I was always told the rod pointing out the back of the boat was supposed to be the top rod, and the rod out of the side of the boat is the bottom rod?

Just my opinion but putting the side rod on the bottom pulls the ball kinda wonky. That being said I'm sure there's more than one way to set it up. This is just my way. 👍
