My favorite of the numerous post-apoc Italian movies. During the big rescue/escape, I love that not a single extra can act out being shot or dying without doing something inept or ridiculous. I particularly enjoy the guard that, upon being shot, runs down the stairs and then lays down.

Hahahaha. ST:TMP has "And Introducing: Persis Khambatta" to great fanfare in the opening credits AND replaced DeForest Kelly in the movie poster. I don't know who she had sex with in Hollywood to get that treatment. I'll admit her acting "talent" was perfectly suited for a robot.

I have some (believe it or not) _fond_ memories of catching this on HBO with my brother on a late mid 80's Saturday night. I was (ugh) _enthralled_ within the first 5 minutes, when Einstein launched a rear missile into the Omega Force, causing the car to rear end a motorcycle, which promptly took the head off of the dummy riding the bike. And then the car sped off the road in the middle of the forest and right off a convenient cliff. Robert Ginty (or Meh Max) has got to be one of the most incompetent heroes in film history.
Ever since I saw the MT3K version of this movie "Mega Weapon" has been my name for all useless "super weapons" that show up in bad movies from time to time.
This is a surprisingly tidy end of the world. Technology is plentiful, laundries apparently still exist, and the grass verges of the pristine roads are kept nicely trimmed.
One of MST3K’s funniest running gags in their version had, every time Ginty slams his bike into turbo and Annoying Computer announces “Hang on to your…”, the comics invoke 70’s Match Game (aka Blankety Blank): “‘Hang on to your…’ BLANK, Brett Sommers:”. “I said ‘Hat’.” 😂
To be fair, the Death Star's weak point *was* protected, at least until it was retconned into being an intentional flaw. To exploit it, you had to know it existed, then find a spot the size of a person on a sphere the size of a small moon, then get through the tower defenses, then fly down a trench that was enough to take out some pilots on its own, then make a shot that was apparently impossible unless you relied on a believed extinct religion rather than technology. That's a bit more secure than not armoring the bottom of your heavily armored attack vehicle.
As far as apocalypse buddies go, you couldn't go wrong with Mad Max and Snake Plissken. Maybe they run into a young Don Johnson and his little telepathic dog too.

He was reportedly shown a poster for the film and told to make a film that would go with it." 😂 The black girl in the fight pit was also in Rats: Night of Terror and Demons.

As forl the origin of where Arthur got the sword, you got it wrong depending on which version you read. Most versions have Arthur pulling the sword from the stone at 15 whilst squired to Sur Kay. With a guest appearance from TLOL later when Arthur loses/breaks the sword later. However some versions have the LOL come first. However the first version is ALWAYS.the correct one as that is where the name Excalibur comes from Excalibur - out of the stone.
Random thoughts about this review. The only actor who enjoyed this film was the voice of the computer. Why wasn't the Rider concerned about having his ball shot off? Well, it's after the Apocalypse, maybe they are as useless as the rest of him. "Your brand of evil is an abomination. A song was then playing the words of the song were 'Bikini baby, wears bikinis everywhere she goes. Her silver belly button shows' That's it. That is all I remember. ANY ONE know the film?

Also had a look at The Beach Girls and the Monster, and Creature from the Haunted Sea, and whilst none of those films are the ones you are looking for, having skimmed through them just to make sure, I'm sure Robin would have fun providing a review of any of those films. Also listened the the 6 songs that the Del Aires did for Horror of the Party Beach, just to see if any lyrics similar to what you posted were in those songs. Unfortunately my research proved a total failure :(

It was by posting clues on here that I discovered the film about a 'mad scientist' who lived in the swamps and was experimenting on people he found lost in the swamps. His failures (he was trying to mess with evolution) he threw into his backyard pool. LOL. I did not know at the time that John Agar was the star.
Once again, it looks like Donald Pleasance was brought in to class-up the proceedings, while Fred Williamson adds some machismo, in case the hero turns out to be a schmuck. As for post-apocalyptic characters I'd like to see get-together for drinks and talk survival tactics, they would be Mad Max, Parsifal (2019: After The Fall Of New York) and Rourke (Daylight's End).
