What makes Rush one of the best bands of all time is that they were constantly changing up their sound from album to album. It’s honestly worth it to listen to almost their entire discography to see how they evolved over time. My personal favourite Rush album is Clockwork Angels since it feels like that album was the culmination of everything they had been working towards on previous albums
I hope you enjoy listening to those records Prim those are some of the most important records in Rock/Metal history! I really loved seeing you discover the albums in your video.
The artwork on the back of the 'Signals' album is a fictitious blueprint for a neighborhood with made-up subdivisions. It's a subtle reference to the song "Subdivisions". 😉 Anyway, this was an awesome 2-for-1 album series video with a couple of great albums from an all-time great band in Rush! I loved the tapping & rubbing/scratching sounds as well as the different than usual sleeve sounds! All were very tingly! As expected, you did an amazing job, Prim, and it's exciting that we have an entire week marathon of these album series videos ahead! Woo! 🙌 Thank you for this video and for your continued hard work & dedication to the art of ASMR!! 😊👌👏 By the way, my favorite Rush song is from 'Moving Pictures', that being "Limelight". It was actually the first Rush song I ever heard, which may very well have something to do with it being my favorite. Also being that you're a pro wrestling fan, you may be interested to know that pro wrestling great/legend & WWE Hall of Famer Kerry Von Erich used to use "Tom Sawyer" as his entrance music back in the 1980s. 👍 Happy New Year again! 🎉
Hugh Syme has done some brilliant album artwork over the years. He's provided surrealist pieces for many of Rush's releases, and has done some noteworthy work for Dream Theater, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden. Geddy Lee's birth name was Gary Lee Weinrib, he started using the stage name Geddy as a tribute to his mother who had a very thick Yiddish accent (that's how she pronounced Gary) eventually he legally changed his name to Geddy Lee.
Also, the cover is pretty funny when you know what they’re going for. So the album is called “Moving Pictures”, and the front has people physically moving some pictures. Then there is some people crying over the pictures in the corner of the photo, so the pictures are “moving” in an emotional way. Then on the back of the album, you find out all of this is being made for a film, hence all the equipment. Films are moving pictures! It’s so silly, but I love it
*Prim,* I don't know if that was intentional but you're wearing the same sweater you had on "Sister Helps You With a School Project" which was my introduction video to your channel. That gave me a feel of nostalgia. *This* video is the absolute best way how to start off the New Year. I feel honored that you choose these albums for your very first *video* of this year. Waking up to see this made me very happy. Day 1 of the album Primathon - successful. I think my favorite sound was when you were gliding your hands across the covers. That sound *is* smooth. I can tell your favorite part was the sound of sleeves. I didn't even know there was a sticker in there. That was an extra surprise. I like how you mentioned that you listened to "Red Barchetta" and "Limelight" before the recording of this video, because those are *my favorite* songs on the album, plus "The Camera Eye". There's a stereotype that girls don't listen to Rush, so *I'm thankful* that you broke it. It was great to find out you like "Closer To The Heart", I always thought you would like that one. What were some of your favorite songs on these albums other than Tom Sawyer? Also, which album did you like the most out of these two? A few facts - Neil Peart is pronounced P ear T. The back cover of "Signals" *is* a blueprint of a neighbourhood, detailing a fictional school. The words school and mall is a reference to the lyrics of "Subdivisions". The first painting on the cover of "Moving Pictures" is a reference to the song "Witchhunt" and the third one is a reference to the "2112" album. The back cover is a photo shoot of the album cover. Rush retired in 2015 and even when they were touring, they would never come anywhere near me, so I never got to see them live unfortunately. That is the only sad thing related to Rush.
Yesss! It was intentional! I wasn’t sure if anybuddy would notice that this was the same shirt lol but yes! I love this shirt, it’s so soft and cozy! I’m very happy to be doing this album week! It’s really nice to give a little more dedication to this series before it goes on hiatus for about a month 😁 Thank you for all the interesting information about these albums! I’m excited to learn more about this band and listen to more of their music! To answer your questions, I really love both of these albums but I will try to pick my favorite and list you some of my favorite songs from them! I’ll write more in this comment after I think about a few of the questions you asked! 🙂 I hope you are having an excellent day!
Happy New Year Prim! awesome video, loved the tapping and smooth sounds! Like posted below, the blueprint is a reference/dedication to the Montreal Expos outfielder Warren Cromartie who played baseball in the early 1980s. Neil Peart's drumming is always good but especially amazing on Subdivisions. Keep up the great work Prim!
Ah, Rush!! My dad’s favorite band. Since I was little he was introducing me to their music. My lullabies were Rush songs! I was at their last tour. They are incredible!
YYZ was inspired by an identifier code, broadcast by a Toronto Airport whose airport code is YYZ. The beat in the song intro mirrors Y-Y-Z in Morse code.
"Drawn like moths, we drift into the city The timeless old attraction Cruising for the action Lit up like a firefly Just to feel the living night Some will sell their dreams for small desires Or lose the race to rats Get caught in ticking traps And start to dream of somewhere To relax their restless flight"- Subdivisions by Rush
This episode was an enchantment to watch! I always learn a ton of things from your Album series and realize that it requires a lot of preparation each time to deliver such pleasing experience. Rush is super creative musically and they also write very meaningful lyrics. If think Closer to the Heart would be my favorite song from these two albums, followed by Vital Signs and Chemistry. But I like very much some songs from their other albums as well, like Animate, Working Man or Dreamline. Thank for this new fantastic Asmr moment in your company, long haired Irish princess Prim!
When I was in high school album cover art was an actual class. I like the era I grew up in :) Glad you enjoy records. I have one of my parents saying their wedding vows
hey Vital Signs that close Moving Pictures is quite cool! Mystic rhythms off Power Windows is very atmospheric I got most of my Rush LPs original printed, They are: Rush (1974) Moving Pictures (1981) Vital Signs 12" single (1981) Signals (1982) Countdown 12" single (1983) Grace Under Pressure (1984) Power Windows (1985) The Big Money 12" (1985) you have a fabulous sense in music!!!!! FACT: The Enemy Within from Grace, The Weapon from Signals and Witch Hunt from Moving Pictures are parts of a series called the Fear Trilogy
Now this is a special treat for us fans. A whole extra week marathon of album series videos. That's a great way to start off the new year. I like the front and back cover on the first album and you are right, it has a unique sleeve with a plastic wrapper that sounds different like a crinkle crackling sound that is relaxing. The sticker is cool, a duplicate of the cover. The second album has an interesting scene on the front and back covers. The second one also has a duplicate sticker and plastic sleeve. You are incredible the way you speak and whisper. Your voice is super soft and yes, I am more relaxed now than before I watched the video. I also want to add that you look beautiful the way your hair is styled, wearing the color striped shirt or sweater and also your nail color.
Beautiful Prim, I have heard of this group but not real familiar with their music. Another awesome & relaxing video 2019 off to a great start, no surprise. Much love 😍😘💓💕💞🙋
The clever part about the album cover for Moving Pictures is that on the front it's showing guys moving pictures. Then on the back it shows that they were just actors on the set of a moving picture (an old term for a movie).
Do you like the cure? I’d love to see an album video on them! Thanks to my dad I have every one one of their albums and EPs up until wild mood swings, they’re my all time fav band
Red Barchetta and Subdivisions are two of my favorite Rush songs. If you get a chance to check out the youtube video of Rush's "O Baterista", which is a fun performance by drummer Neil Peart, I think you would enjoy it.
And just FYI the 1st rock band to include lyrics with an album was The Beatles, on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, released in 1967. Also including cutout badges, and pictures.
Please consider making a video of the 2nd best album of all time (imo): The Real Thing by Faith No More (#1 album is w/ the same band and their album Angel Dust, although I'm afraid the backcover would not be suitable for an ASMR video)
What makes Rush one of the best bands of all time is that they were constantly changing up their sound from album to album. Nice to see you here man! Was quite literally just watching your Rush video. Can’t get enough of the band, I guess

Rush is our family’s top 3 bands. Best albums you’ve picked up so far!
The kids may not have a differing opinion.
Love your Residents profile pic!
One of my fav ASMR artists talking about my favorite band since 1977. What a great way to start the year!
Omg....one of my Favorite Bands!!! One of my first Concert was the Signals Tour In 1981

Moving Pictures is one of my favourite albums, and probably my favourite record that I own

I saw Rush in concert in 2013. It was an amazing show!

Rush + ASMR? Unprecedented. In fact, you deserve another subscription. :)
One of their best songs (and 1 of my personal all-time faves) is Freewill. Tom Sawyer is a close 2nd for me.
Cool video!
Beautiful Prim, I have heard of this group but not real familiar with their music. Another awesome & relaxing video 2019 off to a great start, no surprise. Much love 😍😘💓💕💞🙋

You did it again, great timing.
Rush, damn right \m/
Definitely had a Rush phase.
You like Rush, subscribed 😉
You must have one of the best album collection ever.
How’ve you managed to collect so many?
Red Barchetta and Subdivisions are two of my favorite Rush songs. If you get a chance to check out the youtube video of Rush's "O Baterista", which is a fun performance by drummer Neil Peart, I think you would enjoy it.
Great video! Neil pEARt. Best drummer on the planet.
Yooo wtf, I was literally watching your Sega genesis video. I was wondering if there was any Rush ASMR, and here you are!
And just FYI the 1st rock band to include lyrics with an album was The Beatles, on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, released in 1967. Also including cutout badges, and pictures.
Prepare to be Rushified!! :)
Just made me imagine Geddy Lee doing ASMR lol
