Started watching this vid with the radio on in the backround, then noticed it was an ELO song, the music and this car took me back to the 70s, being care free watching Grange Hill being filmed at my school, a family friend had Mini's and we often went out for a spin in them she had a white one then black and a blue one, id wash them for pocket money £3 back then, she got me a Scalextric Mini in yellow still have it, not too far away was the Wood and Picket factory and that had some great cars. Thanx for aGreat upload, best wishes to all at KGF,friends, family and fellow viewers ❤❤❤.
Brilliant memories Sun Shine. I do feel sad these days have gone. And Grange Hill filmed at your school! Wasn't it North London? Always watched at ten past 5 while having my tea. We could go on forever couldn't we!!❤❤
@@michael5089 Hi thanks for sharing your memories they were great days, the first series was filmed at Kingsbury High School, I remember the film crew truck being there it was Grey, some of the scenes in classes looked like they had been made in another location, some of the extra's were students that I recognised, one was on his bike, he would be about 58 now, back then the pedal bikes were customised and had Canadian bends handlebars or cow horns which were wider, painted black, fitted with knobbly tyres, around then I got a home grown British bike a Vindec Trekker, it had wide handle bars, satin black frame, knobbly tyres and yes a 3 speed Sturmey Archer shifter, later I fitted ridged heavy duty wheels. George Michael went to that School and was amazing at a game called penny up the wall, us youngsters were amazed as he nearly always won. They were great times and glad you have fond memories of them too, best wishes.
@@SunShine-dk6rk That's brilliant! I hadn't heard of those bikes. My mate had a Raleigh Grifter which I was always envious of!! Remember looking at mini 1275gt to buy 2nd hand and also the Astra gte mk 1. My 1st car was a 5 year old escort in Midnight Blue bought by myself for £1300 In 85. And it was already rusting!!
On the way to work up the locust-sausage subscription delivery depot to earn enough to pay a portion of the Ultra-Leftist Extortion Zone Charge for driving to work, one can lean out of the window and have a shave on the wheels.
One of the very last 1275GT's - the Metro was already on sale when this rolled out of the showroom. A Silver Birch 1275GT used to live around the corner from me in the 1980s when I was very little - VTU580W. It was a beautiful car, but daily driven at the time, and she always drove it fast, so it will be long-dead by now sadly.
A quality restoration. You can tell because you don't need a clothes peg to keep the choke out, unlike every other BL car left on the planet. The sense of satisfaction at 1m54s is clear.
Thank you for your comments. The bhp of this engine is 54bhp @ 5,250rpm according to the 1979 sales brochure that comes with the cars comprehensive history file.
AMAZING but i would not buy it as it has a fault the added steering wheel screws are not sitting correct, there all over the place , so much care and attention to be let down by this , please fix said issue , and i am disappointed at your video to let this slip through

Beautiful. I had an orange 1100 Clubman as my first car. Girl next door got a black 1275GT. Boy was I jealous ....
Happy days, thanks for sharing.
I also appreciate the cost or restoration and the increase in price of classic cars
A really fantastic job and a great investment 👍

I love Minis!
So do we!
Absolutely incredible ! Beautiful little car.
Thank you, we agree!
Something definately reverberating throughout lower revs and at idle , good move turning it off quick.
A classic Mini having some rattles, never!
What a remarkable little car.
Thank you, very kind.

With the original wheels that often got swapped out by BL themselves as Dunlop stopped making the "Denova" run flat tyres for them.

It's in need of a better wireless not that cheap rubbish
