Fun to see! I predict these EVs, if not all of them, will eventually imitate Tesla's "Dog Mode." It is a great feature, but I've found that I need to hang signs in the windows when I use it, for passersby rarely bother to look at the touchscreen and immediately panic that there's a dog trapped in a car and will die of heatstroke.
We looked at an EV when we were looking last year and NONE really allowed the fitting of our double 4pets dog crate for our three cockers. The MG5 was considered BUT there was an issue with the lip on the rear floor and the crate doors. Our budget was limited to £30k ish so we opted for a Subaru Outback at sub £30k exdemo and the crate fits fine as it did in our previous Astra Sports Tourer. Manufacturers have a lot of catching up to to and more effort is need to make EV's more price competitive.
Hi guys, owner/parent to 3 dogs so very interested in this excellent video. Currently running an MG ZS EV which is a great car but quite fancy an MG5. They've only just been launched over here in France so I'm waiting to try one. At about 9:17 there appears to be smoke coming from the underneath of the Skoda??!!
When will a car channel cover the issues for the disabled that need to carry wheels onboard, such as wheelchairs or mobility scooters? I need to fit a boot hoist which needs the space of an old VW golf estate. Currently looking at mini hybrids as no electric vehicle has the space I need, and do consider why so few suitable cars are available on the motobility scheme. No issue with dogs but do cover disability issues.
The MX30? Seriously? The range is a nonstarter. I have a 98 lbs (44.5 kg) bluetick coonhound that goes most places with me. He LOVES going for rides and sticks his head out the window anytime it's 40-90F (4.4-32.2C), but he HATES stops and the poor range and slow charging would result in a LOT of howling.
Great video but...I'd have liked to have seen you take the manufacturers more to task for the ridiculously high boot lips they all have. Even that MG5 is 74 cm which was too high for your dog which you had to help up. Imagine them jumping down from that onto hard concrete too? Vets are reporting increases in the number of strains and broken legs of dogs and it's in large part down to the irresponsible and uncaring car designs. A third of Brits have dogs after all.
Sadly, this review contained “three of our favourite” cars for dogs, leaving out the only manufacturer who dedicates software to dogs,Tesla. Please explain how any of these three “favourites” will prevent passers by or authorities from breaking a window to release a dog from a “hot car”. I believe that precious little thought was put into this video.
You didn't watch the video did you? The model 3 was the first car that featured. A sedan is never going to be as practical as an estate for carrying dogs though
Whoever leaves there dog in that Tesla is a fool I wouldn’t trust it for a second, My 2021 Soul e has been broken down for 8 days Kia say there is nothing wrong with it the 12 volt battery will not keep any charge, I picked the car up the next morning completely flat so had to be recovered back to Kia I insisted they fit a new battery and hey presto everything is fine it has the tiniest battery smaller than a 1.2 Corsa Imagine leaving your dog in a Tesla and the 12 volt battery goes flat while you are not there? You won’t get any notifications either I now keep a spare battery and jump starter in my soul wherever I go,
I have a crash tested dog cage for this very reason so I can still put him in the boot , which means my dog is safe, if he is filthy it's the crate and removable bed that gets dirty and I can still use part of the boot!
Dog- and camp-mode are the main reasons for my interest in the Tesla Y

I’ve just got a petrol Berlingo XL for my Great Dane fabulous space, I would have loved an ‘e’ but the real range just isn’t good enough 🙁
Ordered my Model Y, for my Dog ... Weimaraner, plenty off space !
Unexpected video but really important topic! Thank you for sharing! 🔌⚡🚘🐕
Genuinely informative whilst adding some silly fun
11:13 Emergency braking... yes, when you see a deer running across...

This was such a great video!

Great video guys 👌

NG5 👍
I would love to get my dog an electric car but he doesn't yet have his driving license!
My Nissan Leaf works great with my greyhound the boot is deceptively spacious
Really! Im baffled. I have a German shepherd, hasnt thought a leaf was an option!
@@RupaCreations yeah the leaf has deceptively large boot. can be good second hand but wouldn't recommend a new leaf as its a bit dated for the price
You said the MG is the only small estate car… errr, are there any other station wagons available, Large or small?
At last a dog video.
I wouldn't have a MX30 though, as thay are slow, have poor range, small boot, and they are too expensive for what they are.
In this episode the crew go Dogging, and mention a Skoda accessory that can just be wiped down after you've finished.
Please do an update for 2024
What about a big dog? We have a husky
tbh, I'd say the Enyaq is good for larger dogs as well.
If not, the Citroen e-Berlingo is a decent bet, if you don't mind the real-world range
I’m trying to find one to fit a child, dog and buggy. It’s a nightmare

Plus the rear windows do not open!
You should show real cages that you're actually supposed to use. They take more room and the blanket in the backseat is only for short distances.

MX30, are you kidding??????

Haha!. Perhaps watch the video before commenting next time eh?

What do you mean it’s illegal to let your dog’s head out the window? How will he get his Pawpachiono at Starbucks?
Dog's 😆
This channel is becoming more and more of a blatant advertisement.
Disgusting. Where's the cat representation?! I demand a cat video.
You shouldn’t carry dogs in the boot of cars. They are the cars crumple zones, so in the event of an accident, dogs will get squashed 😳
Your right there, our Lurcher always travels on the back seat with a dog guard between us.
Exactly right
I have a crash tested dog cage for this very reason so I can still put him in the boot , which means my dog is safe, if he is filthy it's the crate and removable bed that gets dirty and I can still use part of the boot!
Dogs are just dogs ,leave them at home guarding the house . Usually love all your content, thanks .😁
Sorry but this is utter nonsense.
So we waste time talking about dogs….FFS
A third of Brits have a dog.
