Brings back so many memories. My daughter dived throughout the regular school from 6th grade -to 12th...then dived as an NCAA at her small class D undergrad. Great school though for academics which carried her far. Loved this video...thanks for the fun.
Always amazed at what you divers can achieve. I know accidents and splats happen, some with serious consequences which I have seen over the years. Kudos to you all! Btw, you are really hilarious here.
Like me in Jamaica all my years Yona is the first ever diver in Jamaica it is true that he is the first ever diver from Jamaica bc I have never seen any divers from Jamaica compete in the nationals before so hopefully he will be popular here
I don't think diving splats are funny. I am scared for divers when they fail because it isn't just painful, they could be deadly. This takes a lot of nerve and I am amazed at the mental strength more than the physical finesse.
As you said, you must have cued on something unknown as you opened with your legs POINTING TO THE WATER! You hit the water, looking at the ceiling. No wonder confusion struck - standing tall. During a synchronized swim routine I overshot a spin and ended up doing deepwater figures in shallow end. Coach was not impressed!
