    I just had surgery today. I have grade 3 papilledema. I lost alot of under eye mass (severe sunken eye in just one year) alot of vision distortion and single blind spot peripherally left eye. The blind spot area seems to increase as time passes. So I was diagnose with IIH and bilateral venous sinuous stenosis. I just got stenting done 5 hours ago, and still in ICU observation. Two stents were placed one overlapping the other. The larger vain was treated, the thinner side was left alone. I am being treated at Presbyterian weill cornell NYC and feeling relatively good. I just hope my blind spot and distortions cause by the blind spot surrounding goes away. Actually the blind spot causes a very weird effect on the obects I focus on, it looks like the Einstein gravitational lensing that gravity forms on surrounding stars. Thats how I perceive the objects near the blind spot.
    Edit: one wierd thing is that I was already experiencing cognitive decline, well still am. I have very poor working memory for the past few months and very bad semantic memory. I forget many words that I must use in a conversation, as well as the perception of words. I am reverting to my maternal language. And also I am regressing.

    Am glad I found your channel and I pray you can give me answers which I failed to get in my country .in 2017 I started developing headaches near the eye brows they would interchange sometimes left side sometimes right side the only time I felt better was when I slept then I'll be OK I worked in an environment where everyone smoked and enjoyed strong essence in the room the essence would trigger my headaches sometimes during that time I went through emotional stress which made me drink alcohol more than I used to I had sedentary life style and I gained some weight because I wanted to lose weight I tried different fade diet eventually I did a no salt diet and that's when my sight started misbehaving if I stood up my whole vision would become white for some seconds after seeing this I added salt back and I felt better then foolish me did the diet again after losing some weight i the vision started misbehaving again but this time my heart felt strange if I stood or walked I felt like I was going to drop or have a heart I waited for a while my headaches resolved and my heart become better but my vision still persisted I went to eye doc who told me I had bilateral swelling of optic disc she asked for headache at that time I had no headache or other symptoms just the vision she said I might HV papillaedema and sent me to do MRI at the time my anxiety shot up cz she said I might have a tumor I did an MRI and everything was normal she gave me acetazolamide to reduce the swelling but my heart started pumping fast and I started noticing that when I sleep I would feel a black out in my vision so I stayed up for two weeks I saw another doc who said I had optic neurites put me on steroids and iv steroids injection and eye drops but I had no eye pain after a while I when I close one eye and look at someone I wouldnt see their face as something brown spot would be on their face but I would see properly with both eyes opened if I look to a white surface like wall close one eye and shake my head there was a blurry colourless round object appearing I later went to see a psychologist who gave me anxiety tablets this quickly resolved the black outs I was getting only a small grey vision disturbance would occur when I close my eyes then I started feeling better but I gained so much weight I couldn't lose the weight the only thing in my vision is the blind spot when I look at an object with one eye open I can't see certain objects at an angle they disappear like they not there I have never had headaches before as before I stopped alcohol and avoid smoke but my blind spot is still there I was not given a diagnosis and this worries me a lot please if you can help me I would be so grateful so I move on with my life

    Over the past couple of years I noticed my right eye gets blurry when I stand up or change positions. Sometimes it is blind for a few seconds and then recovers within 20 seconds. I happens throughout the day. I had an MRI done in February and and it was unremarkable other then mild mucosal thickening of the right sphenoid sinus. I went to the ophthalmologist about my eye issues and he said that I have a swollen right optis disc(+3) and asked me to get another MRI with contrast this time. I made an appointment but I just can't help but research ahead of time of what this might be. I know you can't diagnose over the computer but what would you start to think about as a direction for diagnosis? I am 34 year old female, not overweight, do not use any drugs, and rarely get headaches. Thank you

    • @pranesh
      @pranesh  5 років тому

      Hi. U re right. Diagnosis can’t be made over social medium. But from what u ve been experiencing it is advisable to get an MRI. Any optic disc edema/ swelling warrants neuroimaging. Kindly consult a neuro-ophthalmologist in ur place. He will refer to a neurologist if required. Don’t worry :) take care

      Diamox is safe for long term use - but it should be used at the discretion of a neurologist/ neuro-ophthalmologist. Any other doctor might not have the confidence in dealing with papilledema.
