At this rate, you'll have 20K before the end of Feb.!! Props to you, once again.! Bless up bro 👊
Cheers Mr Todd and thanks for the programme. I gave you a shout out for your programme… I’ve been tweaking it a little bit as you might have seen the depth and sound in that denarii was night and day with the in built programme with minor tweeks Much appreciated

Incredible finds!! With the variety of Emperors not sure if it’s an old coin collection or a hoard. I’m guessing hoard! Time to break out the hoard hunter and cover it obsessively! Got to be a pot containing a much larger stash of denari at about 20 inches down eh? Keep it up boys and congratulations yet again!
Fingers crossed Jeff. I did a wee tot up of the number of silver denarii off this field over the last twenty years and I got a shock…… 132 silver denarii from Mark Anthony 40BC to Septimius Severus 210AD in 22 years. 🤩

Hello from England - Your knowledge of history is amazing. Such a joy to hear. Thank you. However would take me a long time before I could remember it all. Such a pleasure.
It would appear the silver coins run in the succession of Emperors. How fantastic..I found Marcus Aurelius, Faustina and Commodus bronze coins all in one location many years ago in Colchester.
@@thescottishdetectorist Colchester was indeed a town for retired Roman soldiers and named Colonia Claudia and was Britains first capital before London took precedence. After Queen Boudicca sacked the city along with London and St. Albans, Colchester then became a fortified Roman Garrison. The coins I found were in a soil mound opposite the only remains of one of the main gates into the city. You guys certainly have some fantastic finds, well done to you all and thanks for showing your finds. Good luck for the future, I'll keep watching.
Greetings from West Tennessee. I have been enjoying your videos , Maybe a little too much. I'm talking to myself in a Scottish accent while I'm detecting. Keep it up and good luck.
I’m a bit curious. Do you think this was a hoard that was broken up because of plowing, or something else? Obviously not enough information to come to certain conclusions, but interesting nonetheless.
I really don’t know FF. we are half a mile from a Roman fort. Very near to a major river and Iron Age village. And the fort was in use between 70ad and 211ad on and off…. So who knows!
@@thescottishdetectorist Have you had any input on the dice that you found? Determining the age of those would definitely be interesting. The diamond pipped one seems super unusual if it's Roman.

Probably someone trading with the Roman’s who didn’t want the PICTs to know what they were up to. Amazing!!
Thanks Becky. There’s a first and second century Roman fort that was likely re-used in the early third century just half a mile from this field, so could be a Roman soldiers loss, but we might never know
Great finds - no doubts about it being a scattered hoard - looking at the wear on the coins, my guess would be it was buried early in the 3rd century as they started phasing out silver denari in the mid 200's
