Wow, such an interesting and informative conversation. I’m a blind person. Also a Nigerian, who recently came to Canada one year ago and I understand what they said about Canada being the best place for poor people. The benefits are so overwhelming compared to what you have as a person with disability in Nigeria.. I’m in Winnipeg Manitoba and have been planning to move to Edmonton soon. I would really love to join the community and get to meet Emeka. Such an intelligent person I see him as somebody I can learn a lot from when I get to Edmonton. although I’m planning to be an entrepreneur.. For anyone curious how I’m typing this as a blind person just want you to know that blind people use smart phones in case you think I’m lying that I’m blind. L O L.

Ignorance is not an excuse for racism. We are dealing with adults, they know what they are doing. As Africans we like to give people, especially people from other cultures benefit of doubt, but trust me, they know what they are doing. For countries that are more developed and have a better education system than us, Ignorance is not an excuse.

I think you don't get it. So many Canadians are ignorant. When they display their ignorance, that doesn't mean they are racist. They just didn't know better.

22:06 just like the homelessness rate in Edmonton, Which led to declaration of state of emergency in January. Some individuals accessing housing programs often strive to remain in the program and meet the ongoing eligibility criteria.Unfortunately those in genuine need of these assistance often face barriers, such as program being closed or being placed on lengthy waitlist. Additionally some people are not ready to be employed or independent under the umbrella of “mental health” so they continue to be on AISH or Alberta works for extended periods, which some of them earn more that the employed individuals. I just think there are lots of grey areas around policies and accessibility

My colleagues including my boss can’t believe that I graduated with a 4 year Bachelor’s degree at 21 years old. My boss has told me to bring my certificate to prove that. I brought not only my certificate but also my credentials assessment certificate and I then explained to her that I started school at a very young age and went to Uni at 17 and actually delayed graduating because of Covid.

The poverty of knowledge in so called western world is so evident in the fact that a very high percentage (probably about 80 - 85%) of these westerners have not travelled outside the cities they were born in, talk less of flying in an aircraft or leaving their country at all. I have spoken with many of them oftentimes and I find they haven't lived or traveled outside their local county or city. going to another state or province in their own country is like an opportunity or luxury. This is why they display poor knowledge about what exists in other countries and this is coupled with localized kind of education which they pride themselves so much about.

To address the first person who spoke from 5:00 to 6:20 in the video, your manager asking where Wakanda is or if that's where you're from doesn't necessarily make him stupid or ignorant, so that point might not hold much weight. Even if you had said Nigeria and he asked the same question-'Where is that?'-it would simply indicate a lack of knowledge, but it still wouldn't mean he's stupid."

There are many Canadians in the U.S. just that you don’t know about them.
Did you know a Canadian owned a newspaper in Boston?
Many Canadians are also operating in the VC space etc.
Keep in mind, the U.S. has 300M + people. Canada as a whole is about the population of the State of California.
Good job on this subject not the less, please do more research.. I personally know many people across America who don’t work either and on welfare. That’s how the title “welfare Queen’ dating back to the time of Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich (Speaker)

The Canadian & American culture is different than Nigerian’s.
Average Canadian’s net worth (well being if you will) is measured and possible beyond ‘job’ they invest early in say real estates so may not be eager to ‘speed up’ and chase after opportunity at their jobs.
They most importantly do not call anywhere home- don’t have a need to send money to anyone. Even kids and families/ relatives here take of their own business and nearly never need or expect help from others.
Let’s be clear, many Canadians you find in shelters or living on the streets have relatives …
It’s important, to give context to your contributions…. The latitude Nigerians have to hide their income from the Treasury is most likely unavailable here in Canada. 😂

Which Canada has higher crime rate than the US?? When you make such claim, just states the source not to look stupid.
And which gun crime is on the rise in Canada?? Where? Ottawa? Quebec? Calgary or Vancouver??
Some people are good at fabricating stories.
