Ok, this came up in my Facebook "memories" because I shared it 11 years ago. I had completely forgotten. Of course the novelty of a drone shot is long-since gone. But this composition holds up. And the bit with the gloves still just absolutely kills me.
Great video and some cool tracking shots. Excellent video ! Loved the girls running down the street..I recently shot this aerial video in Wales of The National Library of Wales - Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru
Claytonias F. Awesome I drove by it constantly but never got a chance to actually go in the event and see it. Looks like I missed out. Thanks for sharing!
Love this video. It's the reason we picked up the same kit you're flying with. What gain settings have you found to be smoothest? Message us if that is easier! Thank you for the great video.
Hey! Love to hear that! thank you very much! I have my yaw set to 190% to reduce sensitivity, I find that it helps a little with the 'wobble' you notice sometimes. Send me a direct message so I can add you to my contacts
what camera did you use for most of these shots? Go pro? If so how do you make such high quality vids? my uploads seem to be grainy. any suggestions on improving that? also what kind of ariel vehicle are you using to get such stable shots? thanks
Beautifully done - thinking of buying my own Phantom (although I can't quite afford your whole kit!) - any tips on getting to grips with the actual flying? I'm nervous about crashing a very nice (and expensive) bit of gear. Which elements of the kit do you think are essential?
James, Totally understand the nervousness! My best advice would be a lot of practice. The Phantoms are surprisingly very resilient when it comes to crashes(Ive had my fair share) and even the TSA. Just remember that you WILL crash, don't let that dissuade you from getting better though. Essentials: spare props, many batteries, and if you want stable shots you NEED the gimbal. Good Luck!
James Bragg I crashed my quad (not a phantom) a good three times before I needed to repair the frame. Much depends on how high you are flying but extra props and batteries are great as Claytonias suggests. Fly low the first few flights and you'll be fine, quads are super stable and easy to fly compared to other options.
Nice stuff. I have a very similar setup (Arris gimbal instead of the Zenmuse). What benefits do you think the Futaba T8FG has over the standard transmitter which ships with the Phantom?
I have found that the expanded range and gimbal control have been the biggest benefits. A couple other perks are the increased battery life, and analivbility to assign various functions to the other switches (ie. fluid pan, servo control...). The timer is a lifesaver as well, when the throttle is engaged it will begin counting up so that you get an accurate time on how long you have been in the air.
Sorry for the delay, I used a little lens hood a friend of mine and I have been working on for GoPro ot fix the 'Lines of Death'(when the props cast shadows on the convex lens of the GoPro translating to darkened lines on the final footage). I've had quite a few really nice shots ruined by that and needed to find a way to fix it.
Wonderful aerials Clay! I just got my Phantom 2 and I'm super pumped to do some traveling with it. How many times did you crash the thing during your travels?
Tommy Sadler Awesome video! Just saw your comment, hope you haven't crashed your's :) I have Phantom and crashed couple times, well small crashes! Scary! Greetings from Ireland! :)
Nice video! I´m going to travel around US with my DJI PHANTOM 2 and I have a question for you. Where do you keep your Phantom during the flights? Is that a problem to have it as a carry-on baggage?
Nice! Have fun and good luck! I use a Go-Professional Case that keeps it pretty secure. I still havent yet had any problem with TSA by bringing it carry-on
Wow! This is so cool. Not only is it amazing and beautiful cinematography, but it looks like it was a lot of fun to make.

Well done sir, well done indeed.
Amazing Quadcopter shots, video editing and song choice. Absolutely Fantastic. Loved it! One of the Best on You Tube

Wooow awesome drone shots! Keep it up
Awesome work!
My blood pressure went down 10 points just watching this.
Amazing video!!!
Excellent!
Awesome!
So good! I imagine some stabilization was added in post--how stable is the raw footage?
With the gimbal there is surprisingly little need for post stabilization.
Awesome
Fantastic images from a Phantom/GoPro.. Would love to see what you could do with a Cinestar 8/Movi MR/Red Epic... Are you a professional for hire?
Nice video!!
Great video
Thank you!
looks like Disney's Soarin'
Where did you film the night scene with the lights that had a model of the Space Needle? It looked like the WA state fair
It was!
Claytonias F.
Awesome I drove by it constantly but never got a chance to actually go in the event and see it. Looks like I missed out. Thanks for sharing!
Can you tell me what settings you did most of the shooting with? What was the most difficult thing you ran into?
Love this video. It's the reason we picked up the same kit you're flying with. What gain settings have you found to be smoothest? Message us if that is easier! Thank you for the great video.

Claytonias F. How to you adjust the yaw settings with the factory Tx? Is that possible? Or do I need to go get a Futaba?

Claytonias F. Nice one, I'll just be brave then! Excuse my ignorance, but what's the TSA?
James Bragg

Haha just a joke. TSA - Transportation Security Administration. The people at the airport.
how you liking the phantom so far?
Nice

Claytonias F. Does that help so you don't run out of battery while it's in the air? How many issues did you have with the short battery life?
Did you use a ND filter or a lens hood...shooting into the sun sucks on the GP.
Sorry for the delay,

Do you need to have a special license to fly in these, or any areas?
