    There were also attempts by the KOMZ Optical plant design bureau to introduce an ultra wide field binocular in the size of 4x16.
    The БШЦ 4х16 . Several attempts were made, and a small production number was issued (about 300 samples). The prototype was designed with ultrawide oculars. The production sample was fitted with more "standard" oculars similar to the design of the БПШЦ.
    Some 2 or 3 samples of various oculars designs were offered online last year with a price tag close to 2000 Euros.
    The TFOV is rated as 15 degrees, making it the most ultrawide (in terms of TFOV) soviet prismatic binocular ever made. The image is rather nice, probably was designed to be used in a theatre or while watchig sport events. However it is nowhere close in terms of the ocular field to the mighthy БПШ8х30.

  • @Paracellum
    @Paracellum 4 роки тому +6

    I would like to add also - this is a "second revision" БПШЦ-2 of this binocular, early 70's. (1973) The production was completely ceased in 1978-1979.
    The orginal one - the БПШЦ was produced from the mid 60's up to 1969 with a pause. Then, a second generation was introduced.
    Please also note - there's a very rare prototype version, known as a БПШ 6х24 with an individual focusing system produced be the ZOMZ (Zagorsk) factory in the early 60's. This is a special issue binocular used by Soviet Cosmonauts onboard of the Vostok-5 Space ships. (Mr, Valeriy Bykovsky in particular). Total amount of the produced items is unknown - but it should be very low (less than a 100 pcs.)
    This binocular while bearing the same name is slightly different in optical path and the design, but many collectors consider it to be the prototype of pre-production piece - which was later used as a conception for the civil market БПШ 6х24 produced by KOMZ (Kazan).

    • @BlackForestRecon
      @BlackForestRecon  4 роки тому

      Thanks again for that information! I had already noticed that the versions with older production dates are labeled БПЩ6x24 while the newer ones are labeled as БШЦ2 6x24. There are apparently even Chinese copies of the БШЦ2 6x24. The version of the БПШ 6х24 with individual focus is probably even rarer than БПШ 8x30 I´d guess. There are apparently still some interesting Russian binoculars, of which not much is known.

    если будет возможность, попробуйте БПО 6х30. у него такие же окуляры, как у Б7х30 Секунда (гражданский аналог БПОс 7х30). Поле зрения 200м/1000м практически без искажений и потери резкости. БПО 6х30 один из самых лучших советских биноклей. На его базе потом сделали Секунду 7х30

    This model has limited production numbers (less than 2000 pieces were produced). Rather than that, in my opinion they are not worth the price. Mechanically they are slightly better built, all air to glass surfaces should be coated, but all the coatings are of course outdated in comparison to modern standards. In comparison with a standard БПП/БПЦ/Б8х30 the ocular field of view remains the same (60-62 dergees). The AFOV is close to 12 Degrees (200m/1000) this is the only difference, but you should also consider it is x6, not x8. The on-axis sharpness is the same in comparison with a good example of the БПЦ 8х30. Edge distortion is slightly better controlled with the БШЦ 6х24. Yellow tint is quite visible. Some examples tend to suffer from a rolling ball effect. However this БШЦ is quite small and handy and provide pretty sharp an contrasty images.
    If you really want a Soviet ultra- wide field "Holy Grail" search for an ultra -rare БПШ (BPSH) 8x30 with individual focusing.
    This beast has a 13 Degrees AFOV and an ocular field of 104 degrees. Giant outsized oculars - similar to Nikon WX.
    This binocular has much in common with a rare Zeiss Deltar 8x40 but with a wider field and almost perfectly corrected and sharp filed of view. This was produced in very small mumbers (less than 300 pieces, I guess). Even Red Army has very small and specialized supply for them. It was used as a support "control" ultra wide field binocular for an operator of the Soviet Anti Tank Missle launch system in the 60's.

    • @BlackForestRecon
      @BlackForestRecon  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the info! The БПШ 8x30 is also described in Hans Seegers book on military binoculars.
      Should be extremely difficult (and expensive) to get one..

    • @Paracellum
      @Paracellum 4 роки тому +1

      @@BlackForestRecon That's true. It's on page 212 of Dr. Seeger's "Grey Book". Very sophisticated Malafeev-Porro design. The oculars are 8 elements in 4 groups with a 2+2+2+2 scheme. The resolution is close to 10 arcseconds in the center of the field. Very sharp and contrasty with a special "level" type reticle. This is also the only soviet binocular which was fitted with winged eyecups similar to American and European military Opics of WWII.
      This БПШ 8x30 has the widest and most corrected field among all hand-held binoculars I've had a chance to look through... and believe me - I've had hundreds....inculding Zeiss Deltar, Nikon WX, as well as the Soviet Flak Binoculars like the TZK 10x80, and Boarder Guard Novosibirsk PNB 15x110. TZK and PNB have 90 Degrees AFOV Oculars, but have some sharpness loss and distortion at a very edge, while the БПШ is razor sharp.
      The БПШ 8х30 in perfect condition (which is a very-very rare thing itself - most of them were very heavily used) with an original carrying case and original "batwing" eyecups may easily reach a 3.000 euro price tag.
      And to tell the truth - I have the БПШ 8x30 in my collection :)

    • @Paracellum

      @@volgograd3480 Павел - про какой бинокль речь? Если про БПШ 8х30, то информация о разрешении в 10 угловых секунд у данного бинокля на данный момент утратила актуальность (моему комментарию по этому биноклю уже больше года) Информация основывалась, отчасти, на данных сайта redoptic и в последующем оказалась технически неверной. Главная причина - отсутствие технической документации на данный прибор (паспортами они не комплектовались в виду мизерного тиража - около 50-100 штук и узкой специализации изделия). Опытным путем и техническими измерениями были получены другие данные - в частности размер линейного поля (13 градусов) и окулярного (со снятыми наглазниками и оправой окуляра - ~ 95 градусов. ).Разрешение в угловых секундах не измерялось лично мной, но по опыту скажу, что это бинокль с очень высокой резкостью (значительно резче всех отечественных 7-ми и 8-ми кратников).
      Касательно бинокля БПШ 6х24 то разночтений с его паспортными данными нет, угловое разрешение соответствует заявленному.
      Касательно оценки разрешения в угловых секундах - действует правило "от большего к меньшему" - т.е. сем меньше значение в угловых секундах - тем более высоким разрешением обладает прибор - и в это плане г-н Бинокулус (КУ-КУ/Дорогой Друг) увы вводит в заблуждение зрителей, утверждая обратное.
