Was watching this video but I don't think some of this is possible. If a hacker resets your password, the app you have and use should no longer have access to the account. Typically when you reset a password then you need to re-enter the password in any app that was connected. I'd say the sign you were hacked when they change your password is that you can no longer access your account!!! Now, if they have your password, then they can change the bank accounts and other stuff while still maintaining the illusion that everything is fine. Nice thing about Webull is there is a secondary password/layer they have for making trades (a trading password), so it's a bit more secure I'd say than what it seems like you have with Robinhood.

@L T I did too, a few months back. TDA website has a wealth of information, their phone apps are simple and advanced enough, and although I don't day--trade I find thinkorswim very useful in options trading.
first of all i'm glad you're teaching people about password managers and 2FA. With google auth as you mentioned you need to make sure U sure you have the backup code written down somewhere (safe, cold storage) and at multiple locations/way of storing!! (for instance your house burns down (unlikely to happen but it's possible) so you might loose your phone and the notes on paper = no way to get your 2FA back.) And about password managers, a few days ago a website i had a account on had a massive data breach (happend a few months ago). Sure my personal data is stolen but at least my password was random generated which means i don't have to worry about my (probably 100's) of other accounts!

@@jamers.99 yes it can. However the difference is between the support of an app only based platform and a fully functional platform which has phone email chat support plus physical branch locations
Just by the way you sound.. we all know that you gonna move this robinhood account to Webull.. you didn’t even advertise robinhood at the end of the vid bro.. since day one robinhood has been to go to be truthful.. I know it’s a lot, but sometimes it’s best to pay for commissions.
Because Robinhood didn't make this video, I found out earlier this week that there appears to be no recourse. I transfered all my money out into Fidelity this week. I'm real tech savvy, but I don't want to be when it comes to my brokerage, Fidelity has been covering peoples money for ever, and I can call them. The fact that they haven't said anything public about this is unacceptable in my opinion, which is why I'm out. You shouldn't have to worry about general internet browsing and email checking that your trading account has been hacked, or 2fa honestly. Robinhood started something great, but now they aren't keeping up with infastructure. Also your money is insured up to 1.2 mill, not a messily 250k. It may be a more difficult system, and not as an appealing UI, but it's safe, and they have solid communication lines, and offer 10x the services, seems like a no brainier honestly.. No phone number? You really want to work with someone who has NO phone number.. my corner store has a phone number, Apple has a phone number, you NEED a #, rediculious. If I had realized this before hand, I never would have put money in, good thing they got me when I was young and dumb. No offence to anyone. I'm guilty.
Just did everything you said and set it up to "immediately", but when I open the app it just asks me for the pin. When does it ask for the 2-factor code?
As a former stock broker the two things we always recommend were 1) Two step authentication, and 2) Voice Verification (for when you called in). Problem solved. Hackers buy tens of thousands of emails on the black market. Loop through passwords on popular sites that usually set email as user name. If they get in, then you face these problems. Also, change your passwords every 90 days.
True! It happened to me the automatic sell of shares but that only happens when you have Robinhood gold and not enough funds. Robinhood would sell your stocks to cover the $5 fee per month you pay
I have never used RobinHood but I've used Stash, and they are similar. Fidelity is a real broker, doesn't charge any fees, and offers a lot more options as well as a visa card that gives 2% cash back into your brokerage or retirement account.
Same, went to Fidelity, it was real easy and smooth to do, surprised me. So many offerings as well like you said. The fact that Robinhood has said nothing public is nuts.
Question i got all my money pulled out of Robinhood wondering how long does it take to deactivate my account? It says it might tske upto 3 days to respond, wondering how you guys did to deactivate tour accounts im done with Robinhood.
Robinhood's master plan was to rob it's users while they slept and give it to their board and executives. Sounds kinda familiar to that movie Robi... oh wait... 😳
My 2 cents: An authenticator app is best, but SMS for 2FA is better than not enabling it at all. A password manager is the best option, but choosing unique random passwords and writing them down is better than reusing the same easy-to-remember password everywhere.
we wear the mask I had a total of $36K and today I sold $10K of my stocks of course I have to wait til Robinhood transfer it to my bank but it will go into Fidelity than I’m taking a lost on a few high risk investments that I know will turn around soon once I sell those I will pull down appro. $13K and that will go in Acorn and maybe Fidelity the rest which will be AAPL TSLA and JNJ I bought low and can’t see myself buying them now at these prices
kokalti if your emails is compromised you can be hacked on other brokers too, or any kind of online service for that matter. This is not a RH issue per se. Any website that allows password reset by email (and most do) is at risk, unless you have two factors authentication.
Max I’m mainly talking about emergencies. If I have a emergency with my bank I can call them 24/7. The fact that if you have an emergency with Robin Hood, you have to dig and find some silly form on their app is a joke
Thanks for these videos 💓 it really helps 💓 well I will also say this here as much as I have been successful in stock so far, I also advice we get involved with bitcoin trading mostly now that the market is very bullish and profitable if you trade with a working strategy/daily signals.
you can take advantage of the market involving yourself in day trading or copying trade alert from a professional trader that understand the market and use strategy to generate signals daily to make profit to grow your portfolio as I have been doing with Mr Marcos Romero
the past 5 weeks and I have been able to day trade to grow my initial 0.8btc to 6.8btc which you would rethink and see that trading is better/profitable Mr Marcos Romero daily signals is very accurate and always yeilds a positive return on investment
Good thing I'm tech savvy, and know how to protect my accounts. It'll take millions of years for them to steal my shit. Also, this is user error. Not RH's fault. Granted, they should be informing their customers about this type of shit. Charles Schwab does.
@@philipjohn1338 maybe but the institutional brokers objectively do a better job. Robinhood is 7 years old and seems to have an annual controversy. I applaud them for bringing change and affordability to finance that helps small guys (which is all of us here except Andre), I wouldn’t celebrate them and am hesitant to trust with any substantial portion of my retirement, other than my $100 and free stock, of course ;)
Sure, I would absolutely expect all brokerages to invest heavily in effective cyber security measures to ensure accounts are not looted. Are you implying that this measure makes them more expensive than Robinhood? If so, I think the results speak for themselves since 2013. Daniel I second this. Schwab has 24 hour customer service. The agents are courteous and helpful. Vanguard is good if you are a passive investor and investing in mostly funds.
@@bakedziti5075 Meaning they're replacing SSE with ToS? Or just giving users the option to use their preferred platform? I hope the second option because I love SSE
@Daniel Hollenbach I don't think Schwab has a outdated app. I'm a Schwab client myself and they have a pretty fluid app. Vanguard wasn't all that better.
They locked me out of my account for 41 days. Around 20k. I emailed them thousands of times. No phone as everyone knows, its mental. Calling SEC, FINRA, SEC showed love and tried to help. After 41 days, I now have control of my account. I am now switching brokerages. Also looking at getting an attorney or uniting the victims for a class action suit. I should be getting paid at least AVERAGE ANNUAL RETURN from Robinhood, but no reply. I am done with them -Contractor from Texas
Facts! But traders don't really know the best platforms to use. I had to dig deep and make adequate research before I discovered the present one I'm using. A very reliable group of traders own it.
I think its people using the same email with other sites and or installing too many or the wrong apps. Of course always use different passwords for each site or app and put it down in a note somewhere only you can understand... I love the robinhood and love how simple it is to read and "see" its not an eye sore for me like others (webull) but the poor customer service and slow response times will probably get me to stick with fidelity only here on out.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
The writting is on the wall to leave. He needs to change to either Fidelity or M1 Finance. Too much money in Robinhood to trust with an unreliable broker.
@@ThinkMoneyBenny I agree to some extent. M1 is the best of the new platforms out there, but they still slack off with customer service. Also Andrei has his IRA with them, so it would be an easy transition for a taxable account. Fidelity is the far better choice minus mobile app visual appeal.

Their cash management is a joke. Remember when they offered it and said it would return 3% but it wasn’t even fdic insured.
Use AUTHY not Google Authenticator. Otherwise when you switch phones you're screwed.
nope, theres always a backup code for any 2fa websites in case you delete the app or lose your phone
Are you alright? Your voice sounds off
Got sick, not COVID thankfully
Switched to Charles Schwab and never looked back
Same here! Fidelity 💰😍
Same here. Schwab is one of the best and even better they're merging with TD
Note that this is a general hack. It can happen to any platform.
@@jamers.99 yes it can. However the difference is between the support of an app only based platform and a fully functional platform which has phone email chat support plus physical branch locations

Thanks Andrei! This happened to me on Friday October 9th. Woke up to my portfolio sold and transferred.
I'm guilty.
Fidelity does not charge.. and you can buy fractional shares with their app
Just did everything you said and set it up to "immediately", but when I open the app it just asks me for the pin. When does it ask for the 2-factor code?
Maybe because your device was already added as a “trusted device” try to login with a different device and see if it is working
Last time i was so early, times were good, really good! No Covid-19, no economic crisis, no stolen funds... *But life happened*
Life uhh...finds a way
Wait Andre does options?
As a former stock broker the two things we always recommend were 1) Two step authentication, and 2) Voice Verification (for when you called in). Problem solved. Hackers buy tens of thousands of emails on the black market. Loop through passwords on popular sites that usually set email as user name. If they get in, then you face these problems. Also, change your passwords every 90 days.
You are former stock broker? What happened?
@@michaelcedeno5722 Took my knowledge and made a successful portfolio :D. Now I design Machine Learning Algorithms. Bigger and better things ;)

It is SEC insured, but sort of close enough.
I love Charles Schwab!
Same here. Tried different platforms but once I moved to Schwab I never looked back
the app ?
@@YSDev the platform in general
True! It happened to me the automatic sell of shares but that only happens when you have Robinhood gold and not enough funds. Robinhood would sell your stocks to cover the $5 fee per month you pay
thanks for sharing!
I mean, all the while they were routing your orders to HFTs. So you've been disadvantage from the start.
Robinhood is a joke! No needed to use their platform when we have so many secured options(fidelity, TD Ame etc)
No matter the stock market crash one needs to have different portfolio, I already invested in Forex and Crypto which are really profitable
Yeah sure Forex and Crypto yields more profits with the favourable market rise
I've been an investor and I can tell it changed my life for better 😊😊 Investing in Forex and crypto will be one of the widest thing to do
I had intrest in investing in Forex and crypto but I was discouraged by friends and family, I was being ignorant though
Exactly ! That's definitely ignorance , they are good Markets to invest in and earn profits of your investment
I have been trader for over 7 month's with no good returns ,rather loss and blown accounts , really heart breaking 😢😢
How exactly do they “go inside your email” without your email password?
This guy is paid by robinhood for this damage control video.
Agreed. Everytime something bad has happened to RH this dude comes out with some vid to steer through the carnage.
I wish! I’d have to legally disclose that

Never used robinhood. I'm with Interactive Broker they have 2FA since years
I already pulled all of my money out of Robinhood.
Same I'm done
@@MannyBrum Schwab has a card that's similar to Fidelity, giving you 1.5% back into your brokerage account or retirement.
well any company can get hacked especially if you get phished
Robinhood's master plan was to rob it's users while they slept and give it to their board and executives. Sounds kinda familiar to that movie Robi... oh wait... 😳
ha! Thankfully it wasn't Robinhood's fault but it's still unfortunate

My 2 cents: An authenticator app is best, but SMS for 2FA is better than not enabling it at all. A password manager is the best option, but choosing unique random passwords and writing them down is better than reusing the same easy-to-remember password everywhere.
"and you wanna tell them exactly this."

Why doesn't Robinhood have a lockout for that situation. That will freeze everything until identity can be proven.
They sorta do.. I’ve had to prove my own identity and it my account
I took out $10K of my stocks today and I will be taking more out because I definitely can’t afford to be losing my money
How much of your portfolio is that $10k and where did you move it?
I agree, that’s why I’m transferring all of my assets to Vanguard. Good bye Robinhood !
we wear the mask I had a total of $36K and today I sold $10K of my stocks of course I have to wait til Robinhood transfer it to my bank but it will go into Fidelity than I’m taking a lost on a few high risk investments that I know will turn around soon once I sell those I will pull down appro. $13K and that will go in Acorn and maybe Fidelity the rest which will be AAPL TSLA and JNJ I bought low and can’t see myself buying them now at these prices
I feel like you've done an equipment list but....which microphone do u use? Sounds sooooo crisp
That's why I stay with reputable brokers. Non of this Robinhood or WeBull crap
Make sure you have another reliable investing app in case something happens
Webull is great for charts, but nothing else when compared to Fidelity, Charles Schwab, or TD Ameritrade.
kokalti if your emails is compromised you can be hacked on other brokers too, or any kind of online service for that matter.
Which was the password manager u were talking about?
Thanks for these videos 💓 it really helps 💓 well I will also say this here as much as I have been successful in stock so far, I also advice we get involved with bitcoin trading mostly now that the market is very bullish and profitable if you trade with a working strategy/daily signals.
Bitcoin market is basically volatility
when the market goes bearish investors/traders looses there investment which is very painful
you can take advantage of the market involving yourself in day trading or copying trade alert from a professional trader that understand the market and use strategy to generate signals daily to make profit to grow your portfolio as I have been doing with Mr Marcos Romero
the past 5 weeks and I have been able to day trade to grow my initial 0.8btc to 6.8btc which you would rethink and see that trading is better/profitable Mr Marcos Romero daily signals is very accurate and always yeilds a positive return on investment
@@robertwilkinson9564 Absolutely!! Don't just be a moon boy, go short and secure the bag !
there is no customer service in Robinhood, don't be silly! nobody will ever answer that email, they give a shit.
Good thing I'm tech savvy, and know how to protect my accounts. It'll take millions of years for them to steal my shit. Also, this is user error. Not RH's fault. Granted, they should be informing their customers about this type of shit. Charles Schwab does.
True especially since alot of beginners join Robinhood

How to not get hacked: Step 1: enroll with Vanguard, Schwab, Fidelity to name a few. Step 2: put Robinhood app in toilet,
No brokerage is safe from cyber attack.
Remember big institutional brokers pay heavy Dough for that cyber security or else it ruins their reputation.
Sure, I would absolutely expect all brokerages to invest heavily in effective cyber security measures to ensure accounts are not looted. Are you implying that this measure makes them more expensive than Robinhood? If so, I think the results speak for themselves since 2013. I think I remember Fidelity or Schwab was compromised in 2014, but well documented no user accounts were affected, much less liquidated.

@@AndreiJikh could you do a video on M1? I've heard a lot about them but there's nothing like hearing from a person who uses their services. I would love to hear your opinion on them!
My cell phone carrier doesn't have a physical location, so I can't tell them that I have to pick up a sim myself.
I highly recommend Charles Schwab. They have very good customer service. Their app is slightly outdated. Their desktop interface is much better. And yes I know they only support fractional shares of S&P 500 stocks. But you can talk to a human being.
Daniel I second this. Schwab has 24 hour customer service. The agents are courteous and helpful. Vanguard is good if you are a passive investor and investing in mostly funds.
I third this. Don’t forget to mention the price improvement (: but yes I agree their custom service is among the best I’ve ever seen
Now that Schwab owns TD they will implement ToS over their SSE and mobile app in due time.

@@ThinkMoneyBenny I agree to some extent. M1 is the best of the new platforms out there, but they still slack off with customer service. Also Andrei has his IRA with them, so it would be an easy transition for a taxable account.
