Yes ! I caught that right away too....plus, Mr DeMille looks older here than in the mid-30s, when "Cleopatra" was produced. I suppose it was common practice back then for the big studios to sometimes re-release their hits of yesteryear (most notably with "Gone with the Wind" !). Thanks for your comment !
Circa 1954 reissue. Refers to Greatest Show from 1952 and likely before he went off to Egypt in '54 for Ten Commndments. 20th anniversary reissue for neighborhood theaters to distract from TV. At least my guess...
Actually DeMille's "Cleopatra" was made AFTER Hollywood began cracking down on explicitness in films. The scenes in the film are actually quite restrained. A few years before "Cleopatra", DeMille made "Sign of the Cross". This was a movie far more explicit. With Roman orgies and even a lesbian scene.
No way😳😧 today we have super conservatives like Vince McMahon promote gay marriage is right there in the ring back in the 90s go figure any political persuasion will do anything for money
Estás si eran películas, actuación, producción, talento, toda una obra de arte. No cómo ahora puros efectos y actuaciones deplorables.
Claudette Colbert made the best Cleopatra.
She was SO much delicious fun... also in Sign of the Cross as the Nero's evil empress.
This must be a trailer for a re-issue of the film because DeMille didn't make Samson & Delilah until 1949.
That was with Victor Mature right

Or it's just time travel... there's always that

I love Claudette as...The Queen of the Nile...
is this a re-issue trailer or something!
Imagine if the Infinaty War trailer had been like this...

@@georgeplagianos6487 Actually the "gay marriage" storyline was a hoax and the "wedding" ended with them both revealing they were not gay.
When he mentioned the love stories. What did he say after Sampson and Delilah? Tristón and who?
