Rare Radio Newcastle commentary - Newcastle United 1987

Starting with Kevin Scott's goal at Bradford in the Simod Cup (1-2), rare audio footage continues with Newcastle United's match at Oxford on December 5th 1987.
The clip includes Radio Newcastle's first half 'It's A Goal!" alert that informed listeners of goals in the featured games as well as edited 'live' commentary from United's final 2 goals in a 3-1 win.
Also a funny piece of Mirandinha's attempts to learn English under the influence of a certain Paul Gascoigne.

I used to present the Its a Goal show on Radio Newcastle in the 80s, the It’s a goal jingle worked in getting football fans attention.....the worry was, which team had scored ! Railton Howes

Well done mate for this..proper memories for me listening to metro and radio newcastle..mirandinio..gazza waddle beardsley jackson rhoder (pardon the spelling)
..i hav actually still got a cassette tape ov recordings ov goals ov all these and more tht i recorded ..i taped the goals at the end of the broadcast that they repeated before the end of show and edited them all on my twin cassette getto blaster and stuck them all together..together with england goals of the same deasons(waddle linekar beardsley turkey 0 eng 8...brian robson etc early mid 80s)allsorts !!!! Wish i knew how to share it..peter jones arnfield 5 live everthing all on one 20 min cassette !
