REALLY!!! Got time to work on that tractor but not Mark's! Or even give an update!! You have raised money then stole it in a dead man's name!! You are a disgusting man!! THIEF!!
Thank you Stephen , for explaining what to watch for when assembling and working on the clutch-I have an old 606 bush hog that I’m trying to fix the slip clutch on - the John Deere place couldn’t get all the parts for it- I took the metal plates to a machine shop and they resurfaced the plates as well as straightend the drive shaft for me
German style PTO shafts have an inner profile tube that is either 'Lemon Shape' or 'Star Shape'. Most Italian style PTO shafts have a special 'Triangle Shape' inner profile tube that can only be oriented in one direction.
My Land Pride slip clutch calls for a 1/8” gap between the two plates where the Bellvile washer is, so an actual torque value on the nuts wouldn’t have any purpose.
I have done this work myself several years ago and I’ve also on an older bush hog taken and welded the clutches when it was Christmas time and our dealerships here were all closed from December 12-January -12 yes an entire month without anyway of getting parts and we were in bad need of our bush hog. And we have also used Chevy 3/4 ton tierod ends for our 4020 and our 1530 John Deere tractor tie rod ends they work perfectly when you measure them and your stock ones to see where you need to cut and weld the Chevy 70s thru mid 80s tie rods in place believe me the price difference is well worth it a stock John Deere one was in 2001 $200 and the Chevy one $20-30 plus its grease able
Modern John Deere yes, older ones, not so much. Unfortunately once the last board member who had any ties to the Deere family back in the 1980s, Deere changed and no long was the tractor the farmer could work on.
I did not know you are a John Deere mechanic. I have a 4100 That I do all the work on and I'm not a tractor mechanic. But I just tear into it and figure it out. I have a JD dealer 2 miles from my house, But they have screwed me so many times I don't take my equipment to them any more. After they did some work in my front diff (4x4) instead of putting new gear oil they put used diesel motor oil in it and charged me 1200 dollars for replacing 1 bearing. and I got it back home it was making a bad metal to metal sound. I pulled it in my shop and drained the used motor oil and pulled it a part and they did not put in the bearing that they charged me 1200 dollars for.
it si really dependent on your pto supplier. Good luck on getting torque values for different tractor pto output HP. Everybody sells them but no one knows the set up values
glad to see you back again boss! ive got to work on a 1518 deere shredder that we have at the farm and had to go through the issues that you ran into also with the waltersheid drivelines..no one will tell you that eaton owns waltersheid, prolly cause they dont know, but also, they dont support them.... i did however, find these folks, drive-lines.com/home.html the guy that runs the fresno shop is really sharp...... i told him my issues and he instantly rattled off the part numbers and solutions from memory..... enjoyed it, and look forward to talking to you again soon...
You’re actually setting the gap on those. Yours should be .276”. I have the same unit. Specs and instructions are available in the operators manual. Free on the JD website.
On our LandPride, there is no torque spec for the slip clutch bolts. You’re supposed to measure the length of nut and threads protruding through that nut., I think 😂

And if you try to do it your self and fail then take it to them they charged me double. They tried to charge me 100 dollars another time for a hyd seal kit. I went on line and paid 18 dollars.

Hi is it possible you are missing springs on the bolts? Here is a general manual from Walterscheid, all different slip clutches have some type of springs in it, no torque settings mention t www.walterscheid.com/out/pictures/media/usermanual_wal.pdf In this manual www.rabe-ersatzteile.de/listen/BtrArchiv/Kreisel/Gelenkwellen/Gelenkwelle%20Walterscheid%2098.pdf according to google translate "Friction clutches are to be set according to the tractor power and the PTO shaft speed. Adjust the torque so that the clutch becomes lukewarm under normal working conditions. Avoid overheating."

When will yall finish Mark's tractor
Everything is a hammer unless its a screwdriver then its a chisel
That videographer is sooooo awesome😁
You couldn't get any information cause John deere stands against the right to repair
Which is why I won't buy John Deere, and if I'm ever large enough, right to use who ever I want to repair will be in my contracts.

Great video Mate 👍.
I'm a farm equipment mechanic and I like watching your videos 🤝
Did u smoke the clutch before u set it up for service on the mower it will settle in so it will slip when its supposed to.
Great to see another wrenching video
More tractors.
Nice work thanks for posting. Good stuff. No work gloves :/ (lol)

Wooooo a Hiron Horse I love thas machine
How many threads did you end up tightening it down to ?
My MX10 manual gives a gap measurement at each bolt for the plates.
Deere is 1/4 inch gap between clutches per service advisor

Güdentite is the same spec I use on the German made equipment I use.
In high torque applications, I add, "mit ein gross oomph!" 😁
