Well, you can't just ram people on TV if they have no mic skills. Doing 50 high spots a match means nothing after a week if the person can't speak on the mic. You have to have people who can get themselves over in multiple ways.

There were people on AEW tv that had were do nothings. The matches weren't interesting. They never spoke on the mic. There was hardly any angles. And there doing spots that should be reserved for one ppv a year not ever week on dark. I think Tony is slowly learning with networks advice and why certain people got titles. Kris Statlander and Orange Cassidy that were misused. I mean look at the Bunny being released and other people. Is Tony finally realizing you cant higher the idiot friends of friends who can't talk on the mic and nobody knows about.

If a wrestler isn’t good on the mic, but is great in the ring; then the solution is to give that wrestler a manager. The wrestler can work on the promo skills backstage behind the camera.

@@darnellwallace3746They don't need a manager. The in-ring speaks for itself. But you can't have everyone not being able to speak. Someone like Deeb doesn't need a manager -- she needs tv time.

80’s remedy for huge bulk muscular guys that couldn’t get over on the mic was Managers!!!! Bring back great managers, that’ll be a plus any way u slice it but yea I agree, we’ve seen all the high spots let’s get some good stories goin.

@@darnellwallace3746some people like that could benefit from a manager for sure like what Paul Heyman did for Brock Lesnar. On the other hand, if you have the right person and right creative then certain talent might not need a manager even if they don’t have mic skills. Look at Goldberg back in the days of the streak, it was better that he didn’t talk or have a mouthpiece talking for him.

I agree with everything Eric says here 💯, but Tony Khan's biggest problem is he simply doesn't know what he's doing. He's had stars and let them fade. Look at Wardlow and Miro. Tony struck gold with them and pissed it away.

that happens with everyone. it happened in wwe and and in wcw. it happens because of betting on the wrong guy or bad booking that ruined a career (austin theory with money in the bank us title cash-in) or just bad timing.
tony is new to the game, he fails and he learns. the show has gone better, and the flip-flop wrestlers are not the main attraction of the show anymore.

A big part of it. Is because social media and IWC is louder than ever. WWE and WCW always had this problem. Now more than ever, every wrestler has a fanbase and they complain about "when their guy doesn't get time or they can't get over". Eric is right 100%, there is no formula for getting guys over, regardless of what the IWC wants to say. Folks always have a million ideas and then folks have a million reasons why they won't work. Most payoffs are not scripted or planned, tho some are, it's not easy. The decision makers make a lot of mistakes, only guys like Vince, Eric and others know this. TV time does not equal being over, the guy has to sell it (Cena was/is gold on the mic). Khan lives by social media and fears failure, denies failure and never learns.

They should be on tv every week, or every other week. The issue isn't that Tony doesn't rate them, it's that he doesn't know how to book them. Right before the Invasion angle, WWE had the perfect amount of guys. There was around 50ish guys and like 10ish women, that were able to be featured on tv regularly. And you could enjoy the top guys of course but you could also see the younger/newer guys progress and develop. you could see Tajiri, and crash, and rhyno, and others getting better at the WWE style. And you could see guys who were missing something try to repackage themselves and add new dimension, a new finish or something. That quest to progress and move up the card that is the best storytelling there is. Seeing eddie guerrero progress from cruiserweight to IC, to world champ, is infinitely more interesting than the b-movie storylines. Seeing christian progress from a skinny mute in a stable to a mainevent star is the best part of wrestling. Those journeys are what eric bischoff didnt get in WCW and what tony khan doesnt get today.

As much I had despised Eric during his time in WCW and TNA, at least he knew how to handle talent much better than Tony. That's a fact. I believe on one of his podcast, Eric explained the reason why he had so many shows a week because his roster was overloaded. Take for example, WCW Pro in the mid 90's was jobbers vs lower card guys. WCW Saturday and Worldwide, was similar but this time it was mostly mid cards against either a lower card or jobber. Plus on Nitro, he mostly let the luchadores and cruiserweights have their own matches in the middle of the show while the upper card and main eventer for their last hour of the show. Another thing was at least Eric had his limit when it came to signing the amount of wrestlers from other countries. Tony just signed every Japanese and Mexican wrestlers that came through that door. Whenever Tony got rid of Dark for a higher program Collision, I wasn't too happy about it because Dark was the showcase for the lower card talent or wrestlers made a one time appearance.

I loved AEW up until around a year ago, but now im bored with all the table spots/30 close kickouts on every episode of dynamite. Sometimes less is more. Save this stuff for the ppvs.
Also they have obsession with no world title rematches unless forced through an injury. So you have Jericho, Moxley or Hangman on top and when they lose the title they just fade into midcard. This not only ruins moumentum for them but doesn't make sense as why would they be the best one minute then justt forget about it the next. They would be obsessed with getting the title back. I get that it can get boring but you can get 3 matches easily out of a title rivalry if the characters are interesting enough.
Apart from MJF/Cole i cannot think of one decent storyline that they have done which ends on a cliff hanger everyweek making you want to tune in next week. Dont even get me started on the amount of boring/ forced groups they have....yes im looking at you Bullet club gold.

A storyline is one of the most important aspects in wrestling. WCW and WWE always did a good storyline with Goldberg, he couldn’t talk on the mic, and he was subpar in the ring, but the storylines always hooked people. AEW will create a storyline that should be a 6 month affair, and turns it into a 6 hour affair. Look at how they book MJF for example, every time he is involved in a storyline that might be intriguing, he’s already being thrown in another angle before the first one was concluded in a PPV match. The feud he had with CM Punk was entertaining, and should still be happening, but it was over before it really started gaining full steam.

I live AEW, I want them to succeed, I watch the programs and 99% of Eric’s takes on the company are correct and fair…
I agree there’s only so much Tv time to get guys over and AEW book ROH title matches on AEW Tv which takes time away from everything else…
I’ve always been a fan of how old school bookers booked their world champions, where when you saw the champion it was special, promos and segments were used to build up the big match where the champion and the challenger both had their short spots to build to the payoff which was the Pay Per View or Main Event Special, otherwise the world champion rarely wrestled on Tv… you focus on the story…
Not every show, every week has to have 3 or 4 title matches on each card as this again eats up Tv time which could be used to get the next number 1 contender over and upper level talents having rivalries and feuds in between…
Not every match in the show has to be this 20+ minute athletic spectacle, save most of those for the PPV’s, example you have a top level guy in AEW going 15 minutes with a tag team guy or a jobber nobody wants to see, which devalues your top guys, squash matches work and realistically not everyone can be in the top 10 guys, when every throwaway match is going 15 minutes plus it also wars away at Tv time, here’s an example if it takes John Moxley 15 minutes or more to beat John Silver of the Dark Order, that’s not doing Mox any good, in fact it’s making him look weaker than he should be. Imagine if Bill Goldberg at the height of WCW had 15+ minute matches with every jobber he faced on that streak… he wouldn’t have been the star he became in the end and wouldn’t have been half as over as he was at that time, Goldberg got over because he hit hard, hit fast and crushed everyone that was out in front of him…
Tv time is money, it’s a limited commodity, by all means have a competitive match every week but save that for the main event and hype that match up throughout the show. I agree with Eric on the necessity of a formulaic plan for every week as it’s an episodic Tv show, plan your run sheet and sometimes leave a cliffhanger… remember that Smackdown cliffhanger when Brock did the SuperPlex to Show and the ring collapsed?… the show ended there but boy was I looking forward to next week to see where they went with this. The same with Nitro if you had a huge betrayal where a guy turned on his best friend and joined the NWO I’d be eagerly waiting for the following week to hear why he did it?… it was an episodic cliffhanger and it worked to keep me invested in the show…
You’ve got limited people left in the business from years gone by that aren’t in WWE, Eric and JC have offered to give so much advice to TK and it’s not from a negative place but from a place of wanting to help to see another company reach that next level…

There's a profound reason behind Vince McMahon's success with WWF/WWE from the Attitide Era to the Ruthless Aggression, through the Reality Era. The same top stars rotated the main title, meantime writer's kept bringing the juice with great stories from spectacular writers. Upon the dawn of a new age, then came a new era in that company alonv with the passing of the top torches to the upcoming top stars. Keep the recipe the same, the formula top notch, and the operation simple what you've got is longevity. You never compete with the top dog, you study and learn from them.

In the last year I've come to REALLY enjoy hearing Bischoffs perspective. Often times he'll say things I've been saying for years. Other times he'll say things that I hadn't considered, but fully agree with. It seems to be very rare for me to just disagree with Bischoff.
In this case he's saying things that I've been saying for literal years. AEW has had for a long time, an overabundance of amazinf talent to make small talk at catering. Ethan Page is a great example. The guy can do comedy, serious drama, love stories, in addition to being a great in-ring worker. I've followed him since 2013. When he signed with AEW I figured it was a breakout role for him. Instead, he's been mostly ignored.
I hate to saw that AEW should "trim the fat", because in this case, it's not fat. It's just bloat. Amazing wrestlers who never see the lense of camera doesn't do anybody any good.
Meanwhile, Dynamite a few weeks ago featured CMLL and AAA guys, along with New Japan guys. Wrestlers I'd never heard of, and had no idea why I should care. And the problem is, the next week they were gone. You're supposed to do that when your roster is spread thin, and you need to fill time.
You want to put over stars? Where's Danhausen?" Where's Miro? Where's Pillman Jr? Wheres Ethan Page? I'm SHOCKED they're doing good things with Ricky Starks, because he's the type of guy to be on these lists. Full of talent, so I would have expected TK to ignore him in favor of "Masked Wrestler who won't be seen again #54963"
I've LOVED Tony Storm's rise. But I wish Jon Moxley had a bigger role. At this oint the BCC is holding everybody involved back.
Hook should be just ripping everybodies asses.
Serve vs Hangman may actually be the only story you've told on AEW this year. Everything else is "Here's a bunch of random shit from talented workers that won't matter next week."
And it makes me lose interest in the show. I WANT to like AEW. I even want to like ROH. But it's hard when TK says "That was the best Dynamite we've ever done" after putting on a show that I said "Was a miss." TK doesn't see or believe the problems, which means they can't be fixed, because he doesn't think they're problems.

But, as history has shown, you get a guy doing the gimmick who lives it, who breathes it, who believes in it and who also evolves it, and it can last thirty years.

Who are the 2 to 4 women going for the women's title? Those are the top talent and the rest is filler. I just think AEW has WAY too much unimportant/unimpressive people on the roster and just as damaging they have some of those people being constantly pushed. They are pushed just because some internet marks think they have a “great work rate” or because Tony likes dressing up as them for Halloween, so that must mean everyone else loves them too. People need to accept that AEW is a vanity project for the son of a Billionaire to play out his fantasies of being a mix between Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon. Even after years of having this company, it still feels, looks, and operates like a knock off promotion ran by inexperienced people. Nonsensical or non existent storytelling. Matches made only because some hardcore fans will call it a dream match. Certain Talent thinking they are a modern day mixture of Mick Foley and Stone Cold just because they constantly bleed and give the camera and audience the finger. Other talent thinking if they dive off of things through tables etc or do constant acrobatic high spots, it means they are like The Hardy brothers or Rey Mysterio in their primes. That’s AEW.

Every wrestler Rises as his or her own pace and when it's time the company is supposed to realize that and really get behind that wrestler Not to the Bianca, Charlotte, Roman or John Cena level where the company is so behind their SuperPush that it actually hurts their Character even if they are Over cause people just get sick of them being pushed down their throats winning Constantly.
Then you have guys that have Momentum but are Not Ready that the Wrestling Companies Love to go "They are getting a Reaction, Push Them!" And they are more of a slow Build Wrestler that needs to fail and succeed at their own pace and if pushed Too Hard or Not hard enough could potentially ruin what little Momentum they have.
Take Jack Swagger for instance, He came in as a Bully Character and was given a pretty good Push in ECW, and he eventually beat Christian for the ECW World Title but then then they ruined him by Not only taking him off ECW too soon but also giving him a Succeed or Die MitB and Eventual World Title Run that NOBODY thought he was Ready for at the time.
Then WWE blame Jack Swagger for Failing when it was actually their Failure that pushed him too Soon before he was Ready.
Now he wasn't the wrong guy, it was just too Soon, I know this cause when he was Ready and they didn't Push him it hurt his Momentum that they could have Capitalized on when he was doing the whole"We The People" gimmick with Zeb Colter after a slight Character Tweek which made him Better more well rounded of a character.
Was he The Rock or Austin No! But then again Nobody is.
Jack should have had a Good Dominant Run in ECW winning the Belt atleast Twice in two years then put on whatever show had the US Title and gave him the Foreign Heel Run where he wins as a Heel then takes the Belt to WrestleMania and Loses in Grand Fashion to sone really Over BabyFace Character then let him do his thing for about a year maybe getting another US Title or Tag Team but shorter Reign and then when he has a couple of Accolades under his Belt then you put him with Colter and Not Right away but let his Momentum Build and when the Arena's ate chanting "We The People" in Unison every Night then you strike and give him the MitB or just have him beat a World Champion in a Big Storyline and that's when he was Ready to be Champion.
WWE are making a similar Mistake with Bron Breaker Right Now, he should have the US Title instead of Logan Paul it would have worked but the WWE are Stalemating him in NXT even know the best time to move him to the Main Roster was after his Heel turn.
