Awesome book! I had a few of the original 66 Batmobiles, I had the first edition, then the 70s edition with the plastic tires. Now recently Corgi reissued the original version from 66 with the red bat emblem on the wheels. I just received it a few weeks ago. And what a beautiful rendition it is! Absolutely stunning! Glad Corgi decided to remake this Gem!
I have much bigger and more accurate Batmobiles now, but there will always be a soft spot in my heart for the original Corgi Batmobile. I had given away the original one when I left home for university and then I had immediately replaced it in 1983. I got a brand new Corgi Batmobile in its box for only $35 USD plus shipping. They now easily go for 20 times that amount.
Great video mate💪I brought a original 66 corgi batmobile with the original box 4 years ago from I guy in Sydney who owned a collection car shop it's in very great condition and still have it tucked away in the cardboard has all the rubber wheels figure are in perfect condition really enjoyed the video cheers
Like a lot of people, I used to have a Batmobile. It was probably a late 60s or very early 70s one, and for some strange reason it struck me as a good idea to shove the Batman figure through the back door of a big die cast London bus. Never could get him out again though, and my sainted mum gave it to a jumble sale while I was at school. It wasn't the first time or the last she'd pull that particular stunt... Cheers, mum...😱😭😂
I had one of these that was the first version. Today, 2023, I'm 58 years old and I got one in the trailer version, it's a shame I didn't find the first version... I've had it for about 5 years or more... I have great memories of my stroller along with the my FATHER and my GRANDFATHER because they tried to fix the shock absorber on my first version and I was a little girl watching them fix it... hahaha I miss that time. Thank you for sharing this material with us. Please include in the description where to buy this copy of the book. Ass. POLILO - Guarulhos-SP BRAZIL.
Still have my 1973 version, with the sticker, and the missles still in their sprue (except for one or two) and the box. Also got the helicopter and the boat.....
Cool video Marc, I didn't realise there was so many different versions and variations of the batmobile! I still need to send you pics of the batmobile I have so you can confirm which one I have mate? Looking forward to the aston martin video now 👍
Awesome vid! I'm ordering my book today! Thanks for sharing! :-) I own a pristine 1978 (16/78 on the inside box flap). I'm 55 my Grandmother bought it for me in June of '78. I recently bought a replica box because the old window in the original box was tearing and disintegrating. Of course I kept the original box. A guy in the UK does awesome box replica work. I ordered from him.
Yes if you’d like to watch my other Batmobile videos I have the customiser show how he does them. I need to put a link to the book in the description 😆
Hi hope is well, question I too am a big fan of the batmobile been restoring a few I noticed on some castings I purchased that the slasher blade spring on some of the castings some of them are a bit longer then others, would you happen to know why?
They were using so many different parts from where ever they could source them. So many variations of all the parts over the years. Hope you are having success with the restorations.
Yes I got where I am getting pretty good at it except the slasher blade spring I need to try the different sizes to see which ones work best on my spare castings...I try to use the parts of the same castings most the time. I'd send you some pictures but I don't know how.
Hello, The B type box (yellow 1970-1972) was sale with a Bat-Hub car and have the wrong spare tyres info "For spare tyres ask for FRONT - 1457 REAR - 1456" on the flap. Remember, Batmobile have 1456 tyres on front and rear! The 1457 is for the trailer’s Batboat. Corgi 270 James Bond box was presented in this book because has a mistake printing also !!! This 270 "B type" box have the wrong spare tyres info "For spare tyres ask for FRONT - 1457 REAR - 1456" on the flap like Batmobile's box! Why they are "FOR SPARE TYRES ASK FOR - FRONT - N°1457 REAR - N°1456" printed on the inside flap (Batmobile and Aston Martin' boxes) ? 🤔 Regards
Hello, in this book, the Corgi 267 Batmobile with the first type 'RED DOT WHIZZWHEELS' with rubber tyre as presented wich a "Code 3" (This is the refinishing or alteration of a model, without the consent of the manufacturer.). This is a warning, because somes Red Dot batmobile sell on Internet like a genuine car! But it's a liar.
Hello After reading this book, we can say that : If you can find a Bat-Hub Batmobile with both noses filled in and the tail lights filled in you have a very rare type Batmobile on your hands!! 3.7 - Batmobile 1972 "Short tail fin, taillight filled-in, two noses filled-in, long slot", the two bat-emblems on the side of this Batmobile were noticeably thinner. If you can find Trailer with tyres type 1450 and silver shaped wheel hubs you have a very rare Trailer on your hands!! 1.3 - Trailer with tyres type 1450 and silver shaped wheel hubs (this usually came with cast spoked wheel hubs, so this could be something of a rarity) - early 1973. Only for “Tin Fin” Batboat. Here is what is rarest, because only a few models have been built, really few.. If you have this couple in mint condition, your are very lucky! Regards

Have a few myself and I've done a few videos. Best Toy ever
This book is a good documentaion guide!
Got a view 267's.
Even one mint in the box from 1966.

Oh nice. Still looking for a decent one myself.

I lost my Robin down the overflow, I was devastated.

When I bought the Batmobile, I actually expected a real flame (like on a cigarette lighter) to come out the back.
Hopefully you didn't recreate it 😆
Corgi. Batmobile. History. Book
Great stuff👍
Cheers mate 👍🏻

Thank you for the info, it’s something that you won’t see again I’m afraid. Toy companies don’t care about their product anymore. Or their customers.

Yes it does say that in the book, I should of been more clear on that. My apologies.

Hated wiz wheels and the half plastic see through boxes
Those were my first ones unfortunately
