I've always heard of this as one of the best games based on the Alien/Aliens IP. I also like the second boss - it's a xenomorph born from a Space Jockey before Prometheus and Covenant came to f**k it all. However, it looks like most bosses tank an absurd quantity of damage.

Yeah, the original design of the Xenomorph, with the trunk and the whole alien look, was very interesting, but for Prometheus, AKA "Darwin translated to dumb people", they made this stupid retcon and the Space Jockey's species became humanoid "becoz its ur creator l0l" (humanity is really egocentric), even though the corpse was clearly the body of the Space jockey, and not a suit, because it was fossilized ! Prometheus managed to make me hate a prequel because of this ! And I'm a defender of The Hobbit and the freaking Star Wars prequels, the most hated films on the internet along with Dragon Ball Evolution ! Damn you Ridley ! *start running frantically while yelling insults towards Ridley Scott*

Still, the elephant looking alien i thought was far more horrific and interesting than the results we had in the movie. Though i thought the human part was still cool. Simply because it moves with Gigers art theme. The Human bio- mechanical vision.

I know it's been 3 years since this comment but if you stand too close to a xenomorph while shooting, the blood splashing on your character deals damage but little by little. It happened to me.
There's something so eerie about the jockeymorph even though it's objectively the least dangerous out of all these bosses (The queens are bigger and badder and can breed, and the gorilla alien, though smaller, is absolutely vicious and wild)

Sweet Jesus, there's something totally horrifying about that elephant trunk looking Xenomorph at the 01:55 mark. It looks well freaky. Can't believe I've never heard of this game before. It looks pretty awesome. Edit: Ahhhh, I see it's like a Space Jockey type design.
Well technically, it was basically gunned down by a Pulse Rifle that fires (minorly) explosive ammo (the grenade launcher attachment is for multiple targets). The pistol was just the last resort.

Funny how this game was close to Colonial Marines release date. Gameplay was better, had more memorable characters by a dozen than colonial, fought Ape Xeno's, cool boss fights, and is made by Wayford all because they needed a 3DS development kit from Nintendo... I think...
For the second alien queen fight, the power loader has an alternate attack with the Y button that is more powerful. Also for the part with the switches, throw grenades to freeze the queen.
Even though this game is made by Gearbox Software and published by Sega, most of the weapon sound effects such as the pulse rifle and smartgun were from AVP2 which was developed my Monolith productions who were known for Blood and FEAR. Surprised they didn't use the ear raping sfx from the AVP fps game from 1999.
Never played this game, but looking at these boss fights I think it's safe to say it's the most well made 2D aliens title after Aliens VS Predator arcade.
It bothers me that the marines can just shoot a storm into the Xenomorphs, spraying out gallons of blood but not a drop of it causes damage. The acid blood is why fighting Xenomorphs is a losing prospect, it's half the reason they're so hard to kill! You're supposed to glass them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
I've heard a lot of people praise this game, but the bosses seem kind of boring, to be honest. If the game is as good as people say it is, I hope it's not because of the bosses.
Last Boss can be made a bit easier by : Climbing up and using EXPLOSIVE CHARGES while Boss jumps. Then use grenades, rocket launcher and Pulse rifle. Go up and refill ammo. Repeat steps above. 😄
