I then imagine a funny scene where JH goes to the real Mandarin's HQ and is greeted by the fake one, but he knows all along who's who so he just mocks the fake one for his failure and demands an audience with the real one, which then proceeds to the revelation. If not that, it's JH that visits the fake one in jail, stating that the real Mandarin is about to put him out of commission for his failure. It would've been nice as well to see an Easter egg, where the real Mandarin calls his son (now we know as Shang-chi), asking him how his training is progressing, and expressing the idea that if Justin Hammer fails as well, then it's Shang-chi who will kill Tony. Shang-chi ultimately decides to defect, which foreshadows the events in the Shang-chi film, so Mandarin eventually decides to confront Tony which leads to a showdown.

It never really made sense to me why a guy with magical rings and ties to alien dragons is Iron Man greatest foe when Tony Stark is all about science and business down to Earth. They just sit on two different spectrums.
Honestly, that's what I enjoyed about their rivalry. The Contrast between Stark's earthly technology and the Mandarin's Alien tech that boarders on mysticism creates a pretty great Dichotomy that makes it unique. (it's the same reason why I enjoy Superman and Lex Luthor's rivalry.) Though I have no issue with Shang Chi fighting him as well since I liked the backstory.
@@ironphantom4912 Yeah I agree that contrasts make for very good stories but for me the contrast in this case is just too big and it becomes convoluted.
And this is why they shouldn't have killed Iron Man. He never faced his archnemesis. Also, with the Fantastic 4 and other characters on the way, it is a shame that Iron Man and Captain America will never interact with them. So many missed opportunities were missed and will be missed. The MCU is legendary but a hero not facing his archnemesis is just too big of an oversight to be forgiven.

Found this character called Rocket Racer in one of my dads old web of Spider-Man comics from the eighties. You should do a history of video for him. I would like to know more
Comic book Mandarin was just so much better. The MCU did the Mandarin what, like 3 times? They never hit the mark once. I agree with the real Mandarin vs Iron Man fight being a HUGE missed opportunity.
The Mandarin was the reason why Tony Stark became Iron man and is an integral part of Marvel, shame on discriminative Hollywood for hiding that part of the story for so long. With Trevor Slattery they tried to whitewash The Mandarin. I hope than we get an origin story about The Mandarin in its own right someday.
Mandarin only played a role in Tony becoming Iron Man in the MCU. Remember he was introduced a year after Iron Man. As well his involvement in Tony becoming Iron Man in the MCU is circumstantial. For starters the cell didn't have the exact same symbol as Wenwu's 10 Rings as they had different characters (I am aware it is a modern update but it adds a degree of seperation). As well the cell was clearly not always doing Wenwu's work as they hired themselves out to Obadiah Stane. As it stands everything the 10 Rings cell did in Iron Man had nothing to do with the Mandarin. Given that Wenwu only restarted the 10 rings in 2007 or 2008 (given his wife died in late 2006 early 2007), I suspect they were an off shoot with little supervision by Wenwu. So Wenwu has very little to actually do with Iron Man's creation in the MCU. As for your comment about whitewashing with Trevor Slattery, that was absolutely the point of the character. A villain dressed him up as a foreign threat to stoke fear. It is little using the foreign peril that was a big part of the original Mandarin. While he did not end up being the same as the comic Mandarin I maintain Iron Man 3's version of the Mandarin is great.
@@trueblue6201 Thats the whitewashed MCU version of Mandarin you are quoting. The Marvel Comics Mandarin was Iron Man biggest rival, and lasted more than just a few episodes. Almost all super villain or criminal organization originated in the Ten Rings, even Hydra. So Wenwu or the Mandarin had all the strings in control in the entire Marvel Universe.
@@BingDwenDwen I didn't quote any one. As for being his biggest rival there was a literal 10 year period where the Mandarin was not used in comics. Both Obadiah Stane and Justin Hammer did more damage to Stark then the Mandarin ever did in the comics. I have never heard of this rumor where the 10 Rings was where Hydra came from.
Downey was done
You can’t have him floating around in the background.
Can you do history of Alfred Pennyworth, Batwing, Flame Bird, Batwoman, Azrael, Signal(Duke Thomas), Bluebird, Stephanie Brown and Carrie Kelly?
For Real Especially On Alfred Pennyworth
We all know Ben Kingsley would have made a perfect real mandarin too that's the worst part
I really liked his costume in iron man 3. Thought he looked so badass
ben kingsley is white lmao
@@bennett4789 I don't give a shit if he's white black or fucking green he's an amazing actor but I do like who they have playing him in shang-chi
I like the Mandarin from Iron Man Armored Adventures!
Same here
Man I still wish the developed the Mandarin from Iron Man 3. He was so good imo.
Perfectly timed.
I like the guy who did the advertisement he seemed sincerely
You should do history of Darkhawk
IRON MAN GOT A HALF CHUB AT 4:18
The Margarine (see commenter below!) and Lady Marmalade dive into Mardi Gras with the Madrigals and go around mardarin’ others by way of a Scottish accent.
I personally love that character a lot
I was here when this video still had *_M A R D A R I N_* in the title
Saw the new Shang-Chi movie. Exceed my expectations!
Uncanny Xmen 256 is one of the best comics showing off Mandarins hand to hand combat skills
I love this channel, that is all.
Great timing, Just saw this Amazing Movie :)
Who do you think would win between Thanos and the Mandarin? Thanos has the Infinity Stones and the Mandarin has the Ten Rings
Thanos. Not even remotely close dude
The Mardarin.
I love the mardarin
Found this character called Rocket Racer in one of my dads old web of Spider-Man comics from the eighties. You should do a history of video for him. I would like to know more
Rocket Racer appeared in the 1994 Spider-Man series Season 3 Episode 5 Rocket Racer if you want to give that a watch.
Thanks quinones!! Blessings to all your team 👏✊🏻👐🏻
MANDARIN 😎
Just been to see it. Good timing!
Saw the movie, liked it, especially Win Woo the
Mandarin!
Wenwu. It is the combination of Wen (civil administration) and Wu (martial administration).
Finally the history of the orange
Watching shang-chi and legend of the ten rings tonight wish me luck.🥤🍿
Plz do a history of poison ivy
I use to have the comic showing all the rings and powers growing up i think my little brother still has it
I'm glad they combined the Mandarin's & Shang-Chi's dad's backstories for the MCU as the source material for the latter is.... fucking controversial
"controversial"
Stop being a wuss.
Cool, about to watch Shang Chi
Comic book Mandarin was just so much better. The MCU did the Mandarin what, like 3 times? They never hit the mark once. I agree with the real Mandarin vs Iron Man fight being a HUGE missed opportunity.
FORTUNATELY WE HAVE ARMORED ADVENTURES' ONE, THAT WAS THE DEFINITVE ADAPTATION OF MANDARIN
I have the same comic book a awesome read
Love your videos
Provide a source for that.
@@trueblue6201 Yeah, in Iron Man 268 they showed Mandarin's role in Iron Man's origin.
Got to say I was a bigger fan of the fumachu Comics because the guy was a straight up war beast

they mess up the mandarin AGEAIN .
i just wanted to see Irion man vs the mandarin its it really so much to ask for
To Mcu writers, yes
@@ArcTrooper269 how can you mess up 1 character so freaking BAD so many times
batman has his joker - every time & movies
Irion man has mandarin - never face echoer once in the MCU
This Mandarin’s origin would be good in the MCU. What Marvel could do is have different people take on the name or just have this guy claim he’s the actual Mandarin or him just take on that name.
What a wasted opportunity. They should have had him go up against iron man when they had the chance.
Do one on Force Works
Shang-Chi had a great villain... but he was not the Manderine. Totally different story. Wasn't even 10 rings. They were bracelets. They didn't have different powers either. Loved the story they came up with the villain but it would have been better if they just gave this villain a different name
Yo where is the podcast
