Great comparison of the different cameras. I am green with envy on some of your gear. I have been geeking out watching some of your clips. Those rigs make my Insta 360x4 looks like legos. I also use gopro and really dislike the new ones. I have lost so much footage due to them not working right. Keep the videos coming.

Medium contrast/rolloff makes a lot of sense with the footage I tested. I was wondering why highlight rolloff on my Z9 footage didn't look as good as using straight up Resolve CST to rec709. Wish they had a low contrast soft/very soft rolloff option. Regardless, this is pretty exciting progress. And leaps ahead of Nikon's LUT. Phil did a great job here.

Very cool Scott! I’ve been running Z9 Nraw footage through the RED IPP2 pipeline for a little while in Resolve via color management, but it’s cool to see a corrected technical LUT for viewing! Here’s hoping we get proper sensor false color down the line in the vein of what the Sigma fp has :) (Miss that little camera!)

One question: if after the red conversion lut (creative or technical) I want to apply the davinci built in film look LUT like the 2383, from which gamut I have to convert to cineon? The color space remains rec709 but which input gamma I have to set to get output gamma cineon to apply the film look lut? Thank you!
Correct. You convert from rec709 to cineon after the RED technical LUT. If you look at my node tree, you’ll see a nested set of nodes right after the RED LUTS. That’s my Kodak film LUT that I like to add a partial amount of with a key. It was disabled on this video.

Usually I set input color space DAVINCI WIDE GAMUT input gamma DAVINCI INTERMEDIATE output color space REC709 and output gamma CINEON. What I have to put in the input color space and in the input gamma? I only know that the lut gives you rec709 color space but I don’t know the gamma

things are really heating up in the video camera market recently! I have no skin in Nikon or Red (with Canon) but the future is looking good for all of us.
can you do a similar video with the same format explaining the difference between n raw high quality vs n raw normal please. I'm running into storage issues and I'm not on the level to be able to support storing high quality n raw but I want to work toward that look.

Why would you want to bake a lut into your footage losing lots of flexibility? I can do it with my gh7 but i do it in edit.
@@andersistbesser no not bake it in. Just replace the current lut the camera uses when you turn on view assist. It’s not good

Both reds look noticably better even with yt compression but the z is good as well
