I have been looking for a video about this for the longest time! In my mind this made sense but couldn't find anyone else having done this. Thank you so much!
@TrentsOvertimeGarage I have rebuilt original gages. Went from 6v to 12v but my tyranny is digital. So I need to get this done. I'm not a mechanic but I have a mechanic. Can he contact you and how ?
Don’t know if you ever got a sending unit to work with the new fuel gauge, I put a Reed style sending unit in my 53 and love it , remember to match the ohms to get them to work correctly
Hi nice video, I also have a 53' I'm having issues with speedo it jumps all around it's set to 80, and when running it goes to 90, 0, 10, 20. I see I can get a new replacement speedo for $139.00 off eBay. It looks something like yours. How is it to remove from dash and replace, do you just remove 4 nuts and pull the guage off from under dash. Looking to do this soon, thanks if you could answer that for me
Yeah, it’s not too bad to remove. It’s just really tight up behind there. You just need to figure out how to undo the 4 nuts and pull it out. I remember it requiring a lot of patience.
Yeah, they are Bosch FST8205 for voltage, FST8201 for water temp, FST8202 for oil temp, FST8209 for fuel gauge. That steering wheel is a repro for a 55-56 Chevy car, but 3" smaller in diameter. I think it's great too! Part number: RP-20001.
T.O. those gauges came out beautiful and I love that steering wheel.. Do u know if they make a 3 in smaller version of the 61-62 Chevy impala wheel. .. Trent is the truck completed yet? Take care my friend..
I appreciate the video, with the grossly overpriced gauges in the market this is a great option. Quick question, where did you get the steering wheel from?

Great! Have you figured out how to upgrade your speedo to electronic?

@@TrentsOvertimeGarage ok Kool thank you for getting back to me, did you replace the whole speedometer, or did you just replace the guts. Thanks again
Whole speedometer, but the guts of the other gauge assembly
@@TrentsOvertimeGarage ok Trent, thank you
Nice job, do you have a parts list of the gauge part numbers? Also love the steering wheel, what's it off of?

It’s a 55 Chevy retro 15” steering wheel. I think I just found it on google or eBay.
