I saw the recipe yesterday ...if I remember...it was white & black pepper, celery salt, thyme, marjoram, oregano, garlic salt, ginger, that's all I can recall! lol! It's really not a secret anymore..

The chicken rub called 99X is the real recipe. here's the story. Sanders sold his company and remained the spokesman for the brand. The agreement when he sold was the original recipe would always be sold and never changed. That promise was broken while Sanders was still alive and still employed as the spokesman. sanders once he tasted the changed recipe was so angry he hired a company in Indiana to mix his original ingredients and Sanders himself sold it to the KFC stores. The new owners couldn't stop him from doing that because he had the binding agreement. Once Sanders died, the owners sued and won and the ruling was that the company in Indiana could NOT sell the mixture they made for Sanders in any of their restaurants. The Indiana company now sells it under the brand 99X. Its sells on Amazon with instructions.

Hey sis, many, many years ago, I did a copycat version of kfc. The spice blend was a little different and I thought that was a lot of pepper, but it worked. I can’t wait to see your chicken because I know it’s going to be good.

My two favorite things - - "why did they write 1/3 tablespoon? that's a teaspoon" LOL I said it out loud just before you did! Also....white pepper is expensive! I agree with your decision

I agree. I think KFC changed their recipe. I don't remember their chicken being so salty. It's like eating frozen, processed foods. How come I didn't notice this before? My taste buds are getting tired, not more activated. LOL.

Anytime I use my air fryer my husband ask if it’s mzbrazell . Lol
You need to add some Accent to it, that will give it the taste you are looking for.
