I had that same one. Beach Head 1986 version. It followed me everywhere… Damn, I miss that… Amazing how in the 80’s one single toy could keep a kid busy nonstop.
I absolutely love the character, thanks to his cartoon portrayal. Probably my 2nd favorite Joe behind Sarge. I'm glad you pointed out the absolute disparity in cartoon portrayal and file card. And I never knew what the red thing on his shoulder was!
Also one of my alltime favorites. Always has been and always will be. Very happy that he is part of my collection and I will never get rid of him. Super cool design and cartoon character. Cant beat the vintage Joes. Awesome that you own a carded one as well. Would love one of those. Thanks for sharing.
What can be said about the Michael Mercy channel, other than: a place that emanates the joy and inspiration that these properties brought to so many in the first place.
Great video of Beachhead, it's a very good character and a very cool action figure. Now I want to get my vintage Beachhead out and put on display. Thank you for making great videos Michael, you are so totally awesome and you rock.
Great video Mike. Beach Head's voice and attitude was something out of left field when he came on the show. I remember saying"who does this guy think he is ?" But i always understood that he just wanted order. Lol he was just a perfectionist. Thank you also for going over the details of the figure. I really like that. And thank you for taking the time too.
First time I saw Beach Head (and maybe for a while after), I thought he was called "Beach Head" because he just really liked surfing or something... despite never really showing any inclination towards it.
the two knives probably mean that he's a jump master. since airborne ranger he's airborne qualified and a perk to climbing rank a good leadership course to have is jump-masters course, so the second knife on the leg is for cutting risers.
Great review video Mr Mercy! Beachhead has quickly risen to be my second favorite character/figure in the vintage line, and my favorite in the Classified line. I just love the overall look of the character, and the accessories are cool. As a kid I always thought that his backpack was a jetpack, to me that bottom part looked the exhaust nozzle, and the retracted hook on the side I thought was like a folded up satellite dish. Thanks for another great episode, see you in the next one. Nerdmasté.
Man! I can't believe it took me this long to find your channel. Instant SUBSCRIBE. You have done a perfect review of the character and the various figures. Beachhead's NO gentleman and he has NO compunctions! The comic character traits were a little closer to the file card dossier, but part of this guy's legend is the disparity in the cartoon. Great post. Sgt. Sneeden would DEFINITELY approve!
Alright, ALABAMA in the house!!!😂😂😂 Love this Joe and I am so glad I picked him up 2 years ago when I stated watching your channel Mike!👍. Prices now for this guy have jumped up! Awesome review brother.👍😁
I got my beachhead, same weapon and pack without the bag..... can I ask what's the difference between the dukes with the patch on the left arm and ones without. Seen only 1 with the patch so far Cheers
Duke was available as a mail away figure in 1983 and included a USA flag sticker for his arm. The regular version released on card in '84 didn't have the flag sticker. The head on the mail away version is a bit different from the carded version too.
1986 was the high watermark of GI Joe. Beachead was one of my favorites along with Wetsuit, Low Light, Leatherneck, Hawk and Sgt Slaughter
I have fond memories of walking to my local pharmacy circa ‘86 and purchasing my first Joe with my lawn mowing money....Beach Head!
'Magazines' for his guns, across his chest... 😁
I still have my original Beach Head with all his accessories. Good show Mr. Mercy!
I liked that Beachhead trained Rawhide recruits while Sarge was the man needed to put the Joe's back in action if they got soft!
I had that same one. Beach Head 1986 version. It followed me everywhere… Damn, I miss that… Amazing how in the 80’s one single toy could keep a kid busy nonstop.
Beach head and low light are my two favorite gi joes

I'm happy I at least have the 25th anniversary and classified Beachhead figures. My 25th figure carries a Sunbow styled laser rifle.
Not gunna lie, probably my favorite joe! 😁👍.

Beachhead is awesome! He's one of my favorites!!!!!
"A...thing?" I'm assuming that's an M18 Claymore anti-personnel mine, very common Ranger loadout, and good to clear enemy lines or knock walls down
Yep, Beachhead was my favourite too. I still have my original but he is suffering from a painful 'groin injury'.......

That Frogger arcade machine in the Terror Drome, so cool! 👍

@@MichaelMercy Your welcome.

Nothing like having your original figure with paint wear and battle damage.
Nice review. Vintage Beach Head is an awesome sculpt . Always wondered what he looks like without the mask.
Really cool looking figure. Great review - a braver man than me for bringing your toys that close to the water!
Rangers lead the way!
My first GI Joe...Beach Head!
Definitely one the elite joes

never had the original . but did get the later night force set version and he was a great figure .I do love the modern versions

One of the best figures! Great video!
