Can I just say you are an absolutely exceptional cornet player! I also play cornet, am 12 years old and live in the UK. Have you got any tips for me? I would love to achieve a sound as beautiful as yours!
Practice by playing long notes and listening to your tone. Your tone will improve and get richer as you go. Listen not just for tone but long straight notes too. For flexibility try lip trills and arpeggios starting on a g and going as high as you can up and back down to start again. Start on g then progress each arpeggio by going up a semi tone to a flat then a then b flat then b then c and back down to g. Get a great teacher or tutor who plays like you want to play. I’m in Perth Australia but like to play like this guy with great tone and control
It's a Bb cornet, the one in the far left smaller one is an Eb Soprano cornet, the one used here for the solo is a Bb one, at the beginning of the song you can hear the soprano ;)
the band sounded terrible imo, drums weren't so nice either But the solo trumpet is the first I see here on YT, that sounds nice and melodic, without sounding like the soloist was struggleing

Hi, I usually play a V shape mouthpiece Denis wick 4, when i was younger a denis wick 2 but that takes much air!

Also try a 5c mouthpiece which is good for tone and allows you to play low as a well as up to f or g above top c if you are good enough
