Dear Sir, Prof. Daniel Bonevac. I have no idea what age group this lecture series is aimed for but, I am 42years young and I love them very, very much. I'd like to thank you with most sincerity for spending the time and effort for putting them on youtube. I've watched some three times over. I couldn't beleive "The Progressives" and what Woodrow Wilson believed, It's encouraged me to buy a few books on Amazon to lean more about the subject, I've been told George Bernard Shaw was a Progressive. There's a "Neo-Progressive" movement starting right now in the United States [I'm from Wales in the UK] Wanting segregated bathrooms and even segregated Laws and regulation. Some African American students have been asking to bring Back segregation on campus. I know there's different individuals with different beliefs and tactics involved and the data I've acquired has mostly been on the internet [So how much is fact ??? - I may have seen something caught on film but there is plenty of ways to doctor that Data] the movement claims to be "Left-Wing" but it's completely Based around the idea of "Identity Politics" [The only movement based around Identity that I am aware of is Fascism. Even when Stalin started to copy the Fascist ways his paranoia extended to Identity] - If Fascism is White "Aryan" European and Hitler was King Fascist, so .... by being against the Nazi's judging only by they're Identity alone means your "Left-Wing"?? Not just that, the net that is cast for those on the "Wrong side" is so shallow but yet so all encompassing, everyone fits the bill. You can't even claim the minorities are defending themselves when the So called "Minorities" have gathered in drones with violent intent. The colour of Fascism has coincided to where it has existed. In Europe it was White because Europeans where White. On the Subcontinent of India where millions of millions of Muslims were slaughtered by Fascists and Pro-Fascist Hindu Nationalists. Fascism wasn't white. On the continent of Africa it wasn't white. Where the Japanese Imperialist, Buddhist Fascist white? Fascism is ugly everywhere but it is not white everywhere. These people [Who claim to be "Anti-Fascist" have been the only perpetrators of violent crime, torture, kidnapping and vandalism, Personally I would call it Multi-Cultural Fascism [I'm not Anti-Multicultural. it's the Fascist part I don't like] It's a very Euro-Centric view oddly enough, It could only ever exist in America - A] because Modern day America is arguably the most Multicultural and diverse place in history. More diverse than the Kingdom of Alexandria B] It has a population that is reminded each day, not least by the colour of their skin, amongst other things also, that as individuals they're ancestors were brought over to America against their will, enslaved and brutalized and for a long time were banned from learning to read or having a family. In a country where ALL men were seen as equal under the eyes of the Law, Science and philosophy had to be developed to prove African slaves did not have these rights so it was OK to own them as property. Even the moral argument was made "We take care of our Slaves, why would we damage or harm our own property" C] There's also a population of aboriginal peoples, some tribes of which were successfully exterminated.
I had to leave school early on, without qualifications, to enter full-time work so I could look after my terminally ill mother and my baby brother [Sob, Sob, yeah, yeah I know, we've all got problems. I'm not playing for sympathy nor am I making excuses for laziness it`'s just what happened] But, I have found the internet and UA-cam in particular an inexhaustible source of wealth when it comes to History, Philosophy, Music [I have a mad obsession for the History, Theory, Practice and science in music since I was a young boy but, yet I got an 'F' in my Music exam, my enthusiasm hasn't changed if anything I'm even more of a zealot than before. Just goes to show what a bad teacher can do to the confidence in a young mind. Also I told my Computer Studies Teacher that I would like to fix computers "When I grow up" - She laughed in my face and nearly died laughing at that. I'm pleased to tell you that I've made a lot of money playing Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele, Bass and keyboards in various bands and I've also made a handsome sum from building, modifying and fixing Computers, Laptops and Cell phones. So it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to hear some one teach who actually likes his job and seems to like his students also] And it's helped this ignorant, working class, uneducated, Hooligan gain some insight and knowledge when I debate/converse with most young people with a University degree, I'm shocked at what they don't know. They seem to be intellectual bullies and brow beaters who rely on the ignorance of others, those who couldn't get to higher education for one reason or another, in order to be a successful snob and now this is being used as a bully tactic along with the "I'm more Lefty than thou" Or "I'm more Orwell and Dostoevsky than you'll ever be" Obviously this isn't everyone who is educated and I don't have the proverbial "Chip on ones shoulder" either but to see people getting beat up for wearing a Trump shirt or just for being white!!?? two wrongs don't make a right and the only prosperous way forward is to amputate all historical crimes. You can't blame someone for what his great, great, great, great Granddaddy's next door neighbour did. Slavery was horrific, of course but, it wasn't a white/Black thing. Most whites, even the racist ones, would have hated slavery because it was messing with their job opportunities. Slavery was about Rich, psychotics with no empathy thinking they could do what ever they wanted to do to people. White people didn't own slaves, 4% of Americans owned slaves some of those slaves were Irish and a large portion of African Americans owned slaves also. One of my favourite authors wrote a book about Slavery, Dr. Thomas Sowell. An African American born in Harlem who writes books, when he is not working very hard at the Hoover Institute. Probably the finest intellectual on the face of the Earth, especially, when it comes to the stuff people want to avoid. I recommend his work to anyone who can read, truly is top notch stuff.
Any way thanks again for the hard work Dr. Daniel Bonevac. If you have the time perhaps you could give me your thoughts on "Neo-Progresssive" movements spreading out of Northern America. Thanks

this strikes me as getting really close to what linguists call natural logic, a logic that a user of language must have internalized to be able to use a natural language in which they can do reasoning, conceptualization etc

Its notable that the axiom of extensionality does exclude other plausible stronger notions of equality. So, for instance you can't have duplicates of elements. The set {1, 1, 0} = {1, 0} because for all x such that x is an element of {1, 1, 0}, x is also an element of {1, 0} and vice versa. Additionally, extensionality ignores ordering so {1, 0} = {0, 1}.

    Very interesting courses.
If I had been in the course I would have liked to ask two questions.
    1) In Category Theory 'and' or pairing is introduced as a limit. Given any C with two functions f: C -> A and g: C -> B, there is one unique function h: C->AxB such that the projections p1: AxB->A and p2: AxB -> B are such that f = h;p1 and g=h;p2 . It would be interesting to see if that way of putting things gets out of Quine's puzzle that logic introduces nothing that was not already known...
    2) Lewis in his thesis on Convention aims to answer Quine's skepticism. Does it succeed?
