    14:00 you could have walked to Miami(1), treated disease(2),used the Miami card to fly to Sao paulo(3),treated disease(4) although this uses a card.
    When playing pandemic, I place the 3rd cube on top, to indicate that the cards for those 3-stacks are on the top of the deck, regions which become 3-stacks when the card is played from the infection deck do not go on top. This helps to keep track of the more important issues

    If a city with a color of an eradicated disease comes up during the infection phase, it is not removed from play, it is just ignored.

    47:26 missed play. You can't do that removing all three blue cubes by medic special ability and put one of three to the sample dish.
    "A cube removed from the board by Events, the
    Containment Specialist’s ability, the Medic’s ability to
    automatically remove cured disease cubes, etc. may
    not be placed in a sample dish"
    so if you want to do that, you must play three actions, 2 actions threat 2 cubes back into the supply box, and one action threat goes into sample dish
    CMIIW

    • @PauloRenato23
      @PauloRenato23 3 роки тому +1

      Sorry but you are wrong, that part you quote is referring to CURED diseases and Blue wasn't cured, so the cubes didn't disappeared thanks to the Medic ability of automatically clearing cured diseases when he enters a city with them, he spent an action to treat the disease so he can place one of the cubes in the Lab.
      I think that part in the rules is meant to say that when cubes are removed from the board for "free" (meaning it isn't costing you an action to do it) you can't place them in the Lab, and that wasn't the case here.
      You can check it here:
      www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1524549/lab-cured-diseases
      EDIT:
      Also, regarding this last part of your comment;
      "so if you want to do that, you must play three actions, 2 actions threat 2 cubes back into the supply box, and one action threat goes into sample dish"
      That is also wrong, you can't choose to turn on and off the abilities of the characters, so when the Medic does the "Treat" action he can't choose to only remove 1 cube, he HAS to remove ALL cubes of the color he is treating at the time, so he would spend 1 action removing all 3 cubes and placing 1 of them in the Lab just like Richard did.
      If the disease was cured (that is the thing that the quote you gave pertains to) the Medic couldn't even treat the disease because the cubes would be automatically removed from the board when he entered the city, so he couldn't do what you said he could do by spending 3 actions.
      And even then, what you described, playing 3 actions, 2 to treat 2 cubes and 1 to the lab is incorrect because, has I explained if you are the medic you can't turn off the normal abilities you have, and if you aren't the medic, you use 1 action treat a disease, so you remove 1 cube from the board, you can then place that cube in the lab... so if you do 3 Treat actions like you were describing you could place the 3 cubes you removed in the Lab, basically you can place 1 cube per Treat action in the Lab... The medic with 1 treat action removes all cubes from the city and can only place one of them in the lab...
      So the Medic is good to clear the board of cubes, he's not that good to send cubes to the lab!

    Towards the end, when you drew Kolcatta, you put the cube on Baghdad, this created an outbreak when you drew Baghdad a few turns later. Also, the rules say that you discard the city that you draw from the infection deck if the color is eradicated FYI

    One of the very last things you did was cure yellow disease. Then, you used your Medic to walk over to the other yellow cities and "remove" all the cubes from those cities.
    When you used the medic to '"remove" cubes like this, it is NOT considered treating a diseases. If you read the Medic role card carefully, it says "remove", and NOT treat all diseases in those cities. So, you can't take a cube and put them in the lab. The ability acts exactly the same way as the Containment Specialist ability, and he not allowed to do that either.
    This is explained by the creator in this form:
    boardgamegeek.com/thread/1094052/roles-cures-and-the-lab-challenge

    I have a question with the Sequence cards. Example: If it has 3 red, 1 yellow, and 2 grey, and you characterized it as red, would you put 5 red and 1 yellow instead of 3 & 3?

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  2 роки тому

      that's exactly right! if you had characterized it with a yellow card, then the two greys "become yellow" and you'd have to do 3 and 3 :)

  • @PauloRenato23
    @PauloRenato23 10 років тому

    At 12:20, is there a reason why you put the Red cube in the dish with the Blue one? Couldn't you put it with the yellow ones and later move them as they are needed for the same cure? I ask because this way you will need 2 actions to move the yellow cubes and the red cubes and if they were in the same dish you'd only need 1 action to move them...
    Is this right? I'm just thinking because I haven't played In the Lab and haven't read the rules and because you didn't mention why you put the red in the dish with the blue I was wondering if you were forced to do it

    36:30 Jane test the cure after all cubes needed are in the sequence card for red disease. You don't need to wait till all cubes are in the card, do you? according to the rulebook once you have 1 cube in the card you can test the cure, isn´t? (page 5 top). But for me wait till all cubes are placed makes more sense thematically. How you guys play this?

    • @PauloRenato23

    At 15:35 You store another yellow cube in the dish, I have to ask why, you already have the yellow cubes you need to cure both diseases you have in the lab so why put more cubes there? aren't they going to waste when you advance them and have no where to put them?
    Again this is me just trying to understand some moves because I haven't played the game and don't know the rules... so what you're doing may be awesome moves but at this point I'm not getting it :p

      yes... he could've used it there but that would mean he would get rid of at most 3 red cubes, the ones in Manila and Hong Kong because, like you said it would have to be in connected cities, so he would be wasting getting 2 mor cubes of the board because that event can remove up to 5 cubes
