Whenever I am at a point that I’m starting to question my purpose on why I’m enduring all the pain, frustration and disappointment, I come here and watch this interview. So inspiring!
The part where he wants to have his own voice, and now wants to give voice and speak for others who can't is so relatable. As an elementary student I've always been a wallflower, but by the time I reached college, that's when I also realized I can be more, and grow from that shy and scared little girl to speak her mind. Because I'm always unure if I am right or wrong so I'd rather not speak. Anyways, this is trully inspiring, one day, and I claim it, I will be a lawyer speaking up for those who's afraid to raise their voice ❤

This was on my recommendation and I'm currently having lots of doubts right now whether if I take law or nah. I had a goosebumps when I heard Atty. Sean talked about his reason for taking law. Just like him, I want to have my own voice to speak.

Dati I really don't like the idea of being a lawyer kasi nga I thought it will make me a big liar. I mean to defend bad people... hindi ko masisikmurang gawin iyon. But, I realized everyone has the right to be defended even if he is denounced bad by the whole world. I believe justice prevails at ang korte na ang hahatol kung guilty ba siya or not. I just hope mas maayos na justice system sa Pilipinas by the day I'll become a lawyer...

That didn't sound right. If you know your client is guilty, then it would be absolutely unethical to accept the case. Only when in your conscience you know that your client is innocent is it acceptable to take his case. Or at least there is reasonable doubt in your mind whether he did or did not commit the crime. But if you know full well of your client's guilt, you are morally obliged not to defend him.
Not really, under legal ethics a lawyer cannot decline a case because of his personal judgement. Due process kasi, a man is not guilty unless the court says so

N.B. the heading is service to the needy. i think that qualification whether the client is rich or poor affects the moral and ethical character of the lawyer's acceptance. whether he would be motivated by greed or a sense of duty to the courts and respect for due process or an advocacy for social justice.
It doesnt matter what you think, its what the law provides

I understand na kelangan ng due process and the right to representation.. Pero dapat naman pag siguradong may sala yung kliente nya lalot serious crime dapat may provision na ireport ang crime kahit kapa matalo.. Kase kung ganyan, tama ang notion na makakalaya ka nga kase magaling ang abogado mo at dahil din mapera ang kalaban ng mahihirap na kalimitang naabuso..
And justice is justice.. Wala ng ibang definition yan.. Anong konsensya meron ang isang abogado kung makikita nyang mapapawalang sala ang kliyente nya sa kasamaang ginawa tapos yung pamiya ng naagrabyado eh maiiwang hindi na nga nakuha ang hustisya, nalugmok pa sa utang.. Kase aminin nyo, malaking bentahe pag magaling ang abogado mo plus na mapera kapa.. Tsaka hindi naman lage may ebidensya, kase ung iba itinatago at sinisira para nga itago..

Off course as he just recently passed the bar exams. Common sense would tell us that unless one has been engaging in illegal practice of law even before passing the bar, taking the oath and signing the roll, a recent bar passer cannot really be expected to be "maalam na magtrial".. Let us just look at the white paper background instead of focusing on the ink dot on it..
