Over almost 150 years, the word ‘Pentridge’ became eponymous with prison. Following the closure of the Melbourne Gaol in the 1920s, Pentridge became the main remand and reception prison for the Melbourne metropolitan area. Pentridge has housed some of Australia’s most infamous criminals and forms an emotional and dark place in many hearts and minds.

Good 👍 video
@@danrobinson572 thank you 🙂
Of all the beautiful architecture that Melbourne has lost it, is a travesty that this place of unimaginable horror has been turned into a Disneyland of incarceration. How anybody could visit this penitentiary and not feel the desperation and agony of the thousands who may have spent their lives here in abject misery is beyond belief. The whole site should have been razed and a garden ,dedicated to lives destroyed in the name of the law, planted in its place. Do not go there if you have the least empathy for lives made more miserable by their passing through those gates.
I completely agree with you 😢
