I'm only half into the video, and I stopped to check the comment section about how much he likes the word "like." Michael is like Patrick Rothfuss, who writes incredible pieces of art, but talks with poor vocabulary when communicating.

i just recently got interested in the faceless and i have a huge amount of love and admiration for michael keene . i wish i could be a friend to him . i identify with him on a lot of things. so much respect and he will never lose that in my view !
Should have asked him why he dropped a merch site with a bunch of older faceless stuff, and people pre ordered it like 3-4 years ago and no one received anything while he just ignored peoples comments/deleted them and ignored paypal claims. Stealing money from fans is awful, this dude needs to be ignored.
I can't believe this is 3 years old. Mike looks INSANELY young. Am I the only one who 'actually' didnt recognize of him because of his age? He looks different, too. Very, very healthy, mid 30 y/o dude.. good for him, I'm just fking shocked. Edit: as an example, Keane fans (especially guitar fans) certainly remember when he was showcasing a bit of Planetary at NAMM 2009? That was literally 15 years ago. He looks younger today. Not hyperbolically. Quite literally. I can't believe what I'm seeing wtf
i so needed this podcast. i've been googling any news on the faceless and michael for so long. god. thank you guys. glad that michael is also doing well
@@brucedao2360 Eh, but hopefully he puts some serious heart into it. In Becoming A Ghost could have been soooo much better. It sucks that he lost the 2nd best lineup The Faceless has ever had. Dude certainly has won the title of the Dave Mustaine of death metal for sure.
Glad to hear love for Jeff. After seeing the Faceless at Summer Slaughter in Santa Ana, he immediately became my favorite DM vocalist. For years, I've been saying his low growls are "the scariest sound ever made by a human" lol... hearing Mike say the same thing had me yellin out loud hahaaaa

I feel really bad that Michael's gift is so closely related to late nights and shady acquaintances. You have to be on another level to be able to perform and live that lifestyle without partying at all. I think that back when The Faceless was at apex, there was no way around the house party, tour bus, gritty DIY metal lifestyle. I think that anything to do with music or art and gatherings there will be some darkness attracted to it, it's inevitable. Just one wrong line and all of a sudden you are done. The music is always secondary once the drugs take hold.
So I get it... If I don't like it don't watch it... I want to like it. I like you guys. I'm not sure if you guys are just trying to pass the time with yourselves or entertain the fans. I wasn't sure what to expect with Keene as he appears (from afar) to have a prima donna personality (was surprised he would even do this), but it all seemed very normal/underwhelming for who you are actually interviewing. It's friggin' Michael Keene! THE FACELESS. Maybe everyone was too trashed to think or hesitant to ask anything potentially controversial. How can such a normal discussion happen in 3 hours with a guy who has had a million guys go through his band, endlessly toured the world, done a ton of guest solos on other critically important albums. I get you don't want to create too much trash talking. Maybe more tour stories from foreign lands, ask why so much band drama, unique gigs, regrets, what's the future hold, recent bands he likes... what does he like to drink or is he in recovery? Chocolate or vanilla... how did he meet his wife... I think a bunch of former members are now in the Zenith Passage... what does he think about that? Idk... something off the wall vs. an overview of Wikipedia facts. I do like starting from the beginning of their lives as a warm up intro but its gotta jump into some meat pretty quick after that.

Every album Michael has done has been pure shred perfect
I remember Planetary Duality from back in the day... such an iconic album for me... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
I love this man’s music. But I’ll be fucked if I have ever heard a person say “like” that much.

Really hope one day Keene can kick the junk. He's such an inspiration to me as a guitar player.
Met Mike in Oakland on the first Planetary Duality tour when they played with Decrepit Birth. Good times
Always been a fan of the Faceless. Hope to hear a new album coming in the future. New segment for the podcast of how big is your pick was sweet.

The fact that Keene toured with The Motels is mind blowing. Could have never guessed that.
I remember seeing the faceless in chicago around the release of akadama necrophagist was heading the tour fond memories
Wow, what an insane lineup
I remember seeing The Faceless and Dying Fetus on the same tour years ago in Vegas. Excited to see what's next!
I remember that they played the whole album of planet duality n ended the show with the song An autopsy

legit laughing my ass off when Anthony tells Michael to tell his dad that he'll accept jesus on his death bed lol
