of my head you wonderful man! As always, appreciate the video my friend ^_^
I really like the suggestions on this one! One thing to note Vampiric Link isn't technically lifelink so it does stack with keyword lifelink abilities.
Something I just realized about Frenzied Fugue in the last couple days: It's an Enchant *Permanent*. It doesn't have to be on a creature. I think that can open up a lot of interesting possibilities for it.
Hey Joey , been following this series since the beginning and it's a blast ! Speaking of Chainer as a really nice commander I'll really enjoy if you do an episode about him. I know your heart of necromancer will answer my prayer 🙏 btw your tech are fire 🔥👌
A personal favorite of mine is Netherborn Altar. Recasting your commander is gonna happen a lot! Might as well get him back to your hard while still losing life! Oh and Daring Fiendbonder is a great sacrifice fodder and helps for protection.
Since there are equipment that passively increase the power of graven, I personally like the card "Not of this world" - it's 7 cmc but becomes free if you control a creature with power 7 or greater. I add that as my Gotcha card
Greven is my favourite deck to play, hands down. The Relentless Assault + Surge to Victory-combo is particullary good since Greven typically has good evasion.
Great video ! I recently fell in love with this card and will definitely build him soon. What I noticed immediately when looking him up at EDHREC was how many people used truely deplorably awful cards just to add life loss to the effect they wanted. Don't do that ! Just play big creatures and good or mediocre cards that let you lose life ! Go for double strike, strength doublers, equipment or infect to win games, not for Reckless Spite and Moltensteel Dragon ! And cut down on the number of bad lifegain instants, they're rarely worth it.
I would love to see an upping the average on Ghave, Guru of spores. I have played that deck for a long time and I see the average recommendation for it and know it can be improved upon so much to run a lot better and provide you with so much more. Would be a great episode
I can recommend Mitch's budget build of Obeka. It's a creeper, but works really well when you get into that mode of flying under the radar until you do something heinous.
This is certainly one I've been thinking of running out myself, just worried it would get a little...samey. Seems like with enough redundancy and speed, it's a super interesting threat though!
Why? Not really a general that needs any in-depth explaining. Throw on auras that give evasion and buffs and swing away Merrill (or Uril in this case). The deck lists haven't changed much in the last decade.
I am not sure the best way to ask off-hand, but could you please do an 'Upping the Average' on Chatterfang? I've already run lists off your Veyran and Osgir videos and would love to see some suggestions/budget options for Chatterfang!
Which Card I would also recommend If you got the Budget is Mana crypt. I dont play it in most of my decks, but for tempo and life loss, its the best mana rock because it has a double duty in this deck with the life loss it can provide.
Let us know how you enjoy this deck!!! I enjoy playing my Greven deck and what I learned is that folks will kill him on the spot. Would love to see how you built him!
A budget consideration is going for a "reanimator" strategy, things like Thrill of Possibility not only discards Vilis or Anger but it could also fix our mana problems by discarding something like your third lifegain card in hand. I already fulled my greven, but the looting efects are still a must to fix stinky hands. Also, if greven dies a bunch of times you can let him go to the graveyard and play Animate Dead on it to solve the tax. Protection for Greven is not just 1 card, you should be using Bolt Bend as well as Deflecting Swat (if you can afford the later) as well as Malakir's Rebirth effects. Once they know what you are doing, spot removal goes to greven no matter what. And ramp, put tons of it, he will die alot. I use between 13 and 15 extra mana sources (even dark ritual). The rest is very well spot on, going all in and prepare in case of a Maze of ith or Songs of the Dryad is the best approach. 10/10 Greven video.
Hmm, I wonder if the new Hand and/or Eye of Vecna would go well in a Greven deck. Eye might be a little slow but Hand seems like it could be interesting between paying life for the alternate equip cost and giving a buff based on the cards in your hand.
when the f did hatred get so damn expensive? lol i've had one for years lol this is crazy. i had greven built before but took it apart. i feel like rebuilding it.
Some good Greven cards that don’t show up in either list: - Killing Wave - Pay X life to keep Greven alive and pump him, then watch your opponents sac their blockers or bring their life total in kill range - Brighthearth Banneret, Generator Servant: Play Greven earlier - Mindblade Render: Early card draw - Rushblade Commander, Ogre Battledriver: More haste enablers (All of these can equip Obsidian Battleaxe for added cards / life loss when you sac them) - Warchief Giant: Yes I’d like to make a 5/3 I can sac every turn - Zealous Conscripts: More stealing creatures (or that pesky Maze of Ith!) - Seize the Day / Fury of the Horde - Extra combats! When you have your 10 infect Greven, why not take out two players in one go - Aggravated Assault: More extra combat - Mob Rule: Why yoink one creature when you can yoink all big threats. You should have extra sac outlets like Phyrexian Tower - Embercleave - More double strike - Blood Mist - More double strike - Smoke!! Hard to keep up blockers for Greven when you can only untap one creature, har har
"There's a lot of money tied up in the manabase" I feel like this is the case for almost every episode, ever. Two thoughts: Maybe the core gamepeices everyone needs to play optimal decks with shouldn't be prohibitively expensive. If someone is looking for cards, in general, to buy just to have stock for their collection in case they might want to build decks in the future, you want shocks and fetches. You will put them in almost every commander or modern deck. Fetches are great in legacy too. 5 fetches just got reprinted and you should buy them RIGHT NOW. I hope everyone has a great day.
This deck has two cards with elephants in their art... And they both survived the tuning! Very nice.

Yeah, why they get to use Mana Vault only once when I can use it AS WELL but more efficiently :3
Hey Joey , been following this series since the beginning and it's a blast ! Speaking of Chainer as a really nice commander I'll really enjoy if you do an episode about him. I know your heart of necromancer will answer my prayer 🙏 btw your tech are fire 🔥👌
Really glad someone is finally mentioning the secret liquimetal torque tech.
A personal favorite of mine is Netherborn Altar. Recasting your commander is gonna happen a lot! Might as well get him back to your hard while still losing life! Oh and Daring Fiendbonder is a great sacrifice fodder and helps for protection.
Greven is one of my pet decks! I'm so excited to see "the stats" on it!
The card Hatred literally has Grevens face on it and is perhaps the most flavorful and biggest way of just straight killing someone outright
I am surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video. :P
@@SamuelKacerik Probably the downright brutal price on it.
My favourite Commander
Go hard or go home!

Feels good to see a video on one of the edhrecasts decks. Would love to see more like Vito for example. *Hint hint* Great video btw.

Can we get an Obeka brute chronologist deck tech? I've been trying to get her to work for a while without going for the infinite combo stuff.
I would love to see an episode on Uril, the Miststalker.
Bro my boy Ian just built that deck and it fuckin slaps

you got the like regardless of what you'll say, just because greven is also my boi.
Need for speed and the 16+ red enchants that give a downside for blocking are great includes that are incredible for greven highly recommend them.
I absolutely love Volcano Hellion in Greven, you do have to be very careful with it though
Would you be willing to make a The Scorpion God upping the average?
Vendetta is pretty great removal in Greven since it's cheap and helps you lose life at instant speed
I am not sure the best way to ask off-hand, but could you please do an 'Upping the Average' on Chatterfang? I've already run lists off your Veyran and Osgir videos and would love to see some suggestions/budget options for Chatterfang!

Hey guys dI'd you know Mana crypt was good haha
just finished building him a few days ago!!!
Let us know how you enjoy this deck!!!

Definitely a great equipment to comsider
Great series. Speaking of Rakdos could you ever do one on Obosh?
Nice vid! Can you do one on Yarok? I would love to see what are your thoughts on his average deck list and how to improve it!
This one time a Greven deck was swinging for lethal against my dragon deck. My WotS Sarkhan and 3 other dragons had something to say about him though.
Uh-oh, Greven is one of my favorites … let’s see if I will agree with the changes …
An interesting one you can do is Vega, the watcher.
Can i Suggest obuun mul daya ancestor for the next upping the average?
Another great counter to maze of ith is Leyline of Punishment and others like it.
Golos Next?
I hate to be gross. But man Joey is so freaking hot
Could you please do Prossh Next? I know he's similar to Korvold but He can also be very different.
I know you said it sucks to draw plan B but Kaya's Ghostform might get you another swing and it's 1 mana.
if you can’t get a command beacon grab a netherborn altar even if grevens on the field you’ll still lose life for the soul counters if you activate it
Soulgorger Orgg is my top pick in my Greven deck!
You die before gaining back the life from Soulgorger Orgg. Would not recommend
@@thegreatestblood only if you sac the Orgg with Greven
When a Volo, Obeka or Galea
Nvm, Please do an upping the average for Mogis!
🤖🔥 Bosh XD
when the f did hatred get so damn expensive? lol i've had one for years lol this is crazy.
i had greven built before but took it apart. i feel like rebuilding it.
Please, PLEASE do Golos! They're aren't very many deck builds out here on youtube for him!
noooo it's rakdos but it's not kroxa ):
Some good Greven cards that don’t show up in either list:
- Killing Wave - Pay X life to keep Greven alive and pump him, then watch your opponents sac their blockers or bring their life total in kill range
- Brighthearth Banneret, Generator Servant: Play Greven earlier
- Mindblade Render: Early card draw
- Rushblade Commander, Ogre Battledriver: More haste enablers
(All of these can equip Obsidian Battleaxe for added cards / life loss when you sac them)
- Warchief Giant: Yes I’d like to make a 5/3 I can sac every turn
- Zealous Conscripts: More stealing creatures (or that pesky Maze of Ith!)
- Seize the Day / Fury of the Horde - Extra combats! When you have your 10 infect Greven, why not take out two players in one go
- Aggravated Assault: More extra combat
- Mob Rule: Why yoink one creature when you can yoink all big threats. You should have extra sac outlets like Phyrexian Tower

- Blood Mist - More double strike
- Smoke!! Hard to keep up blockers for Greven when you can only untap one creature, har har
The art of the card [Hatred] is Greven's face, right?
Too bad [Predator, Flagship] is not in the list, Greven's ship.
No mention of Rite of Consumption or The Akroan War? Seems like they’d be decent picks
You promised us a melek izzet paragon deck... just saying
"There's a lot of money tied up in the manabase"
I feel like this is the case for almost every episode, ever.

after Sythis I really hoped the next one wozld be Chatterfang
It's a fun deck but I got bored and took apart 1 week ago lol was fun while it lasted lol
