The biggest issue is that the motor is visible in some positions! It would have been great to see how much of the motor is visible with the new wider angle camera on the new iphone. I am waiting to see that test footage before I order it.
@@Clayphish Yes a firmware fix may change the angle (more foward) but you have to hold it in a different way putting more strain on your wrist. This might be a deal breaker for me.

The main problem with gimbal reviews is that they are usually about the usage of an iPhone. Now once iPhone 11 is out which has wide angle camera all reviews should include info about the fact that on gimbals with a classic structure (like this one) motor will be visible in a frame. I was initially a backer of this gimbal but cancelled my order since there is no real way to not see motor in a frame.
Please Help - I bought Zhiyun Smooth Q2 recently and installed the app on iphone 11. while using the ZY Play app to shoot / record the videos get stored in the app. once i import the content and try to edit in Premier Pro CC i dont get the video only audio is picked up, please advise what is the problem or is there any option which lets the recorded footage directly into the iphone memory. It’s no secret their apps are not that good, I’m sorry I didn’t mention it here... well when I review this it was so new it didn’t work with their app. When I reviewed the M2 I tried so hard to make their app works for me but failed! Can you get the video files play in your computer with other software, for example the great VLC player? There’s a chance your Premiere just doesn’t support their codec. If VLC can playback your video, you just have to find a way to convert it to a format that Premiere can edit. Hope you can sort it out!

Hey Lok, have you heard about the Feiyu Vlog pocket? It's even smaller than this. I actually purchased the Q2 couple days ago, it's quite hard to control when I use the ultra wide angle lens on my phone cause I would need to push my phone further on the lens side otherwise the axis of the gimbal will show in the view, I think itis a design problem of this product.

I love the Zhiyun Smooth Q2 but it would have been better if it had a normal portrait mode(so it can be put on a tripod), a stronger application like the DJI MIMO, better object tracking, it should have a tucked in roll motor (so it can be put on a tripod), a mini tripod and a carry case, a zoom rocker (which would work on the native camera application and other applications like FILMIC pro), it should have collaborated with FILMIC pro like the DJI OSMO gimbals and counterweights. This is constructive criticism for the betterment of the product and company. Thank you.

they need to fix the balancing issue and make it suitable to work with the iPhone 11 pro max..alot of other gimbals make it so that the phone is aitomatically balanced in the middle and it stays balanced, i like the smooth 2 and i wanted it to start vlogging but it does not work with my iphone 11 max pro
If you leave the detachable phone clamp on your phone, no you don’t have to; but for phone gimbals you only need to, or only be able to balance one axis anyway, which is the position of the phone on the clamp
@@ed.t.hansen6499 My iPhone X doesn't have headphone/mic port! The mic use the Lightning charging port. For Bluetooth you can use AirPods as mic for iPhones though
Getting prototype product simply doesn't have anything to do with is there money exchange. On my Cantonese channel there is a guy thinking the same as you too, I never know people think this way! I mean they are kind enough to let me play with a prototype, should I pay them in stead??

The USB-C port does not charge because the Power Delivery speeds are incompatible. USB-A to USB-C is standard phone charging not using the Power Delivery spec. You can't expect any device to charge off any USB-C charger that it did not come with
I do expect any USB-C device should charge off any USB-C charger, and it's consumer's expectation. It's the manufacturers' job, or the whatever USB standard organisation to figure it out. We used to have different plug for different things: printer port, joystick port, the port for mouse (can't remember the name for it lol), but if it fit it works; now they are telling us USB-C fits USB-C, but it don't always work? To me that's crazy. Even for so many different USB 3.1 Gen 1 or 2 to Thunderbolt, if you use a wrong cable you get slower speed, but it will still work. It is the same for USB-A, if something prevent it from quick charge, it charge slower, but still charge.

There is a major flaw in the design of this gimbal. And latest firmware does not resolved it. When you balance the gimbal and make it stand on the Tripod the level of phone is not straight it leaning on one side. I will be posting a video on this soon
The active tracking is very bad the zoom roller acting strange and the main issue it was frequently disconnects from the phone and it was large size difficult to carry
Well a lot of Q2 reviews were done BEFORE the iPhone 11, while I just don't want to spend that money just so I can review it. Chung Dha reviewed the Q2 with his wide angle lens phone, he did show if you point the gimbal forward (torch mode) it's fine with his phone ua-cam.com/video/5gcMGuvwa1Q/v-deo.html
I agree, ZhiYun makes a lot of smart stuff. The only problem for them is, I am happy with the older stuff I bought from them, I have no reason to buy anything new.

Have you installed the newest firmware update? I was thinking about buying one of these, and apparently if you click the switch mode button 3 times it fixes the problem. I'll buy your q2 if you don't want it still though lol (fully serious)

Davinder Rajput they have included a ultra wide angle mode for POV and follow modes.
Also worth mentioning that the new iPhones are heavier than last years models. The osmo 3 currently isn’t able to properly hold it.

Pair the Q2 with the iPhone Pro front camera which is now 4K 60p, and you have the perfect vlogging setup!
Who needs to vlog in 60p? Planning on 1/2 playback? Lol... Even 4k is excessive for vlogging

How can I shoot low along the ground. The Smooth 4 was easy but Q2 I can’t seem to do it.

Plus motor is visible in some shots, so you really need to adjust the shooting angle

Do you have to rebalance it every time you use it?
