Great Vlog on "The Hatchetmen". Very informative . As a kid I watched the Crues as I lived nearby and although a Blueman I've always had a soft spot for them. I remember being at a match were a wild shot on goal sailed over the bar , out of the ground and hit a Belfast double decker going down the Shore Road. I was at the both cup finals you mentioned from the sixties. The win over The Glens in "67 was a great game. That day they beat in my opinion the best Irish League team ever in Glentoran '67/'68. ( and that's hard coming from a Blueman). A lovely memory of the picture of Walter McFarland ( The Tank) seen shaking hands with Emlyn Hughes . Walter was a family friend and a lovely man.
Great vlog again Niall. I do know that there are a number of books on the Irish league. I still believe that a book, with chapters on each club, history, stadium, supporter’s, etc, by your good self would be very welcome among football fans all over Ireland. Just my humble opinion. Well done, and look forward to many more vlogs. 👍👏
As someone who reads a lot of theology and church history, I once said that I stopped liking Bernard of Clairvaux after I found out that he supported the Crusaders. (He should have supported Linfield!) 🤣 Seriously, though, that video was excellent. I will be sharing it with friends who are Crues' fans and others interested in local football. Moreover, Seaview is one of my favourite grounds in the Irish League. The view from the big stand is great and I always sit in it if I am watching Crusaders as a neutral or attending reserve or youth games at Seaview.
Fantastic views in the big stand, wouldn’t mind taking in a game from there myself. Not sure about the seats though as I’m 6ft and similar to the stand straight across they ain’t good for big units 😂
Bannsiders vs swifts in quarter final draw for the league cup. Let the banter begin 😂. I’ll start we’ll get hammered by you guys, but up the Tyrone side - here’s hoping for miracle of footy
holy shit, i never knew that little outdoor museum was there, i thought it was just an outdoor seated area for the bar thats beside it. the crues seem to be similar to cliftonville where they win trophies and have success in batches then gaps of absolutely nothing. dirty player is one way to describe stevie baxter, theres a few expletives you could put in lol. and in ref to the name of the god squad, i sure as hell would not count kirk hunter in there lol. if memory serves me right they had baxter, gelnn dunlop, glen hunter, kevin mckeown, aaron callaghan and stevie livingstone who were all christians along with walker. superb video again Niall, another informative vlog mate 👋👋👋
@@ThePeakys yeah Kirk was the midfield enforcer type dude who's Infamous moment if I recall was the day at Seaview vs Cliftonville, he had a fist fight on the pitch against Damien davey with another reds player actually on his back. Which is the same day Justin mcbride nearly got his head surgically removed at the hands of winky murphy, until John devine stepped in and saved him at the blues/glens match due to a vile tackle on John Easton in front of the South stand
Another enjoyable video. Didn’t know about the history in the troubles. Didn’t know and can’t believe Baxter has been manager since 2005. He has obviously been a legend for Crues but do you think it’s time for someone else to take over?

Brilliant again Niall. You have a brilliant mini series going, keep up the great work and efforts.

Doesn’t matter anyway, semi away to Cliftonville is nightmare draw for either team 😭
Very interesting and educational, well done.
Another excellent video

Kevin McKeown, Aaron Callaghan and Stevie Livingstone weren't born again christians

Baxter has a job for life there. Consistently has them winning things.
The longest serving current manager in the world!
Great job loved the video I think you meant Glen Hunter rather than Kirk Hunter was part of God squad
You would be correct 🙈
A very good and interesting video about the crues and the history surrounding it lisburn whites supporter
Paul when the whites were based in distillery Street were did their support come from?

Will you and the wee man be going to the Derry senior final? Should be a great game between some of the counties star players.
I’m really hoping so.

The God squad also known as the Hackett Men 😮😂
Alton United F.C.from the Falls road area what I said to last week, in the Dublin one
Did you go up to Ballymena
I did, didn’t get video unfortunately as had the 2 kids and one of them was on my phone (which I use to video).
Did they have atheist players or something before that? I assumed the vast majority of players to ever play for Crusaders would have been Christian rather than Hindu, Islamic, Jewish, sheik etc
You should do Shamrock Rovers or Sligo Rovers next 😋 lots of mini trips within a big trip on those ones for history recaps
Gonna go all round Irish league then hit the LOI. Hopefully to coincide with next season.
No idea any of the other stuff, potentially there could be stuff on the history sections around the ground.
Ballymena vlog?
Afraid not. Had the 2 kids with me and one of them was watching peppa on my phone so couldn’t video.
