With the recent boom surrounding Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio, we headed down to South-West London for a chat with one of the pioneers of the technique - sound artist (and RME user) Marco Perry.
Working from within his “Sonic Shed” - an old industrial structure hidden behind a grade II listed building in Wandsworth, South-West London - Marco Perry creates experiences for audiences that blend visuals with spatial audio installations. Marco’s passion for immersive audio also attracted the attention of experimental singer Bjork, for whom he designed an immersive audio experience for her exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
We sat down with Marco in his Sonic Shed to discuss how he got started with immersive audio, his massive collection of RME gear and why he relies on the RME M-32 range for conversion.

Very interesting. The future of audio.
Wonderful interview. Thank you :-)
Great video. Why do RME still use USB2? Even cheap options are giving Thunderbolt etc. No Mac is using USB2 now and using adapters is not ideal.
Good question, and something that RME addressed a little while back in a video of their own: ua-cam.com/video/dSIf4QGYs-c/v-deo.html
Hope this helps!
This is great!
