The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king. - King Arthur (as portrayed by Graham Chapman).

My favorite of the numerous post-apoc Italian movies. During the big rescue/escape, I love that not a single extra can act out being shot or dying without doing something inept or ridiculous. I particularly enjoy the guard that, upon being shot, runs down the stairs and then lays down.

I have some (believe it or not) _fond_ memories of catching this on HBO with my brother on a late mid 80's Saturday night. I was (ugh) _enthralled_ within the first 5 minutes, when Einstein launched a rear missile into the Omega Force, causing the car to rear end a motorcycle, which promptly took the head off of the dummy riding the bike. And then the car sped off the road in the middle of the forest and right off a convenient cliff.
Robert Ginty (or Meh Max) has got to be one of the most incompetent heroes in film history.

To be fair, the Death Star's weak point *was* protected, at least until it was retconned into being an intentional flaw. To exploit it, you had to know it existed, then find a spot the size of a person on a sphere the size of a small moon, then get through the tower defenses, then fly down a trench that was enough to take out some pilots on its own, then make a shot that was apparently impossible unless you relied on a believed extinct religion rather than technology. That's a bit more secure than not armoring the bottom of your heavily armored attack vehicle.

Everyone is tough on poor Robert Ginty - I bet he didn't even know what the movie would turn out to be. The director, David Worth, was sent to Italy and the producer/backers said "make a film". As explained in the trivia section of imdb:
"Director/writer David Worth says that he was hired, shipped to Italy, and told to begin work on the film.... before he ever had a script. He was reportedly shown a poster for the film and told to make a film that would go with it." 😂

Ooh, another one I've already seen. I've also seen Pumaman, so can say that at least this wasn't the worst film Donald Pleasance ever did. Persis Kambatta looked amazing with a full head of hair. I read a comment that once said the action scenes in this are like someone picked toys at random from their toybox and let them fight, but that line about leftovers from other post apocalyptic movies is better.
Characters from other films to mix? Dablone from Escape 2000/Escape from the Bronx or whatever it's called. He is just so awesome he would liven up any other movie. Or Yor, the hunter from the future. 4:06 32 rounds per mag and he only scores one shot at close range and it's not even lethal. [cue Principal Skinner "pathetic" meme] "Stormtooper" aim. Certainly not OG Stormtroopers from World War I (whose moniker the "other" ones later stole).

As forl the origin of where Arthur got the sword, you got it wrong depending on which version you read. Most versions have Arthur pulling the sword from the stone at 15 whilst squired to Sur Kay. With a guest appearance from TLOL later when Arthur loses/breaks the sword later. However some versions have the LOL come first. However the first version is ALWAYS.the correct one as that is where the name Excalibur comes from Excalibur - out of the stone.

    Random thoughts about this review.
The only actor who enjoyed this film was the voice of the computer.
Why wasn't the Rider concerned about having his ball shot off? Well, it's after the Apocalypse, maybe they are as useless as the rest of him.
"Your brand of evil is an abomination. We vastly prefer a different brand of evil"
If that's the state of music after the Apocalypse, maybe it's time for another one.

The film opened, as I recall, with a straw hat floating in the ocean. A woman in a bikini was relaxing on the rocks. Suddenly, a monster's clawed hands reaches out of the water from beneath the hat, and claws her leg. A song was then playing the words of the song were 'Bikini baby, wears bikinis everywhere she goes. Her silver belly button shows' That's it. That is all I remember. ANY ONE know the film?

Appreciate that this wont be helpful to your question :(, but I thought oh that sounds likes The Horror of the Party Beach. Checked on UA-cam and unfortunately it isnt. Also had a look at The Beach Girls and the Monster, and Creature from the Haunted Sea, and whilst none of those films are the ones you are looking for, having skimmed through them just to make sure, I'm sure Robin would have fun providing a review of any of those films. Also listened the the 6 songs that the Del Aires did for Horror of the Party Beach, just to see if any lyrics similar to what you posted were in those songs. Unfortunately my research proved a total failure :(

@@askiates Honestly, thank you for your efforts. I was so hoping that someone would find the film. It was by posting clues on here that I discovered the film about a 'mad scientist' who lived in the swamps and was experimenting on people he found lost in the swamps. His failures (he was trying to mess with evolution) he threw into his backyard pool. LOL. I did not know at the time that John Agar was the star.

Sting of Death is a 1965 movie about a half man half jellyfish and has a really dumb song.

@@theproplady No, I saw that film on MST3K. This film was like something from the 1960s or early 70s. Thanks though.

Once again, it looks like Donald Pleasance was brought in to class-up the proceedings, while Fred Williamson adds some machismo, in case the hero turns out to be a schmuck.
As for post-apocalyptic characters I'd like to see get-together for drinks and talk survival tactics, they would be Mad Max, Parsifal (2019: After The Fall Of New York) and Rourke (Daylight's End).

Feathered hair, shoulder pads, and slang that would make the TMNTs cringe, must be an 80's movie

Thanks. I actually have this movie. I don't know why. But I do think the motorcycle has more personality than all the other characters put together. Also: "But your brand of evil is an abomination." Sorry, is there a good kind of evil? I didn't get that memo. Anyway, thanks again. tavi.

Donald Pleasence was such a great actor and he was in so many bad movies. At least he made a living.

The helicopter pilot and/or one of the passengers is afraid of heights. See, if they crash, it'll only be, what 10 feet off the ground? That's not as far to fall, y'know?
