Jameka, I'm putting together a private CD collection of the Southern Faith Singers' recordings and would love to reach out to any living members of the group, or family members. Perhaps you can help me?
Thank you Jesus! I’ve been looking for this song. It’s been on my mind. Brought back memories of Sunday morning with my grandpa…getting ready for church. We blasted it on the radio!!!! This song & the Bible is right!!!!! I’m in tears missing my grandpa…love it!!!!!
Thanks. Love the Southern Faith Singers. These songs are a blessing. Jesus bless you. You are in my prayers. This song made my day. Keep the good gospel music coming.
My uncle Loyld, Joe, and Reotha. And the rest of the group would come to Detroit every year and I would go to the broadcast station and the church they would be performing at. They would always turn it out, (as they say). I would come to Chicago every summer to stay, just to be with them and my uncle WT. I did this until I formed my own band and started playing for Motown groups and recording sessions around Detroit. We eventually recorded two albums on Chess Records, there in Chicago. The group was called "Black Merda". It's now a collector 's item.
This is the greatest singing I've been introduced to by my coworker. I'm a memphian southern girl 😍 old school. These guys are awesome, I love them🙌🏽🙌🏽🔥💃🏽💃🏽🙏🏽
Rev.U.Cox was my grandfather, and Lloyd Ray was my GOD-FATHER,and I really do miss them both, and I miss the whole Southern Faith group. This is Martina Jones a.k.a Tina

Its been a long time. I've been looking for songs from the Southern Faith Singers of IL. All of the orginial guys may be gone home to be with the Lord. I remember them nevertheless. My Dad George Farr was one of the orginial guitar players. I remember this group coming to Cleveland and turning the House out every year at my Aunts Church, Saint Thereas Holyness. I remember Ray, China, Melvin, Loyld the others I cant remember the names. I wish I could get ahold of their music today. Its been many many years. We formed a family group in Cleveland and sang some of there songs my dad taught us when he visited us. Anyway its good knowing that people still reach back and get their music out. My sister still has the pictures of their group.
This is one of my favorite gospel songs. As a little kid I would change my voice to sound like them I didn't know as a kid that I would be able to sing falsetto as a adult with a deep voice
bronicat1 That was Reotha. I kept thing it was Lloyd. Miss them all they were like uncles to me. Joe Lloyd and Reotha. My dad was top right. Freddie Pettis
I love this song it reminds me of my daddy who went home to be with the Lord two days before new years December 30 2011. And I saw them in Peoria il when I was 11 years old I grew up on gospel music
Ethan Britt I loved it too. This was my daddy’s group. Top right Freddie Pettis. That Lloyd leading with his sanging a$$. Loved the men. Some are still alive
This is a bad song along with 'The Bible is Right.' I also like his version of 'Father I Stretch My Hands To Thee.' I was told they are the backup band on Otis Clay's 'When The Gates Swing Open.'
