Daily Devo | The Riches of Contentment (Ecclesiastes 6:1-12)

Not only can wealth not bring true happiness, but it is also so easy to lose - as modern bank failures have reminded us. Instead, contentment with what we have is a much greater kind of wealth. Sabbath can be a perfect opportunity to turn from the pursuit of wealth to the enjoyment of the blessings we already have.

Now I have a better understanding of the meaning behind the first half of this book - meant to drive us to examine ourselves and everything we wish for and work for. All can be so meaningless. Yes, practice Sabbath and be mindful of all the input that drives our dissatisfaction - Gratitude the true key to happiness!!! Thank you!

“we spend all this mental energy around dissatisfaction” and “dissatisfaction is the opposite of gratitude”. It seems obvious when I say it, but it is not how I live. I’d like to spend my mental energy on gratitude!
