Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.
ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.

You could probs just do this in post by putting a blurred filter on the video and unblurring while a lens is over the camera. Defo not necessary though. The videos are amazing as they are :)

I have never needed glasses, but eye tests are the single most relaxing type of ASMR to me. Your voice is also calming. Overall 10/10

As a kid I used to go to an optician who used one of these exact sets. She had a very quiet, delicate, methodical, accurate and had a specific, very rhythmic technique. The way she said "is it better like this... or like this... like this... or like this..." gave me crazy tingles. Needless to say my appointments always took ages!
Still get significant ASMR triggering from optician checkups. Always find it a hugely relaxing experience, and this video is something else!

I always used to get tingles at my eye examinations when I was a kid. This was a healthy dose of nostalgia, as the opticians I go to now use machines instead of manually inserting the lenses. Really well done video.
It’s a bit of a shame imo. I always work this ‘manual’ way with the trial frames.

Same here! Before i discovered this was known as ASMR, I loved going to see the optometrist, and i never found out why until couple of years ago lol. Wonder if it is because the exam room is dark, and doc speaks gently and the sounds of the instruments clicking etc. Lol
One time I got really tired and nearly fell asleep-
I have an enormous playlist of your videos and this one is at the very top and every time I hit play all it plays first, but no matter how many times I've listened to it as I fall asleep, I can never make myself skip it. Truly one of my favorites.

I had my very overdue optometrist appointment today - felt so nice to experience ASMR in person again after watching so many UA-cam role plays. Today’s ASMR was intensified by how thorough she was! Not just testing sight, but checked my eye pressure, checked for retinal scarring, asked very good questions - really felt like I was in good hands!
What was even better, my sight hasn’t deteriorated at all since my last visit. First time in 16 years that has happened 🙌🏽

This is SO nostalgic for me. I used to love going to the opticians when I was a kid and the place was set out just like this.
It's a pretty big source of anxiety for me now cause we moved across the country and I haven't found an optician I like here yet, but it was so comforting to get this flashback straight back to when I was a kid.

That direct light in the eye can knock me out almost instantly for some reason, which makes driving at night sometimes difficult. Oncoming traffic triggers are a scary thing, but I love an asmr flashlight lol. Your voice and demeanor are so soothing too. "With...without.." beautiful

watching this i found out my left eye is blurry and i went to an eye doctor and now i have stigmatism in my left eye and glasses so thank you very much (edit: I watched this video 2 weeks ago)
