The really unfortunate side about airsoft and specifically GBBRs...
is that it is probably the least return on fun to investment than any other sport or hobby in existence
I'm a full time GBBR user, but when you think about it, I've forked out a crazy amount of money for this replica that I can only really shoot on weekends in very specific locations, even if I'm lucky enough to have my own private garden range and not have the Armed Squad send me to another realm, I have that continuous horrible feeling...is my gun going to shit itself? Is my hop going to work today? Is it going to completely gas out in this crapfest that is English weather?
Frankly if it isn't anything other than an MWS (or now the TM AK), this is the reality using most GBBR's

I've been using GBBR for 3 years now, and what you described sounds more like you're just really paranoid or unfamiliar with your system. I have 3 guns that I use regularly, and I've torn them apart, modded, and put them back together tons of times. I know they'll work and won't break on me.
AEGs, however, have broken more times than I can count. I can relate your comment towards AEGs more than GBBR. If you can't, I suggest learning more about your guns. Then you'll stop worrying about something going wrong since you'll understand it.

Glad you're back mate. Great video as always. 🤘
Just a quick correction, Plastic is a type of Polymer. They are not different materials.
Plastic is a material, there are different types of plastic. Polymers is a type of molecular structure.
All Plastics are Polymers, but not all Polymers are Plastics.
It's weird, and misleading, that some companies claiming that a certain thing is made of "Polymer" to sound "more quality" than made of plastic.
Keep up the amazing content, you help a lot of us. ❤️

I've had my first gbbr, a jg m4, since 2015. I have gamed it a few times before it started showing wear. One advantage of buying cheap is you encounter more or less the same problems higher-end gbbs suffer from at a lower cost. Yes, you can learn a lot about the basics of handling and taking care of a gbb. So far I have made a hammer pin, repaired the bolt catch, fixed mag leaks, and shortened the stroke. That's another plus, being able to work on your smithing skills and try stuff you learn from others.

The new release of Army Armament replicas now has a steel triggerbox in the G36C GBBR (bought a week ago at Taiwangun), 2 magazines included, compatible VSR/GBB bucking and barrels, all for about $160. Worth every penny...

    • @michagromek6342
      @michagromek6342 5 місяців тому +1

@@uzzy1364 everything is fine, the trigger mechanism is like new, the only thing worth paying attention to is the hopup chamber, e.g. when replacing the bucking, carefully screw the two halves together because the screws are delicate, it is also worth tightening the flange well from underneath, which is placed on the hu chamber and put a thin O-ring at the front under the barrelnut when assembling the HU and the barrel back. This will minimize any play. After all, when we screw the barrel assembly together, we do it on a plastic body, so it's worth stabilizing everything. The replica itself is worth every penny, but it's still AA. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the new G36C AA with a steel trigger mechanism has about 390-420 fps (there are discrepancies between the replicas I bought in the same store a week apart), it may be too strong for some airsoft cqb fields. However, after replacing the bucking with ML2021 autobot, using 0.4g bbs the range exceeds 70m , so it is more suitable for outdoor games.

I started in 2020 and went straight to GBB only because my main reason was to have a collection of guns that were closer to the real thing as a gun lover lol. Started with a WE M4 CQBR and long story short, it was a decent learning curve. That WE has now turned into a full build internally and externally, build cost is around £1300 without the mags but including the gun. I love it and wouldn’t change what I’ve learned, because with that experience, I now have a PDW build and a GHK URGI build and love them all.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that this was a really helpful video. I'm not a fan of AEGs, but I've had really bad luck with gas guns. I had a Golden Eagle M16 RIS that suffered a catastrophic malfunction on game 1. (A bb got stuck in-between the bolt carrier group and inner wall of the upper receiver. Getting it out caused significant damage to the gun and ultimately killed the whole thing.) I also had an Elite Force 1911 that's safety switch self destructed during a game. I'm a college student so I don't have a lot of money, and I just today bought an S&T M16A4 from an Evike Lighting sale, not knowing that it and the Golden Eagle were related. I was SUPER concerned that I was gonna have another $180 down the drain once I discovered the connection between the two, so your video helped sooth my nerves. I still might refund it, but at least I have a much better understanding of what to expect. I would totally go for a GHK AKM if I had the money, but I just can't spend that much on a hobby right now.

An interesting video. Me and my mate have had this chat as well about a year ago. I plumbed to go second hand(virtually brand new with 7 mags for £450) and my mate could only afford a we g39c . When they are working both give a great shooting experience, however often the g39c throws a fit and has my mate cursing. But that said since he has bought the gas gun his aeg's have never been used. That has been the case for myself as well. So much better shooting experience and so much closer to the functionality of real steel.
I've always used airsoft guns to practice for shooting real ones for both military and the police in the past. I wish I had these gas rifles years back whilst still using the real ones in the police.
These days I use them to teach some tactical stuff. Guys that have only fired aeg's are generally blown away by the experience of shooting the mws.
Even the guys on the real steel range who pop over are impressed with the functionality and general performance. Plus it allows them to try some more dynamic drills in relative safety.
Keep up the great vids matey.

Speaking of which G36 is also my favourite platform, I love it so much that I have two of these platforms one AEG and one GBB. That AEGis fully upgraded and shoot extreme well until I purchase the VFC GBB one, then that AEG just become a wall display lol.

Great video as always Ollie! I'm glad you mentioned the wider logistical aspects of owning a GBBR, the first step one ought to make before buying one is to look for spare parts. I'd recommend a TM MP7 and if you can get one second hand like I did for 200 pounds, even better. I've also seen some VFC 416s second hand for a decent price as well, buying new can sometimes feel like a scam.

Your so knowledgeable it’s insane . I ended spending 480 on a Wa arms based system I’m regretting it a little cause finding mags has been a little difficult but I was able to source 7 of them . I do have to say though I did go into the purchase thinking something was gonna break cause I didn’t get a TM , GHK, or VFC and Robbie honest it has shot like a dream . Nothing has broke yet that is a functioning part! I did break the ear where the trigger guard goes trying to force the pin back in with a hammer so that’s on me and I just jb welded it back and it’s fine now but relatively it’s been an amazing Gbbr and I’m very happy with my purchase. I just wish mags were a little easier to find . The gun does take ghk gmags which is awesome but finding them in stock has been a challenge atleast in the states ! Overall great video and anyone looking to try out Gbbr should definitely take his advice cause it’s very solid advice . I’m in the market again for another Gbbr and I’m torn between a VFC or a WE and doing upgrades cause that’s where all the gun is for me upgrading or more so tuning and making it more reliable! Tough decision I’m still very torn . The MwS by far has the best performance it just lacks in realism when it comes to the trigger group which is also another reason why idk about the WE . I do remember in one of your videos you saying the trigger itself wears in nicely but I can’t imagine it will ever be as crisp as a ghk and vfc or WA . As always amazing videos and excellent information!

I like the idea of players, who are interested but nervous to get into GBBRs, to get something like an AA G36. But I definitely would suggest doing a lot of research into the platform to make sure parts are easily available from WE. That way they can take it out to a game day and run it for most of the day to see how they like it and it’s a great transition period.
I don’t really like suggesting any WA clone only because the system is over 20 years old and parts are becoming harder to source, especially certain upgrade parts like barrels and buckings. They also experience cooldown way harder than most other GBBRs currently on the market.
But yeah! Grab a cheaper gun and a mag or two and just have some fun with it and use it as a transition into the GBBR Master Race!
Although, playing Devil’s Advocate, I think “buy once, cry once” is also a good idea for gas rifles because you generally get what you pay for.
Another big suggestion of mine is this: if you don’t know anyone with a GBBR that you can talk to to help you with getting into the platform and assist with tuning/trouble shooting issues, then go to a game and pay attention to who is running a GBBR. If you find someone running it, go talk to them about gas rifles. They’re almost certainly an enthusiast and they will undoubtably nerd out on talking about gas guns and may even take you under their wing…or at least know someone who will. Having someone you know who is knowledgeable in gas rifles is a God send. Gas gun users are like an unofficial club and always bond at games.

100% agree. and that last paragraph, oh my goodness, SPOT ON. so Alex from the discord I met at a game about 7-8 years ago and I was running my PTS MKM (before the TM came out) and he was amazed that I was running gas in the winter, or was at least trying!!!! that PTS is awful!! but we became friends and then he needed somewhere to live and I needed a housemate to help with the rent, so I lived with him for about 3 years, and it was legit the most mental house full of guns but also sooo expensive, that man can find anything, he's one of the main reasons I have 2 genuine geissele rails. he has BCM and Noveske real steel, such a cool guy! and he setup the TM discord, what a legend!
also yeah the WA system isn't as well supported as it once was and its just not very refined. nice trigger pull tho, closer to 6-8lb.

(I write this before watching the video so maybe you will cover this topic),
But price in airsoft can be very misleading sometimes too. Like just cause something has a premium price doesn't always mean that that price is justified. Best example is ghk vs vfc ARs. Id always recommend VFC over GHK especially with their newer ARs they really stepped up their game.

Hey Ollie short update from my past basement sessions:
Done everything with lubing what you told me to do. (Used the BB session to work it in.)
    Again used 144a.
Tried again with a full load of gas waiting until the valves spits, then got out one complete Load and only bit more.
Watched your gg-mod video. Will try to lower mags and aggressively try to put everything in like in the vid :D. Maybe I will weight them!
Green gas is more resistent against temperature so better option how I understoood.
Would you say: „Test again with green gas! Don‘t worry about your nozzle spring“ Than have a look at your mags!“
I‘m afraid of punishing anything. If temperature drops would green gas be my „144a gas“ during hot summer? Or will I nevertheless put still more stress on my internals? Or is the power now ok when temperature is lower?
Nozzlespring upgrade before green gas use?
    And now:
Hearing test: 3 of 5 mags having those minileaks. 2 completely ok. After that relubed from outside router and output valve again. I think I‘ts really nothing important. Little nano „blub“ sound. Won‘t effect anything I think. I will ignore and if everything fails I owned the Lees Precision O-Ring set for the mags. Another user told me that maybe the mechanics under the pusher item of the valve above has got good Funktion but valve below needs some lube. Maybe pushing those pins and take the work. …but first when I played first skirm 😅✌🏽
    Some important questions:
What’s your experience with the T8 feedlips?
What brand for complete set/spare nozzle should I go? There are sets and only nozzle.
And what brand for nozzle spring? There is % giving, how many percent should I go for?
Have a nice day! Thank you for sharing your big experience and that you take your time for your community 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😬😬🤘🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

King Arms, that's a great shout for a mid their GBBR, but I know what you mean about branching away from AR's, I love the 553 or an Aug or something, and with the new G3s and Fal there's loads of great DMR options out there too. I think having an M4 as a DMR is OK ever since I saw a video of Travis Haley talking about using an M16 out over 800 meters and he knows a lot more than I do but in my book over 800meters you need to be a marksman, airsoft equivalent is probably 80 meters 🤣 I do love my DMR tho, it just shoots amazing

  • @buddybeets
    @buddybeets Рік тому

lets be real guys when you buy a gbbr regardless of price the performance is never gonna be good as hpa so you might as well not worry about performance and just get something you find cool.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  Рік тому +3

HPA and AEG are the same basically, both can be made to perform extremely well but both are living a life without a soul. that's what GBBR is all about, just having fun and to be fair a well tuned GBBR fires BBs in a different way to HPA and AEG's as they both use fixed amounts of air to propel the BB (HPA not quite as much which is why they still joule creep) whereas GBBRs have gas expanding behind the BB, this is why when you try to get an HPA or AEG shooting 80Meters+ you'll struggle. This is not so with GBBRs, they can be tuned way harder and give way better results but you have to be willing to put in the time. if you get an MWS, drop in a omega nub and something like a 60 degree flamingo along with a harder nozzle spring and you'll be pinging .48s at RANGE. trust me, ive been doing this for 25 years, aint nothing I haven't tried.

I should have mentioned about them shooting hot then it would have made more sense. and I agree about the tensioner too, that's a cheap and effective upgrade. thanks buddy 😊

    Alright so my 2 cents:
    I started with a WE-tech Open bolt M4. (416)
    500$ canadian brand new.
First caveat; i wanted too make sure it was internally as solid as it could be, so i replaced the:
hammer, trigger, sear and valve knocker with RA-Tech.
Without replacing these parts, you will eventually run into double firing issues and such. These upgrades cost me another 100$.
Keep in mind i could easily source the WE- replacement parts for cheaper, but i went all in with ra tech.
NOTE: ONLY REPLACE THE PARTS STATED ABOVE( sear, hammer, valveknocker, trigger) or you WILL wear out the other parts and do more damage than good!! Dont bother with changing the BOLT on a WE-tech m4, the ra tech one will beat your gun too death and smash your hop up unit.
Th we tech is almost a 1:1 replica internally, which is really cool. You feel like you are working on a real AR, and you can fit alot of real steel parts on it, so if your in North America that's something too consider.
Also try and avoid using the bolt catch as much as possible, its gonna wear out eventually, which means you would have too replace the bolt but then have too replace the hopup unit too as ive already said thats risky...
Oh dont forget it shoots HOT like 450, so you will also need a 30$ npas unit that may or may not work depending on how new it is...( old ones apparently were trash? Mine works fine)
    Now, 65$ a mag, 3 mags later... its a 800$ loadout.
Know what else is an 800$ loadout?
My Tokyo Marui MWS CQBR. Which brings me too my next point.
If you can afford it buy the TOKYO MARUI MWS (or akm if you go that way)
It needs nothing, it asks for nothing. It is its own proprietary system that WONT BREAK especially if you run it on duster gas like me. The bolt catch wont wear out because like i said, its system is solid.
The difference is spec. The WE tech can accept real steel parts more readily, and is mil spec, i think you can even fit RS rails but dont quote me on it. Where as wih TM its all TM/AEG spec, and you will need certain aftermarket adapters too fit certain handguards and rails, so customization can be a bit trickier with the TM.
All in all, if you can afford a TM get one, but the WE-Tech is still a great platform, it just might need some help along the way, and might eventually cost you what the tm cost. (Yeah okay if you buy mags for the tm it will get up there too in price)😂
If you want realism and maintenance = WE-Tech
If you want reliability and some parts confusion= TM
    GBBR MASTER RACE.🫡💯
