Dude that jacket is all about the 50's. I was alive than so everyone wore them. Check out James Dean in Rebel without a cause. Everyone dressed that way. Congrats on the find.
It was definitely a good week for the bins. Picked up a couple of pristine gabardine dresses from the 40s. The flea market people just throw that stuff around so they can grab Nikes.
Great pick ups Yumbo! Very interesting stuff. Ran that Ricky jacket by my Mom who is 85 and was in HS and college in the 1950s and she said the jacket is definitely 50s.
"Shearling" is the keyword you want to use for the Scully jacket, even if it's faux shearling. If the lining is genuine sheepskin then it's shearling. If the lining is polyester, it is faux shearling aka sherpa. I'm guessing it's real. Also, I love the bins. I'm surprised you don't go more.
Gaberdine is throwing me for a loop... Im seeing what i thought was basic, vintage tag tommy Hilfiger cotton pocket button ups that were listed with the word "gaberdine" and sold for over 40 bucks. Not sure if the sellers are being dishonest or if ive been passing up expensive shirts
I’m pretty sure it’s just a type of material. It’s similar to the lightweight wool of a blazer. The style of jacket and the age is what makes it valuable.
With all the WWII vintage war clothes you better be careful inviting spirits into your house from deceased people and entities. Have you thought about that?
Fun to see the genuine glee in finding those old WW2 cargos. Like a kid at Christmas. Congrats to the Yumbo for the Big Grail find!
It was a joyous occasion.
Thanks again for a great video. Enjoyed your vacation video at the end! Looks like it was a great trip... happy for you!
Sick pants brother. I used to wear those back in ‘nam when I was slicing thru the forest, machete in one hand, B2 Bomber in the other.

Sweet! I’m calling it 50s then.

The neck trick😅
Congrats Yumbo. I've been a bins addict recently too.
22:43 Random af but does Mac not have the feature to click the scroll wheel to open in new tab?
I use a track pad, so I can’t. I can do it by hitting command + click, but I’m too dumb to do that.
i really like SLO im going to have to visit this summer, are you on Whatnot?

gaberdine is the material. Big in the 40s and 50s
I read that it could be stiff cotton as well, which is why it seems like it would be easy to pass up
Polyester gabardine fabric was big in the 70s.

Pretty spooky. I hadn’t thought about that.
come on try them on in the video and lets see if they fit...
