Hard Corps ran on the rule of cool and just threw every crazy idea at the wall. Fang is every single 90s badass idea rolled into a single character. Every boss is some kind of Genesis technical wizardry, or just a badass intro like Yokozuna Jr (that's his name) outrunning and stopping a train with its bare hands, and then dies by falling in front of the train and exploding in slow mo- AAAGH the SNES/Genesis era was peak Konami. There's a rumor the dev team left Konami to form Treasure. There are so many mechanical similarities between Hard Corps and Gunstar Heroes I believe it.
The Genesis was doing a great job later on at emulating the sprite rotation effect the SNES was able to do. Hard Corps and Bloodlines being the best examples of this.
I didn't know about this game until like 2015, even though I was around when I came out. It's so, so good; it's a damn shame they never really made another one like it. Not even Contra 3 is quite as good as Contra Hard Corps.
I look back and regret that I skipped Hard Corps just because it was on the Genesis. I had both a Genesis and the SNES as a kid, but was such a Nintendo fanboy that I didn't think Hard Corps would be better than Contra 3 until I played the Contra Anniversary Collection. I was so happy to be wrong. Same goes for Castlevania Bloodlines.
@@cybermx8896 No I didn't like that one. The art style was cool, and I really wanted to like it, but the game often felt a bit slow, and the level up/progression system wasn't necessary. What I'd really want is another game with the same overall mechanics as Hard Corps, but with more playable characters and maybe some new mechanic with weapons to spice things up. For example, what if they kept the A, B, C, D weapon system from Hard Corps, but included the weapon combining mechanic from Gunstar Heroes. So you could use just A, B, C, or D, or you could do A+B, B+C, C+D, and D+A. That's just one idea; there'd be multiple ways to add some mechanics to the original gameplay without straying too far from the formula. Uprising strayed too far and is frustrating to play if you're expecting gameplay more like Hard Corps or Metal Slug.
Not gonna lie, Contra music is probably the perfect complement to playing Helldivers.
Oh NOOOOOOOO. Now I need to blast it when I play it next.
The boss fights in this game are insane
Came here from Terminal Montage and I'm glad he showed me your awesome work!
He really knows what sick beat to pick out.
Yeah next fav contra theme next to contra 3 boss theme
he always put his music on those videos, TheLegendofRenegade is a good damn artist.
The only way I found out abt this masterpiece was from Terminal Montage's video on Helldivers 2, and I got to say, this is literally a bop.

@treeghettox Damn, Konami was on fire during the SNES/Genesis days!
We share those you know?…
If he dies he dies.

Did I just watch a robot outstrip a train? With sneakers??
This robot is so damn cool, they brought its (son) back for Contra Shattered Soldier.
Japanesses have a great imagination... or drugs
I fucking love this game so damn hard tho

And Hard Corps Uprising? Not like it?

This games tracks are so intense I rarely find remixes that dont suck.
FREEDOM NEVER SLEEPS!
Lmao damn it someone beat me to it!!!!
SPREAD THE DEMOCRACY
We have a code terminal montage, I repeat, code terminal montage, dozens of tm fans will be breaching the comments.
To all the helldiver here, yall gotta look at the metal cover of this, it gose so hard
The one i listen to is by Michael Sobin
5:22 Shout outs to the European Probotector cover. Browny is unchanged and robo Fang still looks badass.
This remix is the only way the SNES could (indirectly) handle such a hardcore game like Contra Hardcorps 👀
I'm here because these badass beats are now a tool for spreading democracy across the galaxy
1:17 Get Stickbugged lol
This is the final battle!
The Colonel is already dead! Stop this foolishness!
I could care less about the Colonel! I'm going all the way!
1:50 That boss who’s running on his hands kills me 🤣🤣🤣
It’s the contra super corps
Also it’s better than the original version
HOW DID I MISS A RENEGADE REMIX OF ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GENESIS OSTS
WHAT
This game is completely insane
A F***ing Air Moonwalinkg Robot... Awesome
This song is balls to the wall insane
That breakdown section man! So good!
You nailed perfectly the melody! It's so good!
Thank you for making this banger
Injury? *WHAT INJURY!?*
Also, I like that you used footages from aaronmunroe cus I'm the P2 in the clips
That's sick, I love playthroughs that are co-op it's more interesting lol
Stick bug terminid time boys.
The graphics on this game held up really well!
I love the SNES sounds its S O E P I C
This goes hard!

A reventarle la cara a los jefes de contra hard corps y con este impresionante soundtrack 🎶🎶🤘🎶🤘🎶🎸💪🎸💪🎸🎶🤘🎸👊👊🎶🎶🎶🤘🎶🎸🎶🎸🤘🎶🎶🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎸💪🎸💪🎸💪🤘🎶🤘🎶🎸🎸👊🎶🤘🎶🎸🎸🎶🤘💪🎸🎶🤘🎶🤘🎶🤘
Damn, that has to be one strong train if it's capable of taking a hit from a giant robot, and one that looks like Groucho no less.
I love this.
I hope that No one say that no one dislike this
It’s payback time!
Infelizmente nem tem como comparar com a original. A trilha sonora de Contra: Hard Corps está toda encaixada no chip do Sega Mega Drive.
"rats we took one " 🚁
Only three 1-hit lives.. why?
Great snes remix btw!
The original Japanese release had a three-hit health bar to go with the set of lives. The western releases were made more difficult.
if he dies, H E D I E S
Contra The Hard Corps in SNES
Hey, you kind of copy my semi joke
Love the style.
Just not the same without that Genesis twang....
Vert Sweet❤
what a nice music?! good!
Blue Shell to anyone who says 1st.
You just played yourself
"Not 1st" 😅
It was made to be a Land Mine for people to step on.
@@TheLegendofRenegade
In fact, I'll get someone next time.
sounds almost as good but without the harshness
3:29~4:37 Sound Breaking
suena bien si, pero no tiene la potencia e intensidad de megadrive
and because music sega more like people, then SNES version, music from snes a shit
