This Blademan (Grader Operator) knows his business. As a blademan myself, I wouldn't have the trucks dump in piles shown in the beginning. When I'm on a truck & dump import job, I like to have them spread out the dirt as they dump. It makes it a hell of a lot easier to spread it out.
That final pass along the edge was a thing of beauty! I don’t think be put a singe piece of rock outside the cut! Bravo! They’ve come a long ways since the Pol Pot days

Spreading with dump truck tailgate would cause too much chaos and gravel would be win-rowed over edges of road. Grader wouldn’t have control of linear grade. Also, grader needs to Angie blade and pull out of just enough to get roller going even compaction one one side of roads while he whittles away at other side. You can’t roll gravel evenly the sand if it hasn’t been bladed out by grader. Gravel needs to be contacted in layers as it’s built up

i'm curious how did you guys spread the aggregates according to the exact same slope with the motor grader.. i'm new in the site.. we often got troubled spreading aggregates to the expected slope.. sometimes it will be 3%.. sometimes it falls to 5%.. sadly, we often leveling it with the asphalt to make it smoother slope..
You know you can use chains on those dump gates on the trucks and it lets your pre-spread all that gravel? The grader does less work moving the gravel and more of what it was built for, leveling. The work goes a lot faster.

I would have thought hey.. use the dozer to smash down the bulk of it coming straight off the trucks and use the grader following after for fine tuning..
@ the best, - Oh they sometimes do, - depends whether the "Elite" are going to use the road or not. The total lack of street lighting being installed suggests they weren't. To my mind that gravel should have been watered and rolled in every 4 to 5 inches, instead they just 'spread' it straight onto hard compacted soil, - not the best way to put a 'sub-base' down, (or type 1 as we call it). They might put a couple of inches of Asphalt on top, - but not always, (they haven't many pavers).
